It does snow in the desert, but rarely. Just looked it up and found out even the Sahara Desert can snow! The article said the Sahara is an extremely hot and arid desert but has gotten snow at times over past decades, the last time in February of 2022. They don't get a lot of snow and it disappears in a day.

All I can say is that is does snow in Phoeniz, AZ. Chew on that one for a moment. There are two types of desert; High and Low. High deserts get snow, Low, not so much. But, I agree, Chestnut Ridge? doesn't look very American Southwest at all. I have to agree with @elanorbreton, it's Sim Land and likely has elements from…

Upper deserts can be very cold in the winter. The problem is that deserts don’t get much precipitation, that’s why you don’t see much snow. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t snow in the mountains around a dersert because if most certainly does in most cases, at least in the southwest. In the southwest you can find oceans, snowy…

North American deserts (including the southwest) can get snow, it just depends on what altitude they're sitting at. All of the high altitude regions (and some of the mid to lower altitude regions too) all get snow in the winter.

This is an interesting read. As someone not from the USA I remember when I visited Las Vegas and told on a tour it snows there in the winter. I found it hard to believe that a desert place can get snow. When I went to Vegas it was at Halloween and over 30C which is hotter then most summers where I live.

To me, Oasis Springs is the Phoenix area or southern Arizona. I guess Strangerville is supposed to be Roswell more or less, and I was hoping Chestnut Ridge would be another hot desert area because I like to limit my Sims' traveling to areas that seem like they would be geographically close, unless they actually take a…

There are no deserts in the southeast. It does snow in the southeast though...just not as much as the northeast. @pearlbh you may want to fix your thread title. The southeast US are the two Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, etc. The southwest are Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, ect. The southwest has been known to get snow in the…
