Bust the dust

Is anyone else having problems withe vacuuming? All of a sudden Mel can't use any vacuums, I upgraded the one she had, no joy, replaced it with the same model, nothing, replaced with the other 2 models and still nothing. I called a maid and she couldn't vacuum either, everything is filthy and needs a deep clean. Halp! 🤣 Any ideas? Is red roan field bugged? Or tiny ranches?

    It is a longstanding bug

Did you change anything about the build when this happened? If you added any open areas, half walls, fences, or anything else that might cause a room to be newly recognized as semi-outdoors, that apparently prevents the room from being vacuumed and that part is by design.

@mightysprite, thank you so much! Yes, I just bought tiny living and sort of destroyed her house, the only thing left as a ceilinged room is the bathroom and she can't vacuum it either. So she lives in a 12sq ft. tiny house but isn't getting the 2x plant growth or skill gain, does that not work for vampires? It's a test save for a reason LoL. 😂🦹🦇

Hm, not sure-- this might be a silly question but since you just bought tiny living have you discovered that tiny houses are their own lot type? (distinct from residential) You need to select that lot type to get the bonuses.

That doesn't address inability to vacuum in the bathroom though...

Yes it is set to a tiny living lot type, all 12 sq feet. I saw on lilsimsies video if you put a section of wall down first then picked it up to connect to the other walls then add flooring it doesn't count against the tile count so I did it that way. The house was originally 314 tiles, not big by any means.

I use the round auto vacuums. Roombas? I have two, one upstairs and one down, and both are set to auto. Every now and again the dirt has to be removed, even though they are both upgraded to dump the dust on while docked. Other than that, all is well in my game.

@GalacticGal, Hi, I have one of those on each floor of the house in my legacy save, it makes it so much easier for the butler to keep clean all he has to do is empty them and repair them occasionally. I ended up turning the dust off for now. I'm going to move her to HoB where she hopefully won't be abducted every freaking play session LoL. 😂🦹🦇 Happy simming!
