Today is the 10th anniversary (? I guess is the word) that I took my 21 year old cat "Bobbie" to the vet... for the LAST time! I had her since she was just a few weeks old, and she NEVER left my side!
Today - April 18th is permanently burnt into my brain as Bobbie's day! Her LAST day on Earth with me. I held her paw as she was put to sleep. I felt her little paw tense up, before releasing.
I knew it was over. She was no longer blind. She no longer had a breathing problem. She was now free.
Trust me - if you lost someone after 21 years, it BURNS you! I really needed this song. It's become my go to "comfort" song, if I need to get the tears out of my eyes! 😭

Thank you for reading my rant.
As someone who's lost many furbabies over the years, many of those taking their last breath in my arms, I know how painful it is. But there is a relief in knowing they're out of any suffering. It was recently the anniversaries of two of my old rats and family dog too. There are 3 songs that remind me of my old dog: 'Winter Winds' by Mumford and Sons I had playing on my laptop when we were planning to have him PTS (I can't listen to it without crying my eyes out), 'Let Her Dance' by Bobby Fuller Four we used to dance to sometimes lol, and 'It Must Be Love' by Madness made me cry when I was with him once because of the line "How can it be that we can say so much without words".

For Bobbie, the song "Can't Stop Loving You" by Phil Collins is the song that reminds me of her.
She would ALWAYS be in my lap, when I was on the computer. I would put it on the music player for her, while I worked.
Even to this day, I STILL can't even make it past the first verse, without crying. I have to turn it off.
