Introduction: "Well well... How do I start this... My name is Bryon Ellison. I was raised by my single father, but he really didn't give a plum about me. Every night he would come home with another woman. I got no attention at all. Maybe that was because I look a lot like my mother. Or well, that's what my father used to say. I never knew the woman that gave birth to me.
In the end, I ended up being like my father. I was the badboy at school and I think I've dated all the available girls. But now I'm really thrown out. I even had to search a new school that would take me. I'm on my own. Without a house, without money. Nothing. Nobody to rely on. But I'm smart and I still look good. I'll get through this."
*Bryon was actually used in two Bachelor challenge stories, but he always got unlucky. I love to give Sims second or even third chances in life, so Bryon is thrown back in time to where he was a teenager. A very unlucky one, to say so.
If I want to get somewhere, I'll need money. How do I get money? By selling stuff and accepting odd jobs. I sold potatoes, onions and I even helped someone move into their new home. Those boxes were HEAVY! What did that guy put in those boxes? Stones?! Anyways, I earned money. That's what counts. I also got to know some people in the bar. Nobody special in particular, but still. The bar owner knows the short version of my story. He let me sleep on the couch and told me I was always welcome for a talk, a drink or a nap. He even told me that the bathhouse has showers that I can use tomorrow. Maybe I don't even need a house? Just joking. I do need a house. And fast.
I'll be linking it in my Simblr too, or do you prefer to keep them all posted in this thread? I want to be able to collate each photo for each day etc. I just randomly generated a Sim from using pre-made Sims from very excellent Sim creators so I'll be using him.
EDIT: Would I be allowed to create a separate discussion thread to keep my daily posts together? I'll try a quick play right now, though I'll be starting in Sulani as that's my latest pack and missing Strangerville, University, Eco Lifestyle, the magic and jungle ones which names escape me. Still sorely tempted to splurge...but really trying hard to restrain myself lol.
I had my first day of school today. My teacher immediately gave me a school project. The only reason I actually made it carefully was because I can sell it after showing the teacher. The more careful I make this, the more money I get for it. Together with the daily 80 bucks I make for selling potatoes and onions, I'm... Still broke. Argh, this is frustrating.
After another day of selling potatoes and onions, going to school and doing another odd job, I finally had enough money to buy me something: a little tent! Well, it's not much, but at least I got something I can call a 'home' now. I still visit the bathhouse on a daily basis, though. The first thing I'm buying next is a private toilet room and a shower. But how long will that take...?
As usual, I went to the bathhouse today, but something was different. Among all the Sims, there was one person that stood out a little bit. A guy around my age named Kiyoshi Ito. I already talked with his father and mother a few times. I don't like those, but I guess I do like that Kiyoshi-guy. He's... Interesting.
This guy finally decided to give up on odd jobs and get a decent part time job. I need more money or else I'm really going to live in that tent forever! I did manage to buy a few walls. My future mini-bathroom is finally in progress!

Bryon's Diary
After days of struggling, I finally found a rhythm that works for me and I even managed to find this green town mascot. What was it's name again... Yamachan! I'm actually going forward now. Still don't have my bathroom, but well. There are worse problems.
January (Friday) DAY 6: Tickling The Ivories For Tips
Kiyoshi asked her on a date! Woot!
Sakura heads to school on Friday, well-rested after her vacation day. While at school, I get a pop-up that a friend wants Sakura to give her the test answers. Sakura decides not to and the friend says they will never help Sakura again. There is no performance gain or loss from this pop-up. School is done and it's the weekend and there is a pop-up if she wants to invite Kiyoshi over. Oh yes, she does! They do their homework together and extra credit work. Then they become Best Friends Forever! Sakura also does a romantic interaction with him to exchange numbers and he kisses the phone! Oh yeah! Kiyoshi heads off, but he must have been thinking about her, because I get a pop-up that he wants to ask her on a DATE! Yes, a DATE! Oh geez! Now I am regretting not going to other worlds if they are invited, because he is asking her on a DATE to the cantina in Selvadorada. She sadly declines (Don't hate me too much Sakura, you'll get another chance.) Sakura heads instead to the Hazakura Lounge to feast on chips and socialize. She also plays the piano for tips (didn't keep track of how much she made), because she needs rock climbing equipment. She is Level 3 in Piano and she has 332 social media followers. Then she gets another pop-up from Kiyoshi asking if she wants to go to the opera (it's a rabbit hole invitation), so she agrees to that. When she comes back, she gets a moodlet with a big Yawn in it that says that operas are really not her thing, but that she can appreciate them, but not the most exhilarating experience. Well, at least she went somewhere with Kiyoshi. She heads back to the Hazakura Lounge for the night.

