    Hi @BuildnShare

I thought I'd give you an update as promised now that the weekend is behind me  I am progressing with the build, but I have much to go still. The exterior is done, and I have started mapping out the landscaping/garden, but waiting to see what my budget is before I go crazy (haha). The layout of all floors are done and planned, and I have started furnishing the basement and 1st floor. Basement more or less done, first floor still has a bit to go.

Sorry guys, I have a limited few hours to build after the kids are in bed, so I'm not the quickest :joy: I do hate the idea of asking for a little more time, as I know there are plenty here who manages the deadline well and it's unfair on their part. Also I cannot 100% guarantee that I can make it even with an extension..

So all I am saying is: It's going forward, I am still going to do my best to get it done by the deadline. But you know.. I would absolutely not hate a little extra time is all :blush:

Edit: A side note.. I curse the day I decided to peak in on this thread and have a look, and notice @WrathofCath entry. Dear lord woman, if you have any idea how close I came to just giving up when seeing your house :joy: I know I am a good builder in my own right, and I keep telling myself that, but some people can really rattle my conviction sometimes and Cath you sweet lady are one of them  Though honestly; Expert in general is a very hard category to be in  Not to fear though, I am good now. I am happy with my house. It's shaping up nicely

I'm trying to do a traditional English Regency home but am discovering it is very difficult without custom content. There are no Regency dresses in The Sims 4 or even Georgian ones
    Also no dumb waiters
No hip baths or chamber pots

Are we allowed to use CC?

@Nothing678 You are allowed to use CC in BnS challenges. If you look at the entry form you simply need to credit them by providing links, but yes you can use CC if you wish

I will say this though. I do not use CC personally simply because I relish in the challenge of creating amazing things with what's available to me in game. I think you have done an amazing job recreating those terraced houses  You should be proud of what you have managed to do with whats available.

I absolutely do not judge though. If you prefer CC then GO for it. I think it will look amazing either way

Thanks for answering :) I think I'll have to abandon it, there is no cc clothing for the Regency era for Sims 4 (Sims 2 but not 4). Regency clothing is so distinctive with waistlines just below the bosom on a woman. I have nothing too dress them in. I can't get past the essential elements of a regency kitchen. I managed to find cc of the "bottle" racks for the Butlers pantry (where they stored the 'nectar bottles' ;). I even manged to make a vaguely passable scullery. But even the larder is proving impossible to replicate. It is such a pity we don't have some historical Sims stuff packs. I'd pay EA money happily if they would sell us that.

I think it would be a shame to abandon you project because it is beautiful so far!
Maybe it helps to think of Ms Moore as a more or less excentric lady of our days who does not seek for historic accuracy, but more for the idea of a regency building to make her Austen-Dreams come true?

So no chamber pots, but real toilets. ;) More or less hidden as there are in bathrooms anyway...

ENTRY DETAILS: As Jane Moore stated “it is not the size I am after, but the elegance. I wish for a house that will exude the Regency, where I can entertain, keep guests, and host teas” I decided to go for a modest size Regency style house with the typical white stucco exterior walls, black entry door framed by columns and iron balconies. I kept to Regency interior style as much as possible but figured there would be certain features, ie WCs, kitchen equipment, etc, that needed to be appropriate for a house of 2018. There are certainly plenty of areas to entertain guests inside and out, including the welcoming room of the parlour, piano in the sitting room, a game table in the drawing room plus indoor and outdoor dining.

ENTRY DETAILS: Jane Austen Society president, Lady Moore, has requested a Regency-style estate with not only the elegance and charm expected of such a classic setting, but all of the bells and whistles to match. Therefore, this six bedroom, eight bath manor certainly has it all, including, but not limited to, a sunken rose garden, a drawing room with a grand piano, and a kitchen large enough to cater the most lavish dinner parties in town!

Well, just sitting here waiting for my images to finish uploading to Imgur. I must say that ALL of the builds that been uploaded thus far are very beautiful and also intimidating. @BuildnShare I do not envy you, having to look through all of these builds and declare winners. I know my photo album has 175 photos and I must admit that looking through some of the photo albums of other builds, that I sometimes get lost.

Have you ever latched on to an idea and been too stubborn to give up on it?

Well let me show you the idea...

I went looking for Regency mansions and found one in real life its only £4,500,000 and it's called the Regency House located at Stokesheath Road, Oxshott, Leatherhead, Surrey. I fell in love with the exterior. I knew that the interior would not do. Way too modern for Ms Moore and not red enough too.

    BUT I persevered.
Major road block was not the overall layout BUT the dang Entry way stairs! They are U-shaped and from the 1st floor to the third they stacked on top of each other.

    BUT I persevered.
With a wonderful 1st floor kitchen and three car garage. I thought "why Jim why?"!

    BUT I persevered
So I'm made it work. Maybe putting it on a 64x64 lot was a bit ambitious, but it felt right.

SO I'm nearly done I have a few rooms to finish and landscaping in the North 40 to do.

    I'm glad I persevered!

HERE'S my original inspiration! MINE will look a little like this...very little.
