Lazy Doctor!

I'm having problems with the Doctor in my game not taking care of patients. My Sim is told to "transfer a case" and when he/she does the doctor on duty just either stand at the analyzer machine working there or on the computer. She never goes check the patient and then my Sims shift is over and still can't give the medicine he is suppose to give. She seems to be a very lazy Doctor! Is there a reset for the NPCs or am I just stuck with this lazy one?
