I had this as apart of my Museum Update suggestions but since the discussion turned to Burglars
Burglars
When I think of Museums I think of all the movies I have seen with people planning an art or artifact heist. There is really a lot of potential with reintroducing Burglars back into the Sims.
As a reminder it doesn't have to be either or with burglars it can be both.- Burglar as a random lot occurrence. Residential or Commercial
- Burglar as a standard or active career
Burglar as random lot occurrence - Can happen at retail ons too
- Burglar shows up in the middle of the night, breaks in, no alarm, steals some things and gets away
- Burglar shows up in the middle of the night, attempts to break in but the locks foil them, they leave
- Burglar shows up in the middle of the night, breaks in but the security system goes off, cops show up and they attempt to apprehend - outcome dependent upon relative fitness
- Burglar shows up in the middle of the night, breaks in, homeowner confronts and fights them - outcome dependent upon the relative fitness
- Burglar gets arrested and a household member frees them from the police car.
- Police show up in a squad car
- Choosing to be a burglar/criminal career would be somewhat like choosing to be a Vampire or Werewolf where the skill set is determined by a list of choosable skills/traits. For Example
- Burglars get the Lock Picking Skill
- Burglars can get the Pickpocket Skill
- Burglars can have the ability to climb fences or avoid lasers
Those that can Fight or Foil Burglars
- Bonehilda scares the Burglar
- Butler fights the Burglar
- Detectives can catch crooks
- Dog scare off the Burglar. Can have them guard the house
- Ghosts can scare off the Burglar
- Servos chase the Burglar
- Vampires will always attack a Burglar - They always win and when they do, Yum. Like staying in and ordering Take Out. Chance to make the burglar their minion.
- Werewolves fight the Burglar - They always win
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03DS3kbTDTgBurglar as a career or active career- Casino Heists
- Corporate Espionage
- Burglary of Mansion lots
- Museum break in and theft (Art, Artifact, Famous Jewel)
- Retail Stores
Security Systems- Simple Panel for Residential or Retail Lots
- Grander security for higher stakes heists. Some of this would be cool for espionage
- Lasers
- Motion sensors
- Security Desks with monitors
- Cameras
New Lot Traits
- No Crime
- Low Crime
- High Crime
New Lots that Pertain to Crime
- Criminal Hideout
- Police Station

I'm looking for pieces to make the store for folks who own GTW
Also, some big biker type rings.
Some old silver spoons and forks jewelry might be fun too.
Also, some with colourful stones.
I like your thinking
Repose en paix mamie tu va me manquer :
1923-2016 mamie
For me, it’s TS1 nostalgia. I remember feeling so shocked whenever I heard that burglar music. It meant whatever plans I had were about to be upended. It’s fun when the unexpected happens. I wish it would happen more in TS4.
I agree about the unexpected nature of the burglars. I would really enjoy them getting the Vampire/Werewolf treatment where they have all these particular skills to choose from like lock picking or something more scammy. Also more advanced security systems for to try and circumvent for places like the jewelry store and museums.
If they add an advanced security system, maybe they could also add a sort of iconic big boss burglar that could target these advanced systems. Like Greg, but for burglars.
To me it's about the suspense of the game the game has been sunshine and rainbows for so long we need suspense in the game we can have the old play style like in Sims 1,2 and 3 where the burglar usually robbed you at night when Sims would sleep however I would like for a burglar to rob your sim when they are away from home they get an alert and they'll have time to get home call the police and the police will catch the burglar or like the jewelry store Burglars will might have to be a little more crafty and pick pocket or snatch items. I would like to request a toggle because I know a lot of people play style is not the same.
For myself, I like having different characters with various things to do and different types of gameplay. I have to say that I don't love the idea of random break-ins but I'd want to be able to call the police on them. Some players definitely would. There are sims in the game with careers as criminals who have the evil trait so it goes along with them. I do agree that it adds the potential for interesting stories or challenges just like playing a lot challenge does or following a scenario or legacy contest does. It's not my hill to die on at all. It just seems like these would go together.
I also really want jewelry in the fashion shops from get to work. I always set up a corner but would be nice if you can make your own fine jewelry store or sell it to a boutique.
The collectable jewels we have should be put towards that too.
Update I've been wishing for, the sim wears engagements and weddings rings exchanged. I thought it was an in game feature but I never seen it work.
