Seems I can't access "settings" to turn off my automatic updates. Whenever I click on the Origins icon on my task bar, it immediately starts updating. So I right-clicked on it, and clicked settings but it still begins the automatic update. Any suggestions anyone?
Thanks for your reply though! Yeah me too, no major probs with Sims 3 since I bought the computer I'm playing on now re 2 yrs ago, just to play Sims 3 on. And I don't wanna mess it up now! I'll have to look around some of the forums to see how any other players can avoid this update if they're also gonna play sims 4…
Thanks lisasc360 :p What I'm worried about is can I skip this particular update? I may one day get Sims 4 on my current computer which I still play Sims 3 on. But what if I need to update Origin in the future for something related to my Sims 4 game at that time? Wouldn't any future Origin update include this new one, that…
Hiya Ceejay! As always, thanks much for replying :) It turns out I can't hear anything at all on my computer (not youtube, any videos, hulu, etc.) since this unwanted "upgrade." Through research, I've discovered that I have a Realtek digital sound card. No sound now must be the possible errors you refer to. I'll have to…
Hi SimSwim2...sorry I didn't see your comment before. Just quickly checking back in to this post to see if anyone had any ideas. You have my condolence as I also miss hearing quirky Sims 3 music :( Hopefully we'll be able to eventually get this issue resolved somehow.
Hi esperelda. I got home just over a week ago. I'm starting to go through my 10,000+ photos. I'm planning what to do next with my pictures. [/quote] Welcome back :) Feels great to see a familiar face! I bet your pictures are SPECTACULAR as you were on quite the adventure from the sounds of it!!!
*Hugs!!* to you too, Sofie! What an interesting storyline playing a homeless child. I would also love more hair. And even more Victorian styles, clothes, hair, furniture. I very badly wanted a horse and carriage *sniffles* :'( Agree with you about the need for more elder stuff.
Hi All, Me too! I am really feeling lost on these new forums! Just as I had begun meeting other Simmers (I was late in getting Sims 3!), everything changed :( I miss being able to chat with lots of other simmers and feeling a certain amount of familiarity with my simming community! ;)
Waves Karritz, sounds like you may be back home from your trip! Like so many of you I also wish the Sims 3 store wasn't closing. There's sooooo much more I've yet to discover in my game!I've got ONE last unresolved issue (fingers crossed) which is the radio in my game has stopped producing any sound and Map view/build/buy…
I have been playing on this newly purchased desktop for almost a year now. I got this desktop (eventhough I prefer laptops) so that I could have a more solid foundation to play my game as each laptop kept getting burned out as I added more EPs. The computer is completely updated, in good shape, with only the Sims 3 on it,…
Unfortunately taking out the Sims 3 folder, saving it to desktop and playing a completely, fresh new game (allowing the generation of a new Sims 3 folder in the Electronic Arts folder) yielded the same results: all other sounds could be heard with the exception of the radio, build/buy modes, Map view, and I can't remember…
Happy to see you ceejay402! I am patched to 1.67. Just got done testing a new game in Sunset Valley, and couldn't hear the radio or any sound in build/buy mode or the Map view music that used to play. However, I did hear the crescendo sound the game makes when the time portal shows up in a new world. I can't remember if…
Yes I've just taken the time to research how then check that the audio drivers are indeed updated. I moved the family to a new town and 'saved as' to a different name.....alas.....to no avail, unfortunately :\ Yet a Big Thank You Cinderellimouse for your responses.
Hi Cinderellimouse :D I have checked, the music box isn't checked. None of the options are checked: voice, sound effects, ambient, music, quality. They are all turned up to high. And I can hear absolutely everything else with the exception of the radio, build and buy modes and map view. Its really odd.
Awesome pics, Eveebella! I just tested the gondola ride with two of my sims who are sweethearts and it was great for them. This particular couple is hard to get their fun meter up and stay there for long, but this gondola ride sure did it! The ride lasted longer than I expected...at least 40 sim mins AND love how one sim…
