Adding a third school?

Heya everyone! My town got overcrowded so I added a second school and it worked for a while but now even with two schools there are crowds. I was wondering if it is possible to add a third school? If so would I have to do it like when adding the second school?

You can have as many schools in TS3 as you like (within reason). Under EA standard, sims will register for the one closest to where they live, but unless you bulldoze and replace the existing ones at the time you add a new one, the sims already in town will not see the need to re-register.

Mods open up other possibilities and I believe you are already a mod user. With NRaas SP and GoHere working together, the schools can be separated by age (elementary/high schools), gender, wealth, or any other attributes you want. Age seems to be the most commonly used. The Careers mod has a Schools add-on that also lets sims go to private schools that take place in certain rabbit holes that would already be in your world, and that allows for Homeschooling as an option.

For overcrowding, many of us also find this mod very useful.

Note that if you have over 100 children and teens in your world, you may be setting yourself up for a population explosion in the future that the game engine might not be able to handle. MC's Demographics > Population report, run on City Hall and "X" to dismiss the filter, will give a quick reading on the number of resident sims you have broken down by age groups.
