This was requested in an off hand remark to prove we are the vast majority.

Taking a different approach/taking the game in a different direction is fine. And I am open to change. But the game should be better than its predecessors. Or if not that, fun. And for me (in my opinion) it's not - not entirely. I understand that some people like The Sims 4. And they are very much entitled to their opinion and I respect their opinions.
But I believe this game could be much much better than it is. And my opinion is fine too, as is everyone else's.
You are missing the point. It's not about why so much as a comment made to prove the data the vast majority was unhappy with the direction of the game and this vision (because they don't understand any of it, the teasers then scolded for guessing, the service with no new EP in months, or the gameplay). It was a prove thing so we are. But I assume not many will bother logging in and say signed after yesterday.

The onus was on EA to communicate effectively that this game was not TS4 following the pattern of previous games as had been the case with previous additions in sequels.
They could have absolutely said in those early blogs 'Don't ever expect anything of this game because we consider it a reboot.' Not we understand why you are upset x, y, z are not going to be in the game at launch but we are building a stable base capable of fulfilling all your desires'.
The issue has been at no point were they clear that they wanted to follow a whole new direction and our money wasn't welcome. No they took our money, then after we had invested the tone of the conversation with the players changed from full of hope and promises to 'people don't know what a base game means' and other excuses that don't accurately portray why people (who have gone to detail to tell them why) they feel that way.

I had such high hopes and Sims 4 really impressed me at first but underneath all the glitter and sparkles lies a pretty dead game. Once the novelty of different features wears off and there's nothing more new coming you just start to realise that the game is like an empty shell. The team are going in a horrendous direction, it's so bad I'm starting to think they're doing this all on purpose so they can intentionally end the franchise. But even if they were, why not end it with a bang? The lack of content is too much and quickly makes gameplay repetitive. I went back to Sims 3 and oh my goodness the difference is astonishing. Sims 4 has it's pros with it's awesome CAS, pretty good build mode and awesome graphics but all the fundamental things it needs and players are repeatedly asking for are just missing and it's looking like they'll never be fulfilled. I had hope and positivity but seeing the announcing of yet ANOTHER stuff pack on instagram just irritated me. I don't want another plum stuff pack, I want an expansion pack, I want content! I've now given up and assume it will only get worse from here. Sims 5 is looking unlikely but even if it happens, I won't be buying.
I understand that not every game can please everyone but this version seems to cut off the different play styles of so many players. For me it's things like the absence of content that makes less than bright and shiny building possible. Since there is a lack of clothing for poor or homeless Sims we don't even have the ability, in game, to customize any. I miss my Supernaturals and as time goes on I see it being less likely they will happen this time.
The instability of the emotions drive me crazy. Some times they are like the weather in a coastal city....don't like the weather..wait a minute and it'll change. My husband is bi-polar and as he watched me play he remarked that my Sims emotions and moods changed faster than his did.
And the bugs...my unmodded, CC-less game seems to pick up every bug that comes along. Right now I'm dealing with the relationship decay/culling that makes all my Sims amnesiacs.
The Sims themselves seem very superficial with no depth to their character.
I could go on.......but yes I'm disappointed.
You have still missed the point of the actual thread the OP made. It was stated to a Simmer to prove it. Prove there is a vast majority of unhappy players. So, I said Yes I am dissatisfied by voting in this thread. I have already told them a hundred times in my 20,000 comments all over this forum in two years. Guess that was not the view of those on Face Book.

Y'all should ignore the folks trying to get this thread closed.
There is so much to mention and I have already done it in other threads... Color wheel for build mode and CAS, open world/neighborhoods, toddlers, better possibilities to play rotational game play, more options in "Game Options" so that I can decide how my game will evolve, I want EA to communicate to us about the future of basic features that we have been asking for since release, I want them to better the meshes of hair styles from the base game which clearly don't have the same quality as the hair styles that we buy in the packs, and a lot more.. A lot more.

Not enough animations.
No in bed animations
Sims break off cuddling after 5 seconds
No slowdance or even just dancing in front of each other.
Not enough space to place lots
We need more worlds with empty lots to place houses and venues. I'm running out of space. We specifically need lot sizes for 64x64,50x50 and 30x40.
No story progression
No cars.
Honestly I feel like I have tried this game with an open mind. Frankly, this game's issues go beyond toddlers and open worlds. In my opinion, if you are going to remove features you should have what you are implementing working properly. I would love to tell stories through my sims and have on some level.
This is what happened to me last patch. I have a world with three crime families competing for domination. I set everything up with enemies, friends, secret lovers, arranged marriages, etc. Guess what...the relationship culling hit and ruined all my hard work so I had to spend time rebuilding those relationships and ended up closing out the game out of frustration. I will not even talk about the townies I have lost because of culling. This just one of many examples. I think people just note what is bothering the most at the moment but I am pretty sure those who have signed have a list that goes beyond toddlers and open worlds. Sims 4 has some glaring issues outside of it not being like the past iterations. I truly believe we all want to like it but some of us are disappointed.
My God, what are you so afraid of? That the game will get better? This is feedback, it won't ruin your game, it most probably will enhance it and it has already happened thanks to feedback from long time fans. Putting energy to tell us that we are not being open minded? What do you get out of it? Honesty, I don't get it. Are you afraid that if those things get added they will ruin your game? Would a color wheel or cars ruin your game? Or are you afraid that EA gets tired of the sims community and decides to abandon a game that makes them so much money? Our feedback makes sense, your objections to feedback doesn't.