Starting out every world Rags to Riches style is entirely optional. I updated the rules to reflect that. I just enjoy the challenge of doing it that way as said in another post. However, I probably won't start out Rags to Riches for Tessa in Evergreen Harbor either. We'll see...
I made a note about that in the Worlds/Aging Up Timeline in the first post already. I purposely switched Britechester and Glimmerbrook around so Tessa will age up to a young adult (not adult) when she lives in Britechester so she can attend University.
Having a spouse(s), live in partners, or not is totally your choice. You're welcome to play the challenge and make changes to it for your playstyle any way you wish. I'm not going to be a challenge cop or anything, just look at the 'rules' as guidelines you may follow only if you want to. I posted them just to show what I'll be doing for the challenge and have added suggestions from others to it as options. Just have fun, that's all that matters.

@Kanindota Sure, you don't have to post your challenge daily posts here in this thread. You're welcome to make your own thread and/or post in your tumbler, WordPress, etc., or any other blog of your choosing. I'd love it though if you could post a link to it in the thread so we know you've posted and can go read it. At some point when I have time, I'm going to try to put links to other Simmers try at the challenge in the first post.
But, only if you're doing it in another thread or blog. I think the first post would get filled up way too fast if I tried to update it with everyone's individual posts for each day here in the thread. However, for those who have posted in the thread, I'll give a link to your Day 1 post. If you want to update/edit that one with links to other days/months, that would be cool. Does that make sense?
@SoulGal7 Thanks for answering Skeilah's question for me about what does WIP mean. I updated the rules to spell it out in case anyone else would've been confused by it too. Oooo, Sukura got asked out on a date with Kyoshi! Too bad she couldn't go, darn. Nice that he came over though and they exchanged numbers. I love that little kiss they give their cell phone after sending their number, so cute! She actually yawned over the Opera? My Sims have been invited to that before, but they always come back all excited about how great it was.

Season is spring, 28 days.
She lives at that one empty lot at the SE world.. there is the tiny foundation on the lot, as game refused to see it as "tiny house" without it.
Starter funds: 0 simoleons
End of the day funds: 207 simoleons
English is not my native language, so I give short description with extra shots under spoiler:
Melody first went to lounge.. to sing a bit.. Mr Delgato was kind enough to give her 2 simoleon tip... ugh.. so did Simeon Silversweater and Nancy Landgraab..
There is a bar. so it means free chips! No idea why Summer was so not found of her!
So fishing then (thank you all for pointing out the spot!!) , She had to start over multiple times, as those fish were always "too smart for her" LOL. But I kept her doing it over and over again so it was already dark when she had multiple amount of fishes and level 4 at fishing!
Now maybe to do some aspiration stuff, she went to the upper, snowy hood, looked at the board, bought some lotions and sprays to take care the wild life, while at there she also ate.
And better to the homework too..
Shower at Onsen (oh my, I only made her everyday and cold weather outfits, rest are game made, why all the rings and stuff...)
Back at home neighborhood, before 5am, so plants will grow.
After naps, back to home lot.. it was raining, but there was a grown wild potato plant to harvest, what she did and replanted all potatoes!
Rain ended and it was 6am.. end of the day 1

@Ellupelluellu Thank you for linking me to this thread! I am excited to see everyone's sims/stories. I need to decide if I'd want to commit to this or not, it could definitely be a fun way to get attached to a new character so I may try it out!

I've not fully explored Sulani, nor the features with Island Living bar from my now on-hiatus Off-the-grid Challenge with Layla Gates. I'm heading into exam season and I'm minimising the time I'm playing Sims 4 so this challenge is something I'll be prioritising. I've added links to my Challenges tracker via my Simblr.

