  • Neither. Not really. I'm here for the story-telling. To set something up and then see how it works out. I like struggle and hardships and getting my sims out of it, and once the story is complete (in my mind) I move on. I've always been a writer, this is just another form of creating stories.
  • Thank you @suetoop It's always fun to hear that someone likes your story, so I very much appreciate your comment. I will try to keep some attention to the thread while I am away so that I don't miss anything, otherwise I look forward to seeing you on the new forum (if we ever get an opening date). I'm JesLet40 over there.
  • A summer of transitions As summer starts, it's Nash's time to be reached by the news of a death as his aunt, Emelie's mother, is dead. While he cannot make it in time for the funeral, Nash still wants to makes the trip to pay his respect to his uncle and cousins. After all, for a good many years, until well after the death…
  • No mention of hotels. Had they been a part of the pack it would have been mentioned. Like others have already said, this definitely seems like a very nice GP sold at EP price. I will definitely get it at some point, when it cost about the same as a GP normally does.
  • @Gagea I had the issue with the radiators too, but no, this is the cursed book event not resolving. It's a known bug and very annoying. Turning rental events off before playing would prevent it from happening, but unfortunately you can't turn them off individually. It's all or nothing.

  • @Simmerville I use b/b mode all the time. Since I have constant fires, I need to replace curtains and rugs all the time! I haven't experienced much lag when doing so. However, you cannot edit units you do not live in, and you cannot edit the configuration of a house as long as there is a tenant in them (to add rooms, or…

  • I know many have massive problems with the pack, but for my part I have only ever had problems with one build which is so corrupted that I can neither delete it nor change it. As long as I don't hover the mouse over that one build however, the rest of the save is fine, and I have used the feature a lot! The one - really…

  • Life goes on, but will the world? After a week on the road, the family returns home to Chestnut ridge. While Anna and Josephine are heartbroken at the loss of their father, family life still calls as its time to Barbara to start school! They keep her birthday simple and just for the family, feeling it is inappropriate to…
  • Thank you for the tips, I'll look into that. And if someone else has something, please continue with the tips. The story can be found here: The Whittaker Saga . It started in 1890s Louisiana with single teacher Abigail looking for a husband, and is now on gen 2 heading into gen 3 as WWII starts.
  • I wasn't so much looking for homes, though thank you so much for offering! What I was looking for are builds connected to the war itself. Military camps, battlegrounds, airfields, field hospitals, bombed out buildings... I have found an airfield and a costal defence bunker, and a ship which unfortunately did not work for…
  • A death in the family Having competed once, Anna has got a taste for the thrill, and so for the next few months she enters her horses into competition regularly. She focuses on the stallions, leaving Ranger to spend time with her foal. Both Starbuck and Crimson loves competing, and have quite a few wins as they rise…
  • @Simmerville I really hope you're wrong, mostly because I really want multipurpose lots and hotels. :) I also think the mechanics of making rental units would be similar to the multipurpose lots, so that makes sense, as well as the idea of a bistro underneath apartments. Besides, even if you're not a builder, the venue…
  • I kept it almost exactly as is, with a few changes to the bar area and addition of a thermostat. I haven't used it much tough.
  • Not quite, some of the food has been available for some time. My sims ordered the meat and cheese platter as late as this morning and I have not gotten the new kit. Some of the other foods I've tried before. I do have a question, with the new kit, does the option of coffee come on all bars or just the one in the kit?
  • I kept the beach bar, added a restaurant, turned one of the beaches into a beach-spa (with LMS professional employees mod to make it functional while still being able to use the beach venue instead of the spa-venue since it has too many requirements). I also made a normal beach lot, a "library" which is really a Marine…
  • I usually mod it out so it's not a big problem, but right after new patches I usually play vanilla until mods get updated, and everytime it borthers me. It bothers me that it lights up. It bothers me that it has pop up text that won't go away unless I click it. It's intrusive and annoying. At the same time I have between…
  • You could already before this sit on the pools edge and talk to someone in the pool. I do not know how you'd sit inside the pool, and as far as I know you can't, but a sim will thread water near the edge to talk to someone on the edge. The cuddling on the pools edge is also base game.
  • With the two kits being based off France, could it be that the riviera is the inspiration for the expansion pack too? Thinking Marseille, Cannes, Nice? Lots of colorful houses, and it would fit with the idea that the kits were the leftovers that couldn't be roomed in the pack for whatever reason (hopefully because gameplay…
  • I'm also in Sweden and did notice it. The old kits are still the same price, but the new ones are more expensive.
  • moules marinières Thank you so much for the give away. Enter me please!
  • The Caribbean or Hawaiian islands Thank you so much for the give away. Enter me please!
  • @aelias24 I noticed the same thing with the windows keys, I couldn't switch between programs, which I do a lot when in CAS or when building. (reporting it)

  • @PandoraTO Thank you, but that much I knew as I did read the patch notes. My questions was more about if anyone with insights to dx11 vs dx9 could make a qualified guess on just how much it would effect mods and CC and if it just mean waiting for them to update and then use them at will, or if it's a "no you can't ever use…

  • Anyone who knows how badly the dx11 might affect mods and cc? I have a lot of older cc - would I be able to keep those? I'm guessing newer mods and CC will just be updated, but I am worried about the older ones. Any input from those who knows more than me would be appreciated.

  • What does it mean to log in? I just launched my game after updating and nothing popped up. I too am hoping for something bigger than this, as things like this just annoy me generally (but yes, the bar looks good, as does the trait). But nothing like this showed up for me.

  • Almost all of the above (apart from columns which I don't mind at all). But overall, excessive landscaping, excessive clutter, excessive shelving - in one build every single window was doubled for no reason whatsoever... Overall, I find many builds overdone. They might look fantastic at first glance, but with so much stuff…
  • Starting to rebuild a community As 1934 rolls around, the mood in the Sinclair-Lemotte house is a bit hampered by the events of the previous year, but everyone still tries to remember the things they are grateful for. Their five healthy children, each other, the house they have, the animals on the farm. And life is better…
  • @GlacierSnow I completely agree. Although I have to say I like the feature of optional/recommended (I can't remember how they are labeled) objects on for example communal lots. It let's me use the best feature about the required object thing (being able to click on something and getting everything out of that category at…
  • An interlude Sometimes, the game just surprise me and throws me off and this time I feel I need to share it with you all. After I decide not to follow a specific sim, I turn on neighborhood stories and deactivate them as played sim, and let the game and MCCC have their way with them. I still keep them in "my sim" and keep…
  • I feel in general I could stop that headline after "Players should have more control" Vendors, uniforms, who is allowed where, what furniture belongs in what type of venue... basically if something could be controlled by the player it should be. With that said, I absolutely agree with you.
