Hey everyone! This is my first attempt at a oneroom challenge and my first attempt at capturing/loading screenshots. Basically...I'm a total newbie with TS4. :#

Theme for the week: A girl's bedroom reflecting her future career
Gallery name of room: Engineer in Training
    Origin id: AndyMeadeson
Story: Jenny is a youngster interested in all things traffic related and loves tinkering with her model car collection. Who needs traffic lights when you can have roundabouts? She is interested in pursuing a career as a transportation engineer and convinced her parents to help decorate her small bedroom accordingly.
Thanks to @FruitLoops40 for the "No parking" artwork.

Thankyou very much for joining us and posting your first challenge room! @AndyMeadeson :) I will look forward to seeing your entries in future week's challenges also!
Engineer in Training is a lovely bedroom for a girl who is interested in traffic related things and wants to be a Transportation Engineer :) The design, layout and furnishing of the room is so very nice and very creative ! The dresser wall area with the red, yellow and green traffic lights made out of the wall pictures and vases looks so very creatively great! The three traffic lights coloured ceiling lights are great! The stop sign, no parking sign and arrow look great on the walls, and very nice round floor rug to reflect a roundabout! It is very nice the way that Jenny has displayed her model cars on the wall shelves. The green coloured side and end walls and the green wood with yellow stripes bedhead wall looks very nice. The yellow stripes either sides of the bed creating a nook is very nice. The fruit picture, books, beauty items, tissues, sports photo on the dresser top, bedside book table and on the stool are nice homely touches. Very nice study desk corner for her to enjoy using the computer or reading the study books to prepare for her future career. It is great that there is a noticeboard for her to keep track of her activities and studies requirements. It is a great touch that her school bag is in the room. The red, yellow and green traffic lights colour scheme of the room is lovely!
It is a very nice traffic themed bedroom for a girl who dreams of being a Transportation Engineer! Thankyou again very much for entering this week’s challenge :)

@AndyMeadeson Such a great idea with the posters and lamps combined to make traffic signals. I wish that feature showed on the gallery view.

Mentioning this because you said you're newer to the game... There's a camera button that will change the angle while saving a room, I've spent a good amount of time on my builds trying to choose the best gallery pic.

Thanks for the feedback and the welcoming, @rosemow @icanhassims and @wendyology!

It was a lot fun trying to work within the game's constraints to do what I had in mind. Originally, I had hoped for making the black and yellow "road" wall pattern extend across the floor, but found it wasn't really feasible. Finding decor that was the red/yellow/green combo within my few packs, like the posters and wall sconces, was also an interesting challenge.

Thanks for the tip about gallery view angles. Do you think I should remove and re-upload to the gallery? (And then edit my previous post with the new link?)

    Thanks again!

My Father-in-law passed away last Sunday and we were really busy with all the service preparations and then the funeral.

My husband and I are leaving for our Anniversary trip in about an hour. We will be gone for two weeks. I'm looking forward to some nice relaxing time in the sun by the beach.

@WrathofCath so sorry about your loss. I hope you and your husband have a lovely trip. Happy Anniversary and Bon Voyage.

Just saying hello and giving an update. Won't participate this week.

The surgery wasn't as smooth as it should have been - it lasted 3,5 hours instead the typical 1 h and instead 1 surgeon, I had 3 - they struggled to get the new cord in place that it would work well enough and during that they accidentally punctured a hole in my heart. Because it was under local anesthesia, it was rather painful at times as the anesthesia effect ran out as the surgery lasted and lasted, so wasn't all the nice experience. They needed to add more anesthesia 8 times and more pain meds 4 times. I was released from the hospital the same day but was very sore the first days. Also the wound was bleeding after but everything is getting better now. Just saw a wound care specialist nurse today and she said the wound looks nice and changed the dressing. I really, truly hope the keloid won't return. I'll get cortisone treatments to it next month and have to use special anti-scarring wound dressings for couple months at least.

Have fun simming :) Too early to start building for me yet.

@Gwiniel that sounds horrific. *gentle hugs* Sending you healing and all the good vibes possible. I hope you heal fast and are pain-free soon.

You’re welcome @AndyMeadeson :) You could just leave your bedroom as it is , but when uploading creations in the future try seeing which is the best photo to use.