@Skeilah - I just went to your website and it is certainly a gorgeous page. I would also suggest crediting @Karababy52 on your website for the original idea of this challenge. I will enjoy following your and Bryon's story, I love the idea that you are doing a daily diary for him. I love all the photos and entries that you have shared with us so far. Bryon is a funny guy! And to start in winter on a rags to riches story, you definitely have to have some humor! lol

@Ellupelluellu - Wonderful first day for Melody Connors. I saw the simoleons she made at the end of day 1 - now that is great! Singing and fishing, wonderful, even if those fish feel they are 'too smart'. There is a potato in the area, but it just lets me view it, not harvest. @Skeilah - Maybe there is some sneaky potato harvester lurking and harvesting this potato - maybe it's Byron! lol All I can find in Wakaba is parsley. I will have to visit Senbamachi again with the intent of looking for harvestables.
@Kanindota -Welcome! I love your sim's name - River Funke-Townes and I love Sulani! I went to your website and read the first part of River's story. Intriguing, especially since we only see the back of him - twice. And I love that conversation between the food vendor and River and then he shows her that he does indeed have simoleons and she changes her attitude. Great start!
Bryon also lives in Wakaba! The potato-plant is right after Bryon's lot -super handy- and the onion plant is at the swimming area. There's also a dig pile there. Bryon always digs up 2 common upgrade parts xD So it's everyday: 10 potatoes, 5 onions and 2 common upgrade parts to sell. Bryon can't fish because well yeah, Winter. xD Worst timing ever to be thrown out of the house.
Also, if people want to use the Charts I've made on my website, they're free to use!! I did switch up some worlds in my charts. For example Sulani is not my ending world. I just think that Sulani belongs in the Summer. Forgotten Hollow gives me Halloween vibes, so that's why I made it October. Brindleton Bay is my favorite world and my birthday is in November, so that's why it's there. I did agree with Britechester belonging in April because that way your Sim can easily attend college!
January - Day 7:"A good friend listens to your adventures. A best friend makes them with you."
Notes:
Tessa and Josh got a late start to their excursion the next day. Tessa was exhausted from their practice climbs and slept until very late afternoon. I thought about delaying the trip until Sunday. But, I'd checked the forecast while they were on the mountain the night before and it looked like just snow for today, but very windy and possibly a blizzard the next day.
They talked it over and decided to leave that night. Tessa made the call and they were on their way. I had a bit of a snag once they arrived at the Onsen. I couldn't find any trail markers. Where were they? The instructions just said to gather team members at the trail marker, but didn't say where it was located.
I decided they must be up by the slopes, so sent them on the gondolas up there. Looking around I still couldn't find any trail markers. I even minimized my screen and did a search on Carl's site. Nothing. Good thing I had the game paused or they definitely would've ran out of time. Finally, I remembered seeing some kind of sign at the top of the medium climbing walls and checked that out. Bingo!
They both climbed up there without incident and moved on to the next part. Luckily, the sun was shining under a clear blue sky, at least for a little while longer. Once they reached base camp and the tall walls, they set up the tent Tessa had brought along and took some time to rest before moving on.
It began to snow a little, but I wasn't too worried... I should've been. o.O Tessa's energy wasn't fully green, but I got them up anyway and had her drink some energy juice. Focused is the right mood for climbing, but I couldn't do anything about that at this point.
They packed up the tent as it snowed even harder and headed over to the walls. Josh, of course, scrambled up them like a monkey, no problem at all. I had him again set-up the tent and read the Wilderness Guide while he waited for Tessa. She made it okay, with a few slips, but no falls. By this time a raging blizzard was in full force!
Tessa hurried over to the tent, or I should say ran in a panic with 'run inside' popping up over and over in her queue. Thankfully, they had some time before the clock ran out to just hunker down and ride out the storm. A very good thing since it was now thundersnowing too! I was hoping, yet...not, if that makes sense there would be thundersnow. Very cool to hear. I thought there would be lightening too, but nope.
The storm wasn't letting up, at all, but they were running out of time to move on. I had a passing thought that maybe they should just go home and try again next weekend. But, they'd come this far already, why not just go for it, right? o.O Packing up the tent, they moved on to the next, and hopefully last obstacle before reaching the top, the tallest walls.
