I'm just hoping that it will really be a hit for those simmers who are dissatisfied with EA and the Sims Franchise. I really hope this game, or Paralives, turns out to be all they're looking for. The way I see it there's room at the table for everyone.
@simgirl1010 I agree! Something for everyone! And what I really hope is that they're all uniquely "different" from each other.
All of them will have things we don't really care for and wish this or that was in it like such-in-such game has (similar to how people always compare the older Sims games to each other).
I know for myself that there are things I personally miss from older TS2 and TS3 that aren't in TS4, but when I go back to play those games, I also realize that there are things that I do actually miss that TS4 has that the other games don't.
I actually heard Rod Humble say Emergent Gameplay.
That remains to be seen, but that's the enjoyable part of simming for me when something emerges out of these many interacting systems that is surprising and fun and you just roll with it. It's really boring when you decide to do something that's general game play and you do exactly that, and it's nearly the same experience every time.
I always craft my game to my liking with mods. With LBY, it will be easier for me to do it myself.
And I really miss the open world and create-a-style, but not enough to have TS3 and TS4 on my computer, so I went with the newer experience.
The real conversation system interests me, but it would have to be as they say, not the same exact conversation every time, and it must be driven by traits, moods, relationships and goals.
What I am currently concerned about is the lack of any coherent art style. It looks like the game is cobble together using different sources/build tools, or what have you, that bring their own look to the game so far and it doesn't look good. It's all realistic looking, but not in a unifying way.
I could be wrong but I also personally believe that people over estimate the power of modern computers. I do not believe a computer can handle top notch graphics, sims 3 open world, color wheel 500 sims in zone, and all the complexities people want in a sims game. Computers no matter how new they are just can't handle it.
And the open world ultra graphic games we have are not sims games. The level of complexity cannot be compared.
I agree with the poster in here that says this seems intended to be more like roblox. They provided the base and tools and modders will make the game.

What specs are your computer?

Sims 3 can't run on your computer?
After following tutorials online about how to make ir run smoothly I did manage to make it run yes. But not without lots of lag and studdering rather in or out of CAS. Glitches and crashes that made me quit the game. And I never added mods or cc.
As I understand the conversation system one could write the characters dialogue, my question is will the charcaters reaction reflect what they say. Imagen A and B first arguing about what to do in a certain situation, and then in the end agree what is best to be done. Will the charcters be able to act out this drama?!

No idea, but I doubt it. That would take some pretty advanced programming which would need a very advanced computer to do it I'm thinking.
HUGE new details compiled by a Reddit user from Rod Humble interviews. I’ve learned so much. Read it all! I love the bit about rotational gameplay and how all the NPCs actually live in the world. Kind of like creating a fully contained economy! Credit to u/Loveyl3ug (post)
@LeGardePourpre I believe I saw it mentioned in this thread that the rating is PEGI 16.
PEGI 16
This rating is applied once the depiction of violence (or sexual activity) reaches a stage that looks the same as would be expected in real life. The use of bad language in games with a PEGI 16 rating can be more extreme, while the use of tobacco, alcohol or illegal drugs can also be present.
ETA: I looked back through the thread and didn't see the rating info. Maybe I saw it somewhere else. 🤔

PEGI 16 on paper but I doubt this game will be popular for its "kid friendly" side.
It would be nice to try out Life By You. But unfortunate, I’m running on low specs. It makes me wonder if this game do come out do well maybe after September 12 release, will Rod Humble and Paradox ever thinking about finding away to make the game running on low specs for those who can’t get high specs PC? But if not, I will stay & trying out the sims 5 & Paralives that can run on low specs if both do well.
I've learned so many new details about gameplay for this game today.
You can create new "needs" if you wanted, like if you wanted to have a frisky person, you could make one of their needs be "woohoo'ing"
There will be white vans driving around the world, but these are not background fillers. They are actually NPCs delivering food to other NPCs who ordered it
You can actually be the delivery person if you wanted
There will be public transportation if you don't own a car (a bus)
You can follow the mailperson as they're delivering the mail (or even be the mailperson)
If you create an online store, things you sell in it will be delivered to the customer
You can set the hourly wage of your employees if you own a business
Your person will have what is called "obseravables", basically they observe, learn, and remember things that happen every day and what they learned could impact the future, such as if your person noticed a co-worker was late, later in the week they might tell a friend of theirs about that incident, and that friend might just happen to be the late person's boss and will effect their job performance
Learning and observing things can help with creative careers .... such as being around romantic people (or being romanced) could improve your writing if you write romance novels
There will be no violence (emotional or physical) or any type of illness in the basegame, but players are free to install any mods for that if they choose
All of this information was in various interviews with Rod Humble over the last few days.
