So, I started playing the Patel family in Belladonna Cove. Everything was pretty usual, until lightning stuck the roof (roof piece) and set the entire roof ablaze. None of my Sims would do anything because they were worried about the fire, and it would't subside until every piece of the roof was burned. So now I have no idea what to do, since they live in an apartment and I can't really fix it without the right cheats...

    Okay, two things:

You're going to have to use cheats to get the roof back on (Believe it's boolProp apartmentBuildBuyRestrictions [on/off] and boolProp aptBaseLotSpecificToolsDisabled [true/false] to put roof pieces back on.) Under no circumstances should you move everyone out, change zoning, and fix the roof, you're really only supposed to change zoning on never occupied lots.

Second: the lightning rod from seasons should help avoid getting the roof struck again, though you have to put it somewhere visible, so you can't hide the darn thing.
