    Strange skin texture glitch

    This is very annoying :(

    In CAS the skin looks fine:

    Then in live mode it looks like she has a skin disease or something :anguished:

    (the screenshots are a little ugly, but I do have all settings turned up to max and I have a good computer)

    This only affects certain sims; her roomate's skin looks fine but some other townies have the same weird spots on them.

    Also, I'm using this custom skin (default version): http://kurasoberina.tumblr.com/post/137273135579/primer-hd-skin-for-all-ages-baby-elder-this-is
    I don't know if that makes a difference or not, but thought I should mention it. (my sims don't seem to look half as good with it as theirs do in the preview pictures though, is the skin even on my sims? :D )

    Has anyone else ever had this problem? It's very annoying and ugly :/

      I have seen that before with a custom skin. I don't remember which one it was, or whether is a high resolution skin or not. I got rid of the skin which was causing that blotchiness and used another skin.

      I've had the same problem when I've tried using kurasoberina's skins. I assume it's something either to do with our graphic cards or lack of hd mod.

      This is strange; none of the other custom skins I've tried out have done this

      I'll try a different resolution version of the skin and see if that changes anything; I picked HD+ (2K Faces & Bodies) but I'll try going down. I'll also download the non-default versions and see if they cause any issues

      Okay so I went back and downloaded the lowest resolution version, and the problem was still there when I loaded the game again; however, I found an odd workaround for it. If I take a sim with the glitched skin into CAS and change their skintone (as in picking a whole new one, not just using the slider), when I go back into live mode the problem is gone and they look fine.

      It's kind of silly though; if I see many townies in my game having the issue I'll just find a new skin to use instead. I don't feel like taking the entire town into CAS one by one :D

      I would suggest clearing cache if you haven't already just in case. This is important to do when you delete anything from your Mods folder.

      That creators skin is intended for HQ mod all though it is not required. I don't think that has anything to do with it but who knows. If you have integrated graphics that could be it too.

      I'm a little confused, but deleting those files fixed it. I'm confused because I know I did that earlier because the older files were still in the recycling bin :D Second time's the charm apparently. Thanks though; I probably wouldn't have gone back and tried again if you hadn't mentioned it. I've been roaming around town looking for townies and none of them seem to have weird skin anymore.

      Yep! I moved my sim into a house near her family's house, and her and my sim became fast friends just during the first visit without me even directing them to do so. So then I asked her if she would like to be my sim's roommate and she moved in. I changed her a little, but she was already cute so I didn't have to do much. (though I might change her hair back because the little part clipping through her neck really bothers me lol)

      Awesome glad to help. :) Yes she is a pretty sim. I love her striking blue eyes and pudgy cheeks.
