Households will not load after new patch

I updated (with no other choice) and now I am unable to play my last save. My game will load to the neighborhods fine. But once I select a family and click the Play button, my game will just stay on the loading screen. It is taking well over 2 min. Never timing out or giving an error. I have disabled my mods, disabled Origin in game. Uninstalled and reinstalled Orign. And loaded one of my much older saves. The older save works. Can't get my most recent family to load still. I even tried moving the household to a new lot. I was able to save the household as well as upload it to the gallery. I tried to create a new save using that household from the gallery. Couldn't replace so I had to merge in CAS. Moved them into a new lot, still won't load. It seems the household file is now literally curupt.

Update:

I tried to start my legacy over in a new save. Nope. Looks like now I am also in able to play my save from months ago. I click on the household and it kicks back to the Home Worlds Screen.

Now I will have to start my Day of the Dead Collection over, if I can ever play again.

I know this is a game but seriously. I spent an hour troubleshooting when I really had my mind set on playing.

I am running windows 10 anniversary edition.

U can cheat the skulls back in debug I think. And what about repairing game? Restarting computer? Rollin saves back? The update might of just corrupted ur save. I'll tag @rosemow to tell u how to roll back saves and stuff

Hello
Try saving the home to your library. Then bulldoze the home. Then place the version of the home that you have save to the library on to the lot. Then test to see if the issue remains,

Try going into Build Mode and setting the Lot Traits from the neighborhood screen, set the traits, then exit build mode, and then try loading the household. Odd, I know, but, it worked for me.

I have restarted the game as well as my computer.

I tried saving the home in my library, bulldozed it. Then re-added. I did not move the family out of the lot prior to this. Nothing worked.

Try moving your whole mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and test to see if that helps the issues. If it does help, then put your mods/CC back into the newly generated mods folder in the sims 4 folder one by one or in batches and testing the game after each one to see which is the cause of the problem.

The autosave file may be causing issues. Go to your save folder in Documents -Electronic Arts-Sims 4 folder and move the slot_00000001.save file. to your desktop. That is the autosave file. Then launch the game. Go to the load button ( the one with the floppy disk image) in the main screen in the game, load one of your game files, play the game and see if it is working okay

Repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.

Try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Exit the game and then copy back the "options.ini" file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders from the desktop sims 4 folder

With your older save files, try rolling back your save game file to an earlier version. These links explain how to do that.

Repairing the game didn't help.

@Ulfric_Grimbrand I didn't realize you could set the household traits with this patch! Cool! I gave it a try. No luck. Kicked me back to the Home Worlds screen.

Try resetting the sims 4 folder and see if that may help. Before you put the folders back into the new sims 4 folder though, start a new save game file and see if the issues remain in that new game also.

Also try rolling back your save game to an earlier version, and see if that version is affected also. I have posted links how to do that in the above post.

I can't even launch the game after today's update. It gives me an error saying initialization start up error. Is anyone having this issue? I can't find any help on here. The game was working perfect before this update. Not sure what to do.

Lot Traits! Lots can now have up to three traits assigned to them, which convey gameplay and story benefits.
Open up the Lot Info panel in Build Mode and select from Homey, Fast Internet, Great Acoustics, Science Lair, Convivial, Natural Light, Bracing Breezes, or Private Dwelling.
Explore the various traits to find one, two, or three that make sense to you!

Nothing else works if involving my old Sims 4 folder.

I was having that SAME silly problem all day until I found out that I had a mess of broken mods/cc in my game and I had to weed them all out

my broken mods/CC for me were the pizza oven, a few food mods, an alarm clock one, the doctor mod, some sweet bedroom cc stuff but the mods that work are the ones for my Mulder Legacy story so happy those mods/cc work

How do I unlock the skulls?

I am sorry that you have had this issue. Try moving back your tray folder into the new sims 4 folder and see if that causes any issues. The tray folder contains the sims and builds that you have saved to your library.
Do you want to unlock the skulls in build/buy mode? They are in debug mode. The cheat for that is
bb.showhiddenobjects
Or you could download from the gallery a " Day of the Dead Challenge " room that simmers have uploaded that contain all the skulls.

I was ready to throw my game into Lake Michigan if I didn't get it working good thing I tested the mods and found the broken ones and got rid of them

but I have to start all over on on my Mulder Legacy in game but the story line won't change on my website
