Unable to Honor the Dead and Missing babies «12...Next Go

Hi there,

I loaded up my game this evening to find a baby missing and my family sad because said baby was whisked away. This didn't happen just before I last quit, and nothing was wrong with my baby. In fact the Nanny had glitched out and been in my house full time for a sim week or more and was taking very good care of the babies.

Also, the Nanny got stuck at my house for a week. Firing her fixed it. However firing the Nanny doesn't allow me to get a new Nanny when I go to hire a new Nanny. I just get the same Nanny that I just fired.

I have completed the skull challenge, almost. I am unable to honor the dead when clicking on the case. The optionis greyed out and I am told the dead were too recently honored, despite my having never honored them.

With your missing baby, try rolling back your save game to an earlier version, and see if that save game version file still has the baby.

With the nanny that you would like to have a different one, try typing in
testingcheats true
Then shift click the nanny and click " add to household" Then go to manage household, click on your sims household and move the nanny into their own new household. Then delete this new household. Then you can hire a new nanny.

With the hounour the dead interaction not available, try having your sim travel to another lot and back, and see if that helps.
Try waiting for a full 24 hours sims day to pass, then try to honour the dead using the case.

Haha, this may sound like a horrible person, but now I have to try to do this.
I wonder if my kid will be available for adoption afterwards...

Hello
When your child is taken away, they will not be available for adoption.
If you decide to test out having your sim taken away, save the game beforehand then exit the game later on without saving.

Hi @rosemow !

As much as my sims were attached to their baby, it apparently doesn't exist and it's twin will never know it had a sister. Due to the god awful family tree. So whilst I COULD turn back my game I'm not currently willing too due to the hard time I've had collecting these darn skulls. (so many bugs!)

I tried deleting the nanny, and have yet to try hiring a new one but will do so soon.

As for the skulls, the going away and coming back did not work.

Which makes me very sad.

Do you think perhaps if I copied this family as is to the library, rolled the game back, put them in another lot and game the skulls to my family WITH the missing baby... that perhaps the object would be reset somehow?

With the skulls, try waiting the full 24 hours sim day and see if the interaction is then able to be used. If the issue remains, then place the skulls into your sims inventory. Type into the cheat box
bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement
Go to build/buy mode, and delete the empty skulls display case. Then buy another one. You can find the display case by putting " Day of the Dead" into the search box.
Then place the skulls into the display case and see if you can honour the dead then.

Hey there, just a quick one, where is the search box?

EDIT : I didnt find the search box but did get a new shelf using the cheat. However it hasn't worked.

The search box is the box in build /buy mode at the bottom left hand side of the screen.

I am sorry that you are having this issue.

Repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.

Try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Exit the game and then copy back the "options.ini" file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders from the desktop sims 4 folder

Edit : Try checking that the 9 skulls are all uniquely different and are not multiples of the same ones.

Also, if you have cc/mods in your game, move your mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and test to see if the issue is still there.

I have had the same issue, my sims cannot honor the dead and have waited days to do so, I have also done what you have suggested @rosemow but it is still not working I don't have mods or CC in my game

Hello.
I am sorry that you are having this issue. Try placing the display case in your sims inventory. Then try having your sims move to another home, then back to the original home and see if that helps the issue.

Hi @jacqpinks I'd like to know whether your sim had a baby in his/her house?

I found that maybe a baby is the reason why our sims are unable to honor the dead.
In my game, once I aged up that baby the interaction "honor the dead" became available immediately.

I actually did and I had aged him up last night before I closed my game, today I repaired my game and I thought it was that but I guess it was b/c I had a baby in the household

It seems that we can confirm that having a baby is associated with this issue .
I feel so relieved. I have been tortured by this issue for about 2 days.
I hope that we can get a patch for this issue as soon as possible.

Hey there Rosemow,

I just neglected the baby till it got whisked away to wherever it's twin is >.<

And now, am able to complete he collection.

I do hope they fix these baby whisking issues and do a bit not QA before anymore challenges
