So... don't even know if anyone else would want to do this or not and I did it once before already I can't say if it's inspired by another challenge or not I might watch a challenge vid but I don't really follow others but as far as this one goes it's mine.
Anyhoo the first time I did this I just wanted to see if I could do it, you play on long with 28 day seasons and you have to start in Winter, basically the unknown sim mayor only comes out of hiding when bored. While in this mood anything could happen this time it's plopping sims or a sim in a hovel and watching them work to fix it up while handling the struggles of life at the same time.
The completed one I did.
This was Kyla's home, made obviously from regular walls and different sizes for the half walls, the old house was a an eyesore but no one wanted to do anything with it and bringing down property value lowered bills the mayor (you) is an odd one.
Before she got to this Kyla would take time to breathe with a few love interests mostly Father Winter who she had three children with while occaisionally hooking up with Patchy and eventually dating the flower bunny. Part of her rules was to keep up with the materials offered so while scrambling to get money for her children each time a wall was added to close in open space she lost the old dying trees. Once they were gone the 'lumberyard' made sure to send her more supplies, meaning she had to learn handiness to put things together.
She was of course given some electricity and running water.
She is now happily married in a house she worked for with the money her husband brought in and she is technically done but will get a new house when her husband's old room mate...passes. He won money while the home and it will be their's.
So it's like that.
Rules I hope these aren't too confusing, but I'll be doing it so you can see what I mean.
Basic and building...
Start with a trashed house, or use their funds to make one, whatever money is left after you've set up get rid of it they really need to start from 0Also must have at start bathroom, a place to eat...grill, fire.., or cooler, some basic furniture as if the place was looted after the storm destroyed it, a fireplace, something to sleep on. The mayor says that is livable!!
1. No jobs...need time for friends, family, pets, and love interests.
(Meaning you have to teach toddlers skills they can only use the tablet part of the day, pets must learn skills and everyone must be close in the house)
On that note you can make money from hobbies when you can afford them but not all at once, no books continuous funds when painting you have to stop your sim and take multiple days to finish one painting...so yeah..
2. Can be a klepto but time management is important, you can't just spam raising your mischief skill you can only do so for part of the day.
3.All collectables are fair game, however you get tired you can only travel a couple times each day if you can't find any thing then no money for you.
4. The house must be covered in plant life, there has to be a "pond" the swimming pool with the dirty green water loaded with decorations from the pool or fountain category. It has to be slowly cleaned, the walls both inside and out have to be covered in the decorations as well wall pieves and vines cracks.
Some of these are your 'rewards' as when you sell some (the cracks are free) you get money and that can be use to help renovate, once the house is entirely completed the 'pond' can be deleted or 'completely cleaned' and just part of the house.
5. Sometimes when traveling you'll see sims cooking you can visit them once or twice no easy feeding.
6. Now for the walls you are using 'lumber' so everytime you think you have money for a wall you can't buy a bare wall...I noticed sometimes when adding on the wallpaper might disappear from halfwalls I assume it's a glitch or intended since you're moving them. If you can't replace the 'wood' wallpaper then you can't add a wall. Roof is free so the broken pieces decorating the ground are just decoration but also technically count for supplies.
7. If you start with two regular sims then part of their relaxtion is getting to know one another then move on, if they are already together but you can't afford a bed you have to travel somewhere either to a bush or to a lot you can throw a bed down in. First night they have to try for a baby, this is stressful they want to relax.
If you start with a single sim you can take a few days to get to know someone to have a child, they don't have all day to just talk and flirt with you.
8. When you have a baby you get the bassinet, your sim is emotionally attached you have to keep it in your inventory and use it for the next baby, either way never sell them.
9. Pictures of your family or couple taken with phone are bonuses take four pictures keep one good copy and sell the rest for a little extra cash.
10. Every child must have their own room, you want more for them than you had, however the way around that is if they share a room only two to a room and you need to have at least six children unless you move them out. In which case all furniture must be stored in the family inventory.
11. If you prefer pets you may have one child and move them in with another family to keep your legacy alive
Just remember if you do this you have to visit them every day and adopt pets through the phone. Every pet must have a food dish that you have to fill, no automatic feeders. They have to have a toy and a bed even if they don't use them. Breeding is cool one puppy or kitten sold a day. Make sure to save before you do just in case the social worker glitches.
If you run out of space with pets...again store everything.
That might seem like a lot but I don't think it's so bad once you get used to it....oh I forgot the
thermostat Kyla never got one but when you can afford it you have to switch to the temperature that is required, still cold need to leave the heat on, did the season change....turn on the air conditioning.
I'm doing this again so I'll share that and I hope if anyone is interested they'll come share with me, even if you don't take pictures I want to know how you did.
As for time limit just have fun with it or see how quickly you can make things better for your sims that part is up to you.
