Karaoke songs - are they copyrighted or made for the game?

My sim is at level zero, and although it's fun seeing her sing, it's kinda difficult to recognize the song she sings.

Do anyone know whether karaoke songs are RL songs, and therefore copyrighted? Or are they composed exclusively for the game? I know radio songs are RL hits sung in Simlish.

I ask due to monetizing on youtube. I'm only including short snippets anyway, but would like to know in case my sim gets better at karaoke over time...

Not sure about copyright, but a few of them are from karaoke songs from the past iterations!
So some of them would be fine to put on YT.

Ah, great! I used a few snippets in my series, but couldn't recognize them as real life hits because my sim sang too badly, LOL. Don't think I used the karaoke back in TS3.

They are original songs as far as I know. I am pretty sure you can use them no problem ^^
