Speculation. What New Kits Will Contain.

I've been thinking about kits. I'm going to guess and speculate Maxis can do and probably will do at least three new kits about fame.
Instead of these features in the Get Famous EP, can you believe that is really an EP? to add to the actor/actress career, we'll probably see a kit about Singers. One for Comedians, and one for acrobats and maybe another about famous magicians. Doesn't that sound great?

Over a couple of years they could do four more kits just to complete the Get Famous pack. Wait, things are different now so we have famous 'influencers' which might be about anything but still yet, famous for whatever it is, so they can also add another for SimTube fame where the career is about getting followers and influencing, it won't matter that that is already in game, as long as Maxis can make a buck on a new kit about it. Right? Just like the many pieces of fashion and photography are broken up into many pieces when they could have all been in one career rather than under the guise of 'new'.

Some think horses and or even cows wouldn't be put into a kit but why not? Maxis and EA likes a buck for less. Think about it. Horses are possible in a kit. After you get a farming GP or EP then buy a kit about the horse on the farm or kept in the city in a stall. You could interact with it as much as you can a dust bunny. You can feed it, water it, and maybe walk it, animations to ride might be too expensive for a kit so you care for it and brush it etc. but still a kit about horses! ;)

As a matter of fact Maxis could do multiply kits about farm animals like chickens, like the TS3 store object, chicken coop, where there are a few interactions and that's it. I can see how profitable this can be for Maxis at $5 for a chicken coop, where your Sims walks up to it, throws some feed then gets some eggs. Exciting game play there. People will buy that up like ice cream.

So, let's see there will be ten farms kits about different object animals, much like the baby crib in TS4 which the interaction is on the object and not the animals per se.
That should cover the need for a farming EP. And make Maxis a slew of money.

There will be at least four or five more kits about 'fame' which would include singers, acrobats, stage magicians, and Simtubers and stand up comedians.

That's at least a couple of years of work for about fifteen or more kits. That's the road map for kits if they decide to milk it out. :D

ETA: I forgot to mention instead of a Decades pack they could just do each decade of styles in a kit. As a matter of fact they could do one for furniture of the decade and a separate for clothes and styles. 1970's (2) 1980''s (2) etc. That's a least five more years of work so yes, TS4 can go on forever.

Don't forget that they can also take kitchen parts that should have been in other packs and sell them as kits.

    Wait...they already did.

Alright fine, but what about adding more workout clothes that follow a specific style like the 80's or 90's?

Wait, they did that as well.

Ok fine, what about adding dust to the game? And vacuum cleaners?

    ....huh.

Oh, I just thought of some more. Bands...they can have a kit for each type of band and music. :o Orchestras, rock bands, country bands, Big band, Swing, Rap, whatever. Dozens and dozens and then a kit for Sim who writes their own songs and music and then the Sims who just do cover songs. Ok, that's at least ten more kits there, too. lol

Car kit, one for building your own. One for drivable cars. One for ownable cars. One for different styles and manufactures. One for different colors and wheels like mags. One for hardtops and one for convertibles. Oooh, one for trucks, one for vans and one for SUVs. One for sports cars, one for sedans.

Omg, we could get dozens of car kits so much fun awaiting us! :D

Yes, because you know, one problem I always felt that we had with packs was that we got too much stuff, if they release cars as kits, now I can pick and choose which car that I want. And if I want them all, I have to pay more than what a pack would cost. brilliant!

Because you know, cars are too niche to be included in a pack, just like vacuum cleaning, no one ever does that.

Don't forget some people still mop and sweep, so we need two more kits for mopping and sweeping. Wait, we need a kit for mowing the lawn, but some use riding lawnmowers and some use push mowers, and some use self propelled mowers..so three kits right there! yay :D

Oh wait, clothes should be broken down into kits, too. Tops and bottoms should be separate kits. One for skirts of all kinds, one for blouses and shirts or maybe that's two. One for jackets, one for longer coats, one for sweaters, one for long dresses one for shorter dresses, one for dress pants one for casual pants etc. Oh and pjs, one for robes, one for pjs, one for gowns etc. Wait, there are so many packs we could have for more clothes' kits galore! Happy days ahead.

Personally, I'm waiting on a new kit for diving boards. Different types never mind this is already in game...but just think different dives can be done with different diving boards...oh that's at least five kits right there.

Water kits. Swim in a pond kit. Swim in an ocean kit. Swim in a lake kit. Swim in a creek. Think of all the possibilities. Different animation (one) for each type of body of water. :D

Mentioning kitchens let's not stop now with the country kitchen kit, there are so many styles we need at least twelve more styled kits. You know you want a kit that allows you to change the handle of the cabinet, that's at least one special kit right there. Change the hardware kit!