Always return home you can't just sleep anywhere.
I think that's all.
There is one more thing....you don't start with a kitchen because it's like a gift when you can afford two counters, another sink, a stove, and a fridge...you must cook every day. You can't just make party servings no body has money to be fully stocked on groceries you just barely scrape by.
Which is funny since you're cooking so much anyways.
The mayor is pleased.
Reddestiny921 on the gallery...still not sure if I capitalized the second d..lol

Their place.
"I knew it would be like a shack but this is ridiculous...and I can't even tell you to do something about it."
"Yeah contracts and all, we knew what we were getting into but I'm surprised the mayor says this is legal, we better move before we freeze to death."
Melana and Luca here just met, several of their outfits are similar their suitcases are "filled" with food and supplies they need not much room for clothing.
For their traveling decided first they could try some fishing, Luca is terrible but Melana did well.
This is just a better pic of them trying to be optimistic.
Their first day, Luca made a little bit but the champ was Melana, all that fishing and cloud gazing already has them in a good point...looks like they will have less time to fish while working on their relationship they need a baby.
Melana insisted she couldn't use this without a chair but they could afford it, no walls today.
A closer look at their bathroom, the front door is the only door.
Their storage, and a look at what little furniture they can keep.
Luckily for her he found some boxes for them to rest on tomorrow..baby time oh shoot I did forget something else.. ugh I shall probably most likely never but could write another challenge again. I'll add the rule here.
All the sims err'day
Snow is coating most of the house..
Still being optimistic.
Twin looks of why bother being out here
Part of their time out can't just make money after all.
They are cute together
A little date with what little money they have, didn't spend it though.
Since they are friendly, time to move on to the next step.
This is what I'm talking about, always put the wood back or you can't really afford to fix up the house.
After it was all fixed up added the first closed window, can't just be cheap it has to be worth making things up.
Selling some of the frogs I have collected part of the all collectables go, I will stop selling them and work on my daily collections.
All the sims err'day
Don't know what to make of that look.
As if she just realized that they could have been caught.
Ah she ended up pregnant hoping for multiples...technically they have room for six, with two kids to a room two can sleep in their room, I wasn't too clear on that as the number is required and they must be taken care of, I believe teens can live alone so simply what I meant was that raise them to teens and move them out to have room for more kids...if you wanted. It's optional so no need to split hairs in the rules.
At this point I've stopped selling frogs and I breed them every day and hold on to them, he has some 100 dollar frogs consider this their extra income the mayor is generous...when the funds can't be used lol.
Covered in snow but on and ready to raise their bills.
Still happy though..
And why shouldn't they be they could afford several walls today, the heater also works in this broken down space ha...not sure if that's intended.
Of course Vlad broke in...
I kept him locked out for a while but in the end he wouldn't leave...but I guess he decided they had enough problems because he left without taking any plasma, and those swirls down there eventually left on their own.
Here is part of wanting them to have more I guess it should have been obvious so I didn't add it but if all the pets require everything so do the tots. Bed, blocks, toy and potty if you can afford the tablet they can use it part of the day and again if you get one a tablet every child must have a tablet
It's taken a few days but finally, Luca wants more.
Now for the next entirely optional part, if you like rotation when just waiting for things you can toss in some extra families to play this lowers your time to make money so as part of the challenge it fits right in.
This is an older family of mine, Ruben and his sister are very close each has a bracelet meant to represent the other you can just barely see, their parents are gone so he's in charge of her. Their little dog is Lici and it's Stacy's fault she's all dressed up.
He's awfully cute for someone scraping by in the criminal career to give his sister the best he can.
As far as he's concerned his precious sister is an angel
All the sims err'day
I wasn't paying attention and almost lost....lol.
She wet herself after he almost died and they had to fix their things before taking care of their needs, it was a long day.
Earned the money to close in the baby's room and that is reward time deleting some of the vines inside, just in the closed in area and using that money we started on the kitchen.
Awfully happy pregnant woman.
Take that back..
Go time, traded in the cooler for the fridge.
First baby won't make all of them independent but even if I did part of the challenge is relationships they need to be spending time with all of their children while fixing up the house at this point.
Part of the reward I took one of the bushes in the parent's room to get a mirror for make ups, trade ups are fine, the bush and mirror were a good trade. His name is Joshua.
She got extra curvy with him, though for her she'd work it off while she's at the gym...anytime they have to leave daycare is only for dates, getting money and anything else the tots have to come along keep their toy in their inventory. Also I gave him two frogs so he can help with breeding.
He's just a baby so this situation is amazing to him.
Since they had the money for most of the kitchen the last trade up was the fire pit for the stove and sink, now they have to cook every day, they'll really need money for all their meals.
Things are okay so far...I also don't let tots wake up anyone for little nightmares.
