@Bonxie
Your build is gorgeous! The waterfalls are beautiful and the how you've structured the houses is really nicely done. So creative, absolutely amazing
Thank you very much. I'm glad you like it.
Bonxie: Great Skua, stercorarius skua. Meet me on Fair Isle.
My favorite world is Selvadorada from Jungle Adventure. It's beautiful, authentic and there are a lot of awesome objects, which are useful in a lot of build situations. But... there is also this museum, the "Alam Museum of Archaeology". It’s situated in the “Puerto Llamante Marketplace” neighborhood, close to the famous bar “Cantina El Arbol del Jaguar” on the 64x64 lot. Those of you who own the pack might remember - if you have ever been there. Honestly, there is nothing much to see and it's quite simple from the aspects of building. If you don't own Jungle Adventure – here is a picture of the premade lot:
In my opinion you haven't missed anything if you never visited that lot so far. There is pretty much room for improvement. Come on EA, you can do better. Those breathtaking Mayan Jungle Metropoles, which have certainly served as your reference, look definitely different (for example Tikal in Guatemala).
Of course, you can also look at it positively: EA has given us a lot of leeway for further development. From the moment when I visited that lot for the first time, it was clear to me, that I want to overhaul this lot to do a little more justice to the originals. So here is my version of the "Alam Museum of Archaeology".
The building to the left is the platform of the water and weather deity, because of the basin in front of the temple building. The building on the right side is commonly called “The Observatory” because of its shape. It’s not known whether it was really used for astronomical reasons, but due to the glyphs at bottom of the stairs, it was identified as the “Pyramid of the Moon”. In the background towers the majestic “Pyramid of the Sun” as the central sanctuary and most important building of the whole complex.
The view from a sim’s perspective approaching the site in the morning light.
I hope you like it. Thanks for watching.
Bonxie: Great Skua, stercorarius skua. Meet me on Fair Isle.
Your makeover of the lot in Selvadorada is very lovely! @Bonxie The design of the pyramid is creatively great! The architecture of it and the two buildings on either sides are very nice! The observatory with dome roofing is lovely! It is great reading the background details that you wrote about the buildings and what you have named them.
It is very great replacement of the original lot!
@Bonxie what a fantastic build! I love how each structure is shaped differently. It's so grand, and thoughtful - with the different stairs, and shapes, and statues - and feels realistic. Really wonderful work
I too Love Selvadorada @Bonxie and agree with you and yes EA I think encourages us to build there Your Museum is stunning I love it. I often think of the Indiana Jones Movie Crystal Skull one with the Temple its amazing and I have thought of trying to build one but have not yet. If you didnt use Tool or CC when uploaded I can see this build getting a Maxis Fave for you hard work and great vision
@bbdarlingo8s Thanks! I was surprised. Your waterfront venue is grand!
@Bonxie I am in awe. That is one beautiful looking build.
@illusie The Mint house makes me smile. That's like one of the houses that pass by when you're a little kid and say "I want to live in that house. It's my favorite color!"
@grallonsphere I like where you're going with that tower judging by the shot. Can't wait to see the rest.
Thank you all for your positive feedback. This is very encouraging.
I am very interested in the mesoamerican and precolumbian cultures but unfortunately I haven't had the chance so far to visit the Maya sites on the Yucatan Peninsula (like Chichén Itzá, Palenque or the quoted Tikal) or the famous Teotihuacán in Mexico.
Many of those awesome buildings were my inspiration when I started to build. I linked the matching Wikipedia articles, which contain pictures of the original structures.
The Aztec built platforms with water basins for the Azetec rain deity "Tlaloc", who played an important role in the Aztec pantheon. Also one of the main temples of Tenochtitlan was dedicated to Tlaloc. Tenochtitlan was the Azetec capital, which is now buried under Mexico City https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tenochtitlan.

Got a new wedding venue coming up! Decided not to go for a church, rather a sort of banquet hall. I thought about completely decorating the interior, but I wanna wait until I can get my hands on the pack first. For now though, Im going to focus on landscaping.
Your WIP wedding venue is lovely! @InuMiroLover Very great exterior design and the balcony windows are very nice! The water fountains features are pretty! Very nice triple door entry.
