On the topic of Gold Editions, I have never seen one for a game that didn’t have a season pass. In terms of a complete edition of Sims 3 or 4, that will never materialize. Literally too much content for that.
That’s like calling Spyro open world. They are more like game levels since you have to reload the entire thing just by going next door and everything that’s going on is more or less scripted to happen in that particular zone.
Frostbite is a good game engine the issue is EA mandated all their games use it which has been problematic to say the least. Wasn’t designed to be widely used like Unreal Engine.
@tweedle i think most of it stems from bad management/leadership and not necessarily bad technology. For that same pack another producer was super proud that the visual effect artists went over budget creating the animated city backdrops and in the same breath gave some arbitrary excuse for why elevators, or even the front…
We don’t really know since the producers arbitrarily assign blame to technology even when the technology supports features they just didn’t want to make. Apartments are a great example since a producer said it was a aesthetic choice to make them bad not necessitated by technology.
There haven’t been any modifications to pronouns in the text. The instances that neutral language is used have always been like that, and it’s just shortcuts being completely honest, which is why they are not consistently applied throughout. I don’t think pronoun changes are going to be pushed to the front of the…
I got strangerville last year and I wasn’t really a fan. I really really like how wacky the Sims behave when they’re possessed. Didn’t care for the story it wasn’t interesting enough, nor was the associated gameplay, for me to finish it.
Really don’t see the point in adding calendars to the base game when players have been asking for cross-pack content for years. Let them add content that can use the calendar, but leave the calendar as a seasons exclusive and have it be an extra layer to the new stuff not just built on top of a feature in the seasons…
If they were making big changes to traits there would be a blog about it. I assume they will reinforce what traits are suppose to do. For example, athletic Sims “feel energized more”, so they’ll probably make the moodlet stronger so the emotion is less likely to be cancelled out by a conflicting emotion.
I wouldn’t imagine anything substantial. Their track record doesn’t exactly support an about-face on popular requests. Just this last September the fandom was freaking out about the studio not listening to or applying feedback. Have not seen anything that suggests change in that regard; kits are not exactly a good response…
Sims 4 era will be ending soon. EA wouldn’t have made kits a thing if this game weren’t wrapping up in the next year or two. They want to squeeze every last drop of money out of people who buy Sims 4 content while they still have an audience this size.
Well everyone who didn’t buy kits told EA what type of kits you’re interested in. Now you know why there isn’t a none option. Realistically they won’t sift through thousands of responses.
You are the only one arguing, and not even about anything i said. Sims 4 has $700+ worth of additional content. I didn’t make that number up. Go add up all the packs. Again, I never said anyone has to purchase anything. Why you’re lecturing me on that, I just don’t know. Also not sure why it matters to you what positive…
I don’t care what people buy that has nothing to do with the cost/price of the collection of Sims 4 content. I don’t expect everyone to buy everything, I have barely bought anything, but again that’s not the point. The point being Sims 4 has ~$700 worth of additional content and more on the horizon. On the topic of value,…
If the total library is valued at ~$700 then it’s definitely not disingenuous to say it costs that much. Sales are sporadic and temporary. If you bought an expansion for $20 would you say “expansions don’t cost $40” or would you say “I got this expansion for $20”?
I find this sentiment to be overtly patronizing, especially in the context of this post. No one complaining about excessive monetization is “out of touch” and twisting it that way is incredibly “out of touch”. You might as well just say shut up and go away since that’s the message behind your thinly veiled positivity. I…