All the sims err'day
Realizing this cooking thing isn't as easy as Luca makes it seem.
Haven't seen this one, it's got snow on it since the roof isn't fixed here.
We were able to close in the bathroom.
Little Joshie's biggest challenge ever lol.
Not a time to be shirtless heh.
Weightloss is not a date so he has to come, the tots can be constricted somewhere though, this is a build of mine I added this space for him.
Dirty look there..
Joshua stole the squid toy.
Haven't seen this one either.
Oh yeah she's pregnant with the second baby finally and we're almost ready for the little one.
They really need a roof here lol.
All the sims err'day
Got our first bills.
This is where those extra frogs come in I sold down to ten for both Melana and Luca to pay the bills.
Used the money to finish up for the second baby could have gotten another nightlight but Joshua has only had one nightmare so things might be okay with that.
She got into the glade and they could fish a bit.
Lil munchkin.
Apparently it's hot here.
Yep...well it's still family time lol.
Almost lost again...
Warmer family time.
Eddie was born, and Joshua was not happy about it.
Was able to close in the second room and as the closed in room reward got rid of the decorations inside to get started on the third baby's stuff.
Just the way he looks at his mother hearing she's pregnant again
All the sims err'day
They aren't really part of this but I wanted to see who had babies, Eva had twins with Gavin Richards so I killed off Marcus to take one of the rooms. Yep.
I rotated to Diego and his wife they were paired up in mccc when I saw they were faithful to one another and expecting their first child I decided to keep them active.
It was a dark cloudy day and aside from Melana spending what money she doesn't have...meh...that sim there the red head in purple was just caught by her husband who is across from her cheating. I place a build and it was a restuarant and he was selected to work there didn't even see him as I was zoomed in. They were talking and flirting like all was well. She lost the first baby since there was no room in her house I had to move their pets and try again which is how they got to the restaurant. I went back and saw that Diego and Lacie were just about ready to have their son, Name him Deon.
Moving on I saved and went to the map screen to check on the families again where I saw that she, the red head was no longer in her family house. He divorced her and kicked her out...another mod...so now she's a single mom and feeling bad I went and moved her into a little place and got her ready for her third child as he kept the two other. Her lover is married too so she's on her own for now.
Also found her roaming around, see I saw that mccc let Siobhan marry Vivian Lewis and Dennis was missing thought he died but he also got himself a young wife she had his second daughter.
So yeah that's in the background of messing with Mel and her family, fun times right? Heh.
All the sims err'day
Well baby 3 was born, a little girl named her Paulina.
They immediately started for baby 4 according to mccc she's having twins, they won't be able to afford walls.
Family time
Things are hard from them.
But it was a push for him I suppose
Nice white out.
With the twins they had to head out, the kids were still sleepy but they need money, no date so of course the kids have to come.
I think they are just happy to be outside though.
So tired.
This is funny as he actually pushed his baby sister to hug his mom first then apologized like this.
Shame shame.
Parents of the year, we got started on some more baby furniture though, also had to finish Paulina's room selling some frogs and I reused a crib but whatever.
All the sims err'day
So we start off with a good mood.
Gone in their eating area.
Back again, I love how they look at one another they are determined to get the house finished though I believe bills are approaching again and I don't know if they'll be more than last time. I still breed the frogs every time they are ready so maybe selling the extras, always down to ten, will be able to pay for it.
Family trip to the library, joke was one us nothing spawned for them to collect.
Still the kids got to play for a bit before we took our second and final trip.
I put down something for the kids to play in and went looking for money mmhmm.
The poor dear looks so exhausted...that's a mod and it fits.
Family dinner of course as they have to cook every day I make sure no matter how tired they all eat and throw away the extras, the tots usually sleep through the night with their parents.
Christmas Eve they had a little fun with the plunge while the kids were asleep this was where I stopped so don't know if Father Winter will give us something we can sale. Time really flies with those extra families, Joshua will be a kid the first week of Spring, it also slows down the challenge aside from just limiting travel and adding certain things, which for me is part of the fun when I first tried didn't think I'd like it so much heh.
The bread didn't fill them up much which I pick different meals for cooking they ate all of that a few getting a second helping, but you know they don't have much money so sometimes they stay hungry a bit and we do sometimes cook twice in the same day.
Our house is in such a state but they were so exhausted they had to leave the kids to play, even though they couldn't really afford walls you might notice that extra wall by the beds near the parents room I added that and cut out a half wall to remember that is where the last room will be now. When it's completely closed in the reward sale decorations might give us a little bit I've also started selling 'dead' trees as they had added a few walls.
'The mayor' says they've almost done enough to get help from the 'lumber yard' yeah I guess if you wanted it to be harder you could stick to one season and just go with what you end with but I want the house completed they must remain in it until it's completely finished. Then they may not even have to leave.