Slam Dunk is a great bedroom for a girl who wants to make Basketball as her career! @AlJay :) Very nice red and yellow colour scheme to reflect the school colours of the University that she wants to attend and the basketball net shape of the room looks great! Very nice basketball themed furnishings! It is great there is a basketball net in the room for her to practise! She will like storing her items in the lockers. The sports items on the ground near the locker are great for her to take and use outside. The messy clothes on the floor beside the hamper is a great touch! The school banners, pennant and sports posters look great on the walls! Very nice design of the study desk and bookcases area! She will like sitting there using the computer to do her studies in preparation for applying for a basketball scholarship. It is special that her sporting trophies and awards that she has won are proudly on display there. Very nice corner nook with the towels and water bottle for her to use and drink after playing basketball in her room. The school bag is homely there. Very nice bed alcove! The basketball themed lights are very creatively great! The semi circle rug near the door is a great basketball court themed touch.
It is a very nice bedroom for a girl who dreams of having a Basketball career! Thankyou very much for entering this week’s challenge :)

Do you mean the one that shows under the gallery photo after you click 'save to gallery'? Or is there something else? Because I have such a hard time getting a good room photo for the gallery and I would love to know if there is a way to control that more. I know the little camera button in the upload screen shows different angles, but still only two or three and they're usually all not great :disappointed:

Jenny knows what she wants to be when she grows up - the biggest celebrity Sims YouTuber ever, and she doesn't want to wait to get started on her career! Her parents have let her make one end of her room into her studio and she keeps it spotlessly beautiful....not quite so tidy in anything off camera though!!

Jenny isn’t an ordinary girl. Daring and rebellious, she takes her young steps through life, led by an eccentric artist’s heart. In order to fully live out her artistic disposition, her parents cleared the garage for her. A place that she can design all by herself.

Teen YouTuber is a lovely bedroom for a girl who wants to be a celebrity YouTuber! @AliSim19 :) The pink colour scheme is very pretty and it looks very nice the way that half of the room is her studio, with pretty pink curtains dividing off the areas. The design of the studio section is very nice! The video station is very nice in the corner nook for her to use, and the Sims posters look great on the walls. It is nice that there is a sofa there with lovely flowers and pretty candles beside it for guests to sit on and be interviewed for the video. The string lights on the wall are pretty! The bed area is lovely! The floor looks a bit messy with books, clutter, her hairdryer and her school bag on the ground! Very nice combined vanity table and study desk, for her to enjoy using the beauty items on the desk to prepare herself for her video taking as well as enjoy browsing the internet on the computer. The patterned curtains are pretty! The clothes and shoes racks are homely touches. The Sims and other posters look great on the walls! She will enjoy sitting on the sofa watching tv or playing console games, and it looks great that the tv is on the stack of books and case. The row of soft toys, bunny and the teddy in the corner nook are cute! The butterflies are pretty either sides of the apple clock. She will enjoy listening to music in her room. Very nice bedhead area with the string row of pictures on the wall and the lovely candles on the bedside tables.
It is a special bedroom for an aspiring YouTuber celebrity! Thankyou very much for entering this week’s challenge :)

Jennys Art Station is a very great basement room for her to enjoy her pursuing her dream of being a Painter Artist! @marryacheesecake :) Your description of her and the style of the room are great and complement each other very well! The mural on the wall that she has painted looks great! The simlish light sign under the painting is great also! She will enjoy painting on the easel. The paint buckets are a great touch. She will enjoy sitting on the sofa or armchair using the digital art tablet. She will also like relaxing there after painting and reading the books that are on the ground there. The garage door with street art on it looks great! It is great that her bike is there for her to ride when going out. Very nice bed area! The brick walls give a great look and feel to the area, and the bed looks nice angled into the corner. The string lights on the wall are a nice touch. The wall art painting and the neon bar signs on the wall, the cactus plant, box of items, void critter plushie, the frog display case and Strangerville animal look great! The piping on the wall is a great touch! The clothes rack is nice for her to use and her school bag is great on the hamper. She will enjoy sitting at the desk table browsing the internet. The stacks of books look great on the floor through the room.
It is a great garage bedroom studio room for an artist! Thankyou very much for entering this week’s challenge :)

Just a little note. Your hashtag that you have used isn’t quite right. That means your room isn’t appearing with the rest of the rooms. I just wanted to let you know.
