I voted for 2022 but I think we will also have that full year aswell, They did say at the very beginning, that the sims 4 is going too be the longest one yet, 6 years is a normal life span of a sims game, soo it's much longer than that 😊, I think the soonest time is 2023 tbh
I don’t know what I’ve said before but now with the new info on the next Sims related iteration being in the prototype stage I’d say 2023 at the earliest is when the Sims 4 will end.
The sooner Sims 4 ends, the lower the quality of Sims 5.
Unlike the lagginess of Sims 3, they don't need to make a Sims 5, they just need to fix Sims 4 with its locked up babies and missing lifestates.
Exactly this. They can build so much more upon ts4! It's very stable in that regard. And the way people are rushing them to bring out an unfinished game scared me. They will announce it when it's done and ready. I personally think we have years before then.
If the job listings are any hint then they are still building the prototype and that could take a while. Their recent job listing promised work for at least 2 years.
What I am mostly interested in seeing right now is if they have enough people to work on two games at the same time. I know they have separate teams but they are going to need a lot of people to go into full production.
Honestly, it will probably be several more years. Another thought: if they make TS5 be more of an online/pay to play type of game then they may keep TS4 going for the players that don't want to take part in the new set up. Speculation and guessing, of course. Who's to say when they will stop making packs for TS4 since it's still lucrative?

I don't consider seven years (you are now in the seventh year which will be celebrated Sept. 2021) rushing them to bring out a game. It's been six 1/2 already. I don't see anyone rushing. TS4 should have ended about two years ago. Piecemealing sure has been lucrative and why it's even gone past a four or five year time line.

I am still pushing for a late 2020 announcement but serously now can see anannocment in lateas ian afer chritmas 2021as an optmistic prediction if you have ever used Unreal you will undestand how quickly you can mkake prototype of a game in that we may see a trailer in 2022 like the orignal one with grant and Kim Jong Un (you know where they die of lauhter) thei could see a full relise 2023/24 not allowing for slipage time.
I think it will probably end in the next couple of years, but I am going to try not to buy the Sims 5 for probably a couple of years after it comes out. Even as I am saying that I know how unlikely that is. I just want to wait until there are a couple of expansion packs to play with. New Sims games never feel like they have enough content without them.
Idk but it’s not happening soon enough. I have a feeling they’re gonna milk this game as much as they can... more packs and more content until the game is barely playable. *sings* Cash rules everything around EA. C.R.E.A.M, get the money, dollla dolla bill y’all! 😂😂😂😂 lol
I would say at least a year... and there would most likely be advertising for six months or so prior to release. Truly though, TS4 is in such a good place, primed for any number of expansions and new ideas to be introduced into the game. The new background animations and such lead me to believe there could be cars or more vehicle options in the future. Additionally, most players still want there to me more in TS4- nursery stuff, more activities to do with infants, farming, more worlds and activities, more familial interactions, such as teaching children to ride bikes or swim, and so much more. There is so much room for expansion, I doubt the creators will move on to TS5 anytime soon ) Or atleast I hope not!
I'm thinking after all the stuff that's come out recently, the game will officially "end" in 2022 but 5 will be previewed and announced at Gamescon this year (same as 4). They're already prototyping so it seems likely that they'd be ready by Fall to display an early prototype.
Plus kits seem like a way of rolling out any other packs they want as quickly as possible, like they're taking any ideas for future stuff packs and just squashing them down to these smaller packs to get them out. It's also the same as they did with 2, in Sims 2 they released the store not long before 3 was officially announced which allowed players to buy smaller bits of content, and we now know that was a test for the Sims 3 store so I think the kits are the same.
They've never made the iterations compatible with each other. However, CC makers have often converted objects from one iteration to another for free.
They've always left previous iterations "as is," but modders have always stepped in where the devs left off, so even though devs will move on to TS5, there will be modders and CC makers still working on TS4, just like with TS3 and TS2.
A good consolation to ending TS4's run is that the mods for it no longer need to keep updating and in a sense, the game becomes "stable" as time goes on and people find ways to fix its bugs or find work-arounds for them.
In other words, it's not the end of the world when an iteration ends. The modders and CC makers, and even its players with the stories and challenges they make up for it will keep it fresh.
Yeah, I know they haven't but that was years ago and doesn't mean that things need to be done in the exact same way again. I don't play with mods or CC so while I'm aware that's a benefit for others, we all take a different approach and want different things.
Some things can be fixed in this version. Some complaints aren't universally shared. For example, in my current game, I don't really have a need for story progression. I enjoyed TS3 while I played it but prefer some aspects of TS4. While I liked the open world, I didn't really like centering my play around one household per save. I remember switching saves a lot which I don't do now.
I'm not going to say whether or not I'll get a hypothetical game about which no actual details have been shared, but I actually also think that Paralives looks interesting.
I do think a transition that incorporates more of what people are asking for makes more sense than starting all over. I'm not asking for everything that others are though I agree with some common complaints. I do think the sims could be more reactive, that the game could be less childish, that some aspects of the game need updating, etc. I don't necessarily want to play in the same way that others do though.
I also have sims with several years of development in terms of story lines, so, yes, just throwing a new version at me doesn't mean I'll switch immediately or ever. A transition to a compatible new version with a lot of flexibility might interest me.
Yeah, I enjoy playing rotational in the sims 4. My main save has been going, and re-saved several times since 2014. I like playing sims who know and interact with each other in various ways. Get togethers club system really helped to expand this as each sim can have at least 3 cliques to hang with. My daughter makes clubs interact with each other. Something I haven’t really explored yet. There are several things I’d like to see in the sims 4 before it ends. Hotels, casino stuff, freed babies, cars, farms with livestock, much more stuff geared toward other sims besides young adult, amusement parks, zoo’s, water parks, houseboats, cruise vacation. I hope we have a couple years left to the game and they bring out at least 4 more expansions and several more game packs. I like the new kits they brought out. Love the country kitchen, so many different pieces to it that you don’t see till getting into the cabinet section. I spent hours the other day creating a small kitchen in a small house trying different cabinets pieces out. There are so many things I haven’t explored in so many of my packs, but still always wanting more.
I hope I can play rotational in the sims 5, that you have to buy your clothes, food etc, in it. I hope it starts with being able to have groups, and retail. That babies are freed from the beginning, toddlers are included, and I wouldn’t mind at least 3 or 4 more life stages were added. young children and older children broken into 2 groups. pre teen, and a life stage between adult and elder. Cars and at least cats and dogs should come early in the game rather than later.
I'd be happy with Sims 5 coming out next year and Sims 4 going on with kits for those who don't want to go on to Sims 5. I don't like games' series coming to an end. I get lots of enjoyment out of building and playing rotationally in the current iteration.
It's probably a race between EA's new iteration and Rod Humble's new game now. Paralives won't be strong enough to cope with both without a huge cash injection.

I completely agree, this is exactly what I'm thinking.

But they are milking sims 4 (a game that’s ok but can only handle so much) to death.
A part of me doesn’t care if we get a sims 5 or not, I just think we will be getting sims 4 stuff for many, many years.
(I’m going to bang my head on a desk)