All the sims err'day
Christmas Eve, she's so exhausted I guess she can't believe Santa is there.
She asked for a present, if you have an eve and main day yes you can sell the gifts for that one time of year.
Of course the house is a mess and I'm moving out cc so all their beds were cut and we needed the money to get the beds back, hard to see but a few things are also broken.
Twins Lucian (back) and Jasper were born.
A little family time squeezed in while I can't afford beds and the two just born weren't tired little baby girl had to sleep somewhere.
Blizzard, tired, have to use the bathroom and starving doesn't matter he has to go collect money for his family.
There was a glitch and father winter only belly laughed when he agreed still they had money to get the rest of the beds since they are cheaper than the separated combo.
Pregnant with the last baby mccc tells me it's a girl, I thought I'd only have Paulina.
Story time
How time flies.
All the sims err'day
I suppose it's not clear but as the kids get the basics of what they need there is more to putting the house together which I guess is obvious but if not evenutally things need to be upgraded at least a bit.
Family time with tots.
Of course we couldn't afford that, started selling the frogs, either down to ten or down to two.
Mama bear was determined to close in her house.
Unfortunately we had to wait to breed more frogs to repeat the process, while waiting dad of the year cycled four of the tots to get them fresh diapers and nice warm baths.
We got the money we needed and then some.
So I'll put the less attractive pictures from build mode in a spoiler but with the money we were able to upgrade and move things around, so as per the rule deleting the dead trees to make up for lumber getting rid of the chunks of wooden roof for supplies. Once rooms are closed in the extra vines and such you've added to show it's over grown can be sold as they are reward items. I closed in the rooms and will show closing in the holes in the rooms from them being incomplete as the rooms are tossed together. Also some lights were changed out this doesn't mean you can get rid of your storage they were moved the mayor doesn't approve of getting rid of the fireplace but there is someone who can move it. The sim's personal rewards would be some new furniture if the tots have what they need. So far they don't need tablets.
I have a glitch with something and may have to sell a room and put it back to see if that fixes it...or I could leave it I'll see but you know glitches happen and you can obviously fix those if you can think of something but if you do something that cheats you money you must cheat the extra money away I mean even with a few reward items and dead trees can't make it too easy right. I could close the areas in one by one tossing in doors if I had to. Accidentally hit v when taking pics but it doesn't matter.
So with that the next step is making it pretty getting wallpaper, better furniture and cleaning up the outside everytime you get money you'll be decorating it can't just be a shack the mayor is picky like that.
Though at least all the kids get closed in this year, ready for a make over? This is the time that clothes could be provided since notice has been gained people might just want to see you do well or fail depends on your enemies lol.
All the sims err'day
Anyways so at this point the mayor prepares extra supplies and new clothes for the family...so make overs.
She's quite big in her 2nd trimester.
It's like he never cooked before.
Now is not the time I suppose.
That face says....how could you he was hitting so you know.
Glad to relax.
Time to get back in shape mmhmm.
So while I noticed changing walls, like adding "paper" was free I changed the flooring and got some money back so I undid it to show you how...this is alright as the house is already closed in I didn't realize the flooring was so expensive compared to the replacement. Some of these pics might be out of order.
Hardly learned his lesson.
Anyhoo with this and starting to tweak things outside that part is over and it can be easy to get the hang of or harder depends on when you say they are allowed to earn money from collectibles. Now to make the place look nicer they still have tots to raise. They can't get jobs soon the tots can help more Joshua ages up first of course.
All the sims err'day
All the tots behaving so well while we wait for the last baby, took me a while I know but I had some issues in another house and I thought I'd have to move them to a new save but they are fine.
I only took this as it was funny I don't think I've ever seen a potty trained tot get up angry because they have to use the potty, usually they use their diapers He's getting ready to age up, not just yet I think their ages were jumbled a bit. Though soon.
Their sister wasn't hungry so she got to sleep in.
She's rejected him, but this time she said yes.
As far as progress, got the other bathroom essentially finished they are going to need more money to touch up the place perhaps they could save up for the streaming station and earn royalties from videos...hmm. Technically it would be continuous funds guess I didn't put that right obviously you're guaranteed to make money from collectibles when they spawn but they are okay because that is unavoidable see the point. Now painting a bit a day could work we'll save up for an easel, they still need a computer either way it would just look nice.
little army..
I feel like this text is new it should be I've never gotten it before.
Anyways let him come over, I guess he'd be a guest at the wedding.
No privacy even when they don't want anything, not a parent but I've had a niece and nephew they don't care when they want you lol.
The mayor offered a little make over.
That aside just waiting for age up while looking for new items they may soon get to fish a couple days a week always got to monitor funds, why don't frogs count...only for emergencies and you can never sell all of them...until the challenge is finished. Not even sure if anyone reads my notes for this but whatever
