Hey all,
I recently went to play the sims 3 on my new laptop. I went through the joys of getting the game to recognise my graphics card which is nvidia geforce gtx 1050, then I went through the joys of capping my frame rates to 60 same as my laptop display, which i eventually managed. The problem I have is that my laptop screen resolution is 1920 x 1080 and so the UI and text in game is really small. If i change the screen resolution in game it causes screen tears so I then have to run it in windowed mode. Fair enough, but it still looks really off. I used borderless gaming which then meant I had to turn my display scale for windows down to 100% instead of 125% which means the the text on my OS becomes super tiny. This seems like a lot of hassle to keep changing settings just to play the sims 3! So I cant be the only one that is having these issues, what can I do?

It works in Sims 3 even for laptops with dual-card setups.
Or, if the only issue with setting DPI to 100% is the size of the on-screen text, you could try this instead:

Do you know how to fix this problem on a Mac?
