As promised, here is my starter home. It's bare boned, but I built it with the simmer's tastes in mind. Every sim has different taste, so I am giving a home they can decorate with their own stuff! Southern Start s$14,430 , And thanks @KraftySim! I am glad you liked my use of the sun. I was looking at that colonial and…
two en-suite and a further fuller bathroom....and by definition, an ensuite is like a water closet. Wow, that sounds tricky @shenice93 Edit: water closet is equal to that of a half bath, it's the old-worlde term for an outhouse attached to the house back when plumbing was finally introduced to the world.
This sounds like a job for Modders! Oh if only a modder out there did design some spooky stuff that we could use. I am a little hesitant about this challenge due to the fact that Victorian, while pretty and attractive, is a weak point of mine in architecture and design. I never was a big fan of New Orleans and England's…
I love all the starters here! I should post mine soon as I get the chance, just keep in mind that my idea of a starter is like a blank canvas. I do not furnish mine, just the bones of the house with plumbing and kitchen. Also some light landscaping. That way people can fill it up with their ideas, personality and such.
Hmmm... this request sounds interesting to me. Does Reece have a particular exterior design? I specialize in southern style but modern is something I can do as well. What are Reece's favorite colors? And should there also be a guest room? If you want to see my work, my gallery name is celdyson Edit: which neighborhood is…
Since it does seem to take the judges a while to judge, I am considering in helping with judging the starter category. Any news about challenge 2 results?
@ahholladay I am sure it is because I deleted those floor tiles, but I am not worried about it. Figure it just adds something to that vwall, so I went with it. Thanks for the concern
This competition I will have to skip. Didn't find out till today :/ shows how busy my life is. @Rostri-jodu, click the link and get his email. He wants you to zip photos to him that way
If you look at my slide show, you'd see the same thing with mine. I had simply assumed it was because I deleted the floor tiles to get that open feel that allowed it to do that. I had no idea it happened for a different reason @ahholladay

Here's a tip I have come to learn. Watch the enlargement trick. When you initially enlarge, the system does not recognize that the tile size has changed. When you save and come back later, you will find that the items you set around the enlarged object are deleted. Found this out the hard way, ugh
I did my double check on my house and decided to fix a few things. Now that I have the house to where I really like it and want to show it off, I will be taking photos and making my slideshow as soon as I can. So glad we are given two weeks to work on these challenges, gives up plenty of time to mess around!
@karababy52 if you don't want to bulldoze and you are worried about the depreciation, then try evicting your Sims in manage world and then go into building. Just know that bulldozing is not a bad thing, it can only be built better because you'll know what to look for now. I too want to see the results from challenge one in…
@keshialee and @EEtheridge, I have just now completed my house too! Came a good fair under budget thanks to the use of minimalist kind of modern style and the traditional colonial landscaping. Now to move onto screenshooting the Olsen's and the house. I am not entering for the room challenge, I do not have the confidence…
Traditional Colonial Landscaping is about the lawn while complimenting the house. You will have a walkway to the front porch line with flower beds and the shrubs along the front. The trees that are plant are either on the sides and/or back of the house or approx. half mile away from the house in the front, or small trees…
Geez! I have the building finally built after much trial and error, then I moved onto putting down main furniture with touches of decorating and now I have blown little over half the budget. Just on interior and building! A few more touches inside and then I get to tackle the landscaping... Groan, groan, complain,…
OK, I have the actual budget after lot price, and it stings. Lot S$1000 Budget Now S$90,000 I am not too sure how we can build a two bed, two and half bath main house plus in-law housing within that budget. Even I am kind of worried on this one... Edit: Sorry, I misunderstood. In-law housing is a challenge for later. I…
Sorry for asking, but what's a half bathroom? Is it like a toilet with a sink only? I also think the lot is too big for the budget/house they want. I don't know if I can enter this in time.... Also, we need to make sure another house can be on the lot, right? (Oooh, so many questions....) [/quote] Yes, half bath does mean…
Since I happened to be up at this time of the night, I figured I could help fellow simmers in locating all the entrants to Challenge 2 so that we can go back and admire each other's works. I certainly like going back to take a look! Challenge 2 Entrants & Page number:* @Lavender pg 14 * @Trashdocka pg 16 * @Asphyxiateddoll…
Lol @DieterPrivate, you tricked me. I loaded your sim into my game just to double check and I wound up finding out that great minds think alike. Our sims look extremely similar to each other but I found the differences and am happy to report that yours is entirely original. Phew, that had me worried. I apologize if this…
When anyone played the Douglas character for play testing, did your Designer sim end up getting romanced by Douglas? My jaw dropped when Lizzie wound up romanced
Just remember that this is simply a challenge to you to show us your ideas as a designer no matter what level you are. The most important part of these challenges is to have fun! Side note: it took me three bulldozes to find my inspiration