@Bonxie the level of detail in your builds really reflects your research - it's really wonderful how you create, and bring that time and culture "to life"
@grallonsphere I just saw the finished build! Great build - so many beautiful and thoughtful design choices
@luckyheather I am very much looking forward to your venue! And your honest opinion of the new pack
@InuMiroLover very pretty! Really like the color scheme so far, that mix of dark walls with white columns, and the fountains are a nice touch!
I'm also working on a venue, but actually two because I can't stop making venues... does anyone else feel like that yet?
Hi @bbdarlingo8s I hope you like it when its finished I bought the pack and had a look at build/buy and there are some lovely items and very useful things also in debug. I dont know why they put new trees in debug as I know they are free but they do not add anything to the environment. I was trying to add an arch and chairs plus flower vases to the Aisle but found I think only a couple of wood tones in the chairs and some chairs the vases dont match, so because of the lack of wood choice and having to match flowers with those wooden ones, I kept changing my mind and still not happy having to use really pale flowers in a bright coloured venue. So I am going to try again this morning as many of the chairs are a colour not wood. I will add 2 Screenshots below and show you what I was trying last night, the build is colourful and I am not finished yet, hopefully today.
Btw I do have more Mural Art by NaJoPau I can chose from, I liked this one as it looks like you are looking down on a town
The 2 choices I am still not sure about
This Round Arch does not have blue flowers like chairs
The Stone Arch I think has 1 flower colour on it
I just put my Lot in Tartosa and boy is is bright there! The yellow kitchen I created hurts your eyes! so re-thinking that room.
Here are some chairs and flower holders that show matching them is not easy, the pinks vary and lack of wood tones for builds with wood being chosen already. The pinks are pale and I wanted a strong pink and red will not work for me.
More Pictures
3 Pieces of Pink used in a ready made lot in Tartosa...dont match
Wood tones, the left I can use but the flowers are red
Showing the different pinks supposed to match. Taken in evening light as its bright in Tartosa
The two wedding arch areas are very lovely! @luckyheather Whichever one you choose will look very nice!
Even though the first arch doesn’t have blue flowers, the arch flowers and chair flowers look lovely together.
Thank you @rosemow I have now added my lot to Tartosa as Oasis sunshine is so yellow and I found Tartosa is very bright and the yellow kitchen in the build hurts your eyes! So that will change. Its going to be hard to decide on the wedding area flowers as I wanted bright flowers but not red and blue is pretty but does not match the build, maybe I am too fussy Lol but I do have to like my own creation before uploading
@luckyheather I saw you post this earlier this week, but it was really late at night here so I didn't reply, but what you said about the wood choices was 100% understandable and challenging.
The finished build is stunning! Pulling in more color with the flower stands and the bouquets on the columns was a great idea, and I hope you were happy with how it turned out. Also, that mural is fantastic; it feels really grand - and I personally am happy you went with the stone arch. I think it paired really well with the mural.
I also cannot get over the view from upstairs looking down, and the details on the balcony!
Absolutely amazing work
Thanks @bbdarlingo8s its really testing my patience when I cant use what I want to and have to just use what there is, thats what I miss about Sims 3 being able to colour things so easily and with patterns I made myself, it was amazing.
Colour has always been my thing above anything I do as have always been Artistic and have done so many different crafts over the years including designing jewellery with crystal beads so colour is everything
Im glad you like the Mural by NaJoPau and the stone arch that I love so much and I will use it quite a bit I think as I like the ruin pieces. I love a balcony inside or outside I often add them to builds or a rooftop garden is fun for the sims.
I started this 'Fantasy Manor' ages ago and it has got left in Windenburg and I cant remember what I was doing with it and I am still in the mood for using the new Tartosa map, so I do not know if I will finish it yet, but here are screenshots of what is done so far. It has blue and railings are green, inside blue country counters in the kitchen.
Your Fantasy Manor is very pretty! @luckyheather The exterior design, balcony and the roofing are lovely! The yellow flowerbox windows are cheery and pretty. The wall clock is a special touch. The flowers look very nice on top of the fountain.