- Life stages incomplete: object babies and no toddlers
- Teens/YA/Adults have minor differences (would have been nice to have height sliders for ALL sims of ALL ages) *Mods will do, for now.
- Snow globe world: open world stripped and objects beyond your sim's backyard are poorly placed and rendered.
- Removed CAS customising tools...
- Can't even MOO sims...
- Sims can't walk across the street to visit neighbour without a loading screen
Every point you make is valid. They weren't upfront with customers. They took your money. They don't seem particularly concerned about customer loyalty. But. Two years later the game is still not what some would like it to be and doesn't seem like it ever will be. I can understand Cinebar wanting to show that there are many unhappy simmers but that aside, what would you like the developers to do at this point? And what are you prepared to do if that doesn't happen?
Not because I think petitions will get anywhere (they don't), but because Drake wanted proof for the number of people unhappy with EA/Maxis' current vision for The Sims 4.
The random stuff nobody asked for (one whole stuff pack dedicated to Halloween. Seriously?!), broken/cheap/lazy mechanics (looking at you, Get to Work), sims randomly being culled from the game, closed worlds, clipping galore, worthless traits that don't do squat (every sim will behave the same way regardless), poor communication from the SimGurus who are too busy using Twitter than talking to fans on their own flippin' forum, yadda yadda yadda.
I'm not a fan of petitions, but am fed up with the constant demand for "proof" that people are unhappy.
I don't mind the existence of stuff packs, I can appreciate why others like them. I like the existence of game packs, I think they are a good means of including more gameplay content outside of expansions. I could cope with the limited features at launch, as I expected new content to be released frequently.
But despite a decent start we are now getting almost nothing. It's years on and the influx of new gameplay content has been reduced to a drip in favor of easy to produce stuff packs that add little new gameplay. We haven't had a new supernatural type for around 16 months. Popular demanded features like toddlers still haven't even been confirmed to be in production, let alone released. At this rate we will never get a third of the features Sims 3 had, let alone expand upon the previous game.
There's all this talk of "vision" but I think the developers must be blindfolded, because I'm not seeing anything.
Thank you. Yes it is. That is the issue. What do I want? I want EA to quit dismissing customers by saying other people like the game, that we don't know what a base is, that we have fallen out of the game, that we don't like 'new' features. I've repeatedly said this. It's beyond the content and to how they deal with valid complaints. It comes across terribly-especially when you've supported them for decades.
I want them to show they really do get it. I want to see progress in comprehension of the issues they repeatedly ask us to detail for us but then act like it's a surprise or never been heard before. I'd like an apology for the way this entire situation has been dealt with.
The issue is people keep saying 'go away until TS5.'. If people aren't here to clearly communicate where TS4 went sideways for how they love the game concept then they are essentially unrepresented and discarded by the team next time round too. People want to be able to trust the team to know they really read it, comprehend and 'get' it to avoid this sort of ridiculous mess in the future.
It is never a good idea to let people feel 'had' by purchases made under faith or trust in your brand especially after a long relationship with a company that has been mostly positive. And a lot of the issues where people felt let down has to do with statements made which completely inaccurately describe why there have been complaints and infer that the problem is with the player which is absurd. They knew they made savage cuts to the base.
What am I prepared to do? Communicate often to as many people as I can in my personal life to warn them that preorders are a bad idea-especially when a company hides from reviews, show them what's gone on for someone who has been unlucky enough to be on the wrong side of EAs cuts then treated like they are the problem after having faith in the company and investing anyway and making sure I don't buy any more until I see *actual* content rather than promises of *potential*.
It's not a lot and I'm sure by now EA doesn't care but you know what? I keep expecting better of them. I'm a fool I know-but after so many years of supporting them it's very hard to believe that this has happened and that they don't care-when their CEO claims that they are drastically improving things. Maybe one day someone will wake up to what's been going on and the reality of why people who have loved them feel as they do but at the same time reluctant to tell them where to go.
I love the sims. I don't want to be excluded from the games going forward. Same way lots of people feel. We all love the game. I don't know why people don't understand that. It's not like we can pitch up elsewhere and play something similar to the sims there. This has been the only game I played for a good ten years-all my gaming budget was entirely passed to the studio and I bought everything. I'm a sims collector. Excluded from collecting by cuts to development.
