Mods not working on MacBook

I've made a mods folder as instructed, with a Packages folder and the resource file within but the game is STILL not recognizing the mods.

I always go to Mod The Sims and copy their architecture for the Mods folder and then copy and paste it right in the Sims 3 folder. That way I know it always works correctly.

Agree with @Tremayne4260, there is no need to re-invent things if it's already been done for us. But just to clarify, your Resource.cfg was obtained from where, and was placed within what? It goes inside of Mods alongside of Packages, not inside of Packages.

(illustrations are for Win 7, but the structure needs to be the same on a Mac)
