For anyone looking, the new Broken/Updated Mods & CC thread is here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Mods-CC-Issues/Broken-Obsolete-and-Updated-Sims-4-Mods-1-106-Apr-16-2024-Game/td-p/13649658 I'm looking forward to a shorter one. Many people will still need to find the thread for patch 1.105, because of how huge that was for…
If it wasn't fixed, Crin wouldn't have closed the thread. If it turned up after in a new form, there would be a new thread and you can be ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN we'd have made sure you all know about it. If they'd said they fixed it in patch notes but actually we were still seeing it, we'd have made ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN you all…
Updating this with a new issue: No legitimate mod will ever be a .txt file that has a link in it. If that's what you find, do not follow the link. If you have done this and downloaded a mod, delete it and run a virus scan. Malware distributed that way can include files that install themselves BEFORE you play the game -…
If you already have a Discord account (and it's yours if it's your email address!), you just need to get fresh login details. Discord also has no connection to the new Sims 4 forums or AHQ.
Fairly sure those don't conflict. The gardening system is separate from the spawning system. There are separate game files for plants in gardens vs. wild plants.
Take care with that one. It renames your files and it's very easy to end up with duplicates or with both an old version and a new version of a mod. We see it all the time in support areas. There's really no replacement for managing your own mods and CC, especially if you use a lot of it and from multiple sources.
Using the same email address in multiple places is pretty standard. In and of itself, a non-issue. As for email security, make sure you set up two-factor authentication on your accounts.
70 million Sims 4 players a year ago: https://ir.ea.com/press-releases/press-release-details/2023/The-Sims-4-Becomes-the-Most-Widely-Played-Game-in-the-23-Year-History-of-the-Franchise-With-More-Than-70-Million-Players-Worldwide/default.aspx Now add the other Sims games: about 200 million copies sold for the franchise,…
They hotfixed the urgent new bugs. But it's always a good idea to have a backups of your Saves files, going back farther than the ones the game makes itself and outside your Saves folder. Then you're rarely stuck starting completely over again. A broken save can have many, many different causes and some are inevitably…
No regrets! And very glad I stubbornly stayed here in 2014-15-16 when it would have been very easy to never, ever be a Sims 4 fan here again. Big hugs to the rest of the little group of people who were part of my mutual not-giving-up team - <3 you all. The Forums really did turn into a comfy place to be in the end. I hope…
That "bloated save" thing was a pretty long time ago. Head to AHQ to the Game Issues forum there. There's a pinned topic for infinite loading problems. That's a good start point. There are many possible causes.
There are instructions on how to deal with OneDrive issues and Sims here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/CURRENT-ISSUE-Sims-4-saves-user-content-disappearing-PC/td-p/12475370 You can get support there with the process too.
I really like it for family play! It makes some of it more meaningful, and pairs really well with Parenthood. I think it wouldn't be worth full price for people who really aren't into family play, though. And I think it's best on PC/Mac where you can get expanded Milestones sets from modders.
You actually *can* get Sims away from OneDrive (or just remove the whole program, which is what I did - I use Drive, but my uploads are manual). https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/CURRENT-ISSUE-Sims-4-saves-user-content-disappearing-PC/td-p/12475370
There are still a lot of For Rent bugs not addressed. I'd suggest having a look in Bug Reports to see if the ones that are left are enough for you to skip the pack for now. I haven't looked at the Crystal Creations bug list (if Crin's even had time to compile those), but the gamebreaking ones seem addressed now.
Okay, decided that for the record, it’s worth preserving old Broken/Updated Mods threads (to be buried in Mod/CC Issues, and if that means without links, that’s absolutely fine!): !! *Updated with Updated Mods* Mods that aren't working - Mar. 26 patch…
The mod hasn't been updated since September and had known issues already. There's a good chance that this patch -- which broke an ENORMOUS number of mods -- broke it further.
@83bienchen Please don't feel compelled to update mods for Simmers if you yourself don't want to anymore. We've seen so many modders burn out... and it's natural to do so. I really do understand -- I came very close to quitting the broken/updated mods lists last year, and this patch has me wondering why I do this when I…
I don't think that creating an EA-owned forum instead of paying for a third-party forum is a way to get rid of the Sims? This forum has been really buggy for the last couple of years.