I think you're right about getting a decade kits of some sort. I really wish they would give us a 70s furniture kit instead of clothing. I built my grandparents house in the game, but I need the iconic colonial couch with the watermill pattern on it lol. See here: https://collectorsweekly.com/articles/it-came-from-the-70s-the-story-of-your-grandmas-weird-couch/

They could do swatches that aren't so crazy, but I want at least one weird swatch lol.

I wonder if the packs will always come in threes. Maybe one CAS, one furniture, one game play. I'm really surprised they haven't released any new kits yet. Many speculated that kits would help fill the drought between other packs, and I thought we'd get a release each month. Right now, I feel like April has been really quiet so far.

From your posts, I'm guessing you are mostly being facetious, but nothing would surprise me with EA and Sims lol.

I'm hoping for a Pool Kit so we can get more items for swimming pools and maybe some new pool shapes as well. I can't believe we still don't have pool slides 7 years in.

I actually don’t believe the Kits will be too in-depth at all about anything. They will include a few new pieces of clothes, buy/build mode objects, and one new gameplay “theme”, that’s it.

I don’t foresee Kits containing new worlds, careers, nothing like that. I still think those big ideas will remain in regular Packs.

I’m hoping for a goth clothing pack, or even better stuff pack. And actually I would like to see a lawnmower kit, but I hope we don’t have grass gophers.... lol...... speaking of gophers, I wouldn’t mind seeing some small animal packs. A bird pack, and maybe lizards, tarantulas, snakes,,that are small, like frogs and insects. Ones that children can feed and play with. I figure you were joking about horses.... lol, but I’m not joking about small animals.... lol. I also wouldn’t mind seeing toddler ride ons and push toys, bikes and skateboards, a mitt and ball to play catch ( adult and child), but I figure some of these will come with a generations pack. I actually like the throwback fitness and the kitchen pack, I don’t use custom content, so I enjoy the kits. I enjoyed stuff packs a lot too especially when they came with hair styles and clothes.

I hope that they will put a farming expansion out that has all of the livestock in it with a few other things like a sewing machine and canning station. I can see them breaking up some of the sports things into kits.

I hope if they do the band thing that it will warrant a game pack, though I can see extra instruments in packs too.

I would love to see a small appliances kit. Toaster oven, toaster, crock pot, deep fryer, juicer, kitchen aid mixer, food processor. I know we wouldn't get all of them in one kit but hey, a girl can dream. 😄

I'd also liked to see a retro/vintage fashions kit. Pants with suspenders. Shirts with a sleeveless vest. Full skirted belted dresses. Capris. Loose fit cuffed pants for men. Dressy hats for women.

I'm not sure of themes, but if we get these quarterly, as I suspect we will, I imagine one will be CAS oriented, one will be Build/Buy oriented and one will be activity oriented (as much as vacuuming is an activity), with interactive objects.

I still have hopes for stuff packs, but if not, I can see maybe some casino type kit, maybe just one with two different objects that have several game "skins" each, pool or beach activity kit(s), retro CAS kits, retro build/buy kits. I still hope for a farming EP - but if we don't get that or a GP centered around it, probably several farming theme kits of all types. Not horses, but other fairly stationary type animals like what we got in the Sims 3 store with the cow and chicken. Band/music kits too.
It's kind of sad that I have to point out that anything I say is only just my opinion and may be a different one from someone else.

I have no idea what *will* be released...a good place to start might be in having a Country Themed living room following on from the Country Kitchen?
I have plenty of things I want...

-"Play that Sax": My Willow Creek has a perfect space to have a jazz sax player!

-Sleepover Set: Whilst there's a lot of cosy clothing we haven't really had CAS assets exlcusive to sleep wear yet.

-Granny Chic Set- I'm still gutted Granny Chic lost in the last community vote and would love to see this come to life like Happy Haunts did!

All I ask is that whatever comes out in future is better play tested. I do enjoy the kits however having that many issues out the gate should have been identified prior. Hoping since they'll release one at a time it will be easier to test for them.

People say "Don't buy it, that'll teach EA what we want."

    But this is EA.

If you don't buy it, EA won't say "Maybe this is the wrong angle for new content and the prices are really obnoxious and people would appreciate quality over quantity." They'll say "Better fire all our Devs and tell everybody that Sims 4 is a sales failure."
Prepping a list of mods to add after Infants are placed into the game. Because real life isn't 'nice'.

Because of a poor sale on a kit, seems very unlikely.

I hope we can get a textiles kit, with A LOAD of curtains and bedsheets. This could also open up the ability to change bed sheets individually as part of a base game update (if this was ever planned/possible for the game).

I build a lot and I really don't want to use custom content.

Yes, i agree with this! We need better bed sheets and the possibility to choose them individually for each bed and more options for curtains, especially one tile extensions for those right and left side curtain pieces so we could fit them around 3 tiles or more windows.
