    Who's affected by the cheats?

    Ok, so I'm in Edit Town mode. Who do the cheats affect? I want to move a buncha sims in to town, but the sims only have the 16k.

    If I kaching or motherlode, or freerealestate.. does it only affect the sim I'm trying to move in?

    If not, can I turn freerealestate back off? Is there an easier way to do this?

      You can always user famliyFunds (Family name) for the families you want to start off with a bit more cash.

      i think altheaquin is refferring to this cheat;


      familyfunds + (type familyname) + (type amount of Simoleons)

      just fill in those spaces :)

      Thanks Woahhitshaleyy that is the one I was referring to. Type to fast and you forget things (I'm supposed to be working ;-)).

      I dont think familyfunds work in TS3

      haha, thats okay, because when I first got sims I didn't even know you had to type that in and none of the cheats would work for me so I thought there was something wrong with my game :D haha.

      I haven't actually tested it but from the forum here : http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/1685.page it seems it should work.

      Ok, so, the Family name, I assume is the name they're saved with. For example Theodore Frump's family name would be Frump, no?

      Anyway, I tried familyFunds Mime 32000 (as mime is the family name in the case above) - aaaand, nothing happened.

      They're currently in the bin, if that matters.

      familyfunds Brown 1000000 thats how you should put it in.

      Yerp, that's basically how I typed it (without that much money) lol..

      I dunno what I'm doing wrong. Oh well. Guess they'll just decay in the bin more.

      Hmmm, I'm going to have to test this once I get off work and see what happens. I always like to start certain families in Sims 2 with a bit nicer lifestyle and imagine I will eventually want to do that in Sims 3 (when I get board with my legacy :-)).

      Family Funds works if they are the active family in live mode.

      I just wish the + and - worked as well. In TS2 you could type familyfunds Brown +20000 and it would add the amount to the current funds. In TS3 this drops your funds to zero.