Holy Simoly, they weren't kidding, those walls are twice, maybe three times higher than any of the others. Plus, they were covered in ice and had HUGE frozen snowsicles hanging down from above. A majestic sight to behold, but very intimidating to say the least! I seriously wondered, along with Tessa and Josh, why were they out in a blizzard trying to climb a mountain? Maybe they should finally call it and go home.
I adore, no, love a challenge though and was determined Tessa (and Josh) would reach their goal, tonight. Not very smart risking my Sims lives like that, but... guess I'm not very smart. I had Josh try those formidable looking walls first. When he checked them for his chances of success, it said 'High.' Of course he made it like the Pro that he is, no worries, no biggie. What about Tessa though? Would she be able to make it?
She got the same message after checking the walls too though, and the blizzard had finally begun to subside. While Josh again set-up the tent in case Tessa needed a rest before the next goal, she began her ascent. She slipped and even fell a couple times at the lower part of the walls, but didn't get hurt. I was very surprised about that. By the time she was halfway up, the snow completely stopped, the stars began to shine and the moon rose high overhead. It looked like she was going to make it, and, of course, she did! \o/
I threw my arms up in the air and yelled out, "YES, YES, YES, She did it!" after getting the message they'd reached their goal. I'm a dork, what can I say? I didn't see the top of the mountain yet, but figured it had to be at the end of a trail leading off into the distance.
Josh packed up the tent one last time and the two slogged through the deep snow up the trail to their final destination. What a beautiful sight to behold! I have to say, the Devs did a brilliant job with this pack in my opinion. The views at the top are absolutely gorgeous!
Tessa and Josh shared a lovely hug and she thanked him for helping her reach the ultimate goal, she didn't know if she would've been able to do it without him. He told her with a smile on his lips and a look of pride on his face, he knew she could do it, was so very proud of her and extremely happy he could be there to share in her joy! BFFs and Snowbros forever, right? After that, Josh took their picture, they made a Snowpal together in place of a flag to mark their victory and Tessa placed the Polar bear gnome she'd brought along next to it. Instead of a name, I put a message, 'Tessa and Josh were here!'
Lastly, they made Snowangels, shared a Snowbros High Five with the bright sun shining down upon them, and then I sent them home.
I won't apologize this time for the length of these notes, I loved this experience with my Sims and wanted to share every moment with all of you! However, I'll try to keep them shorter in the future.
I don't know what to do now. Should I send Josh back home to live with his Brothers? Or let him continue to live with Tessa? I confess, again, I would love to make them a couple when Tessa is a young adult. The sentiments they keep getting for each other and the constant looks shared between them makes me feel like they might want that. It could just be my silly romantic heart imagining all of that though. I hesitate for obvious reasons... What do you guys think? Should Tessa and Josh stay together or would that be too cheaty since he's a Super Sim? I just don't know, I'm torn. Anyway, thanks for reading and, as always...

That Kiyoshi-guy followed me home after school. "Yoooo!! I also want to live on my own!!", he said. I laughed it off, saying he should be happy to have a family. The subject made me a little sad in the moment, but I don't think he saw that. I may have joined a club today. It's name is 'Partihaus', or something like that. A really beautiful woman named Eva invited me. She's a little too old for me now, but maybe when I'm older... Argh, what am I thinking again? When I came back from work in the evening, I saw a grown-up pale woman with pink hair. She was destroying my snowpal. My beautiful snowpal!! I'll never forgive her for that.

I've not fully explored Sulani, nor the features with Island Living bar from my now on-hiatus Off-the-grid Challenge with Layla Gates. I'm heading into exam season and I'm minimising the time I'm playing Sims 4 so this challenge is something I'll be prioritising. I've added links to my Challenges tracker via my Simblr.

@Skeilah - I just went to your website and it is certainly a gorgeous page. I would also suggest crediting @Karababy52 on your website for the original idea of this challenge. I will enjoy following your and Bryon's story, I love the idea that you are doing a daily diary for him. I love all the photos and entries that you have shared with us so far. Bryon is a funny guy! And to start in winter on a rags to riches story, you definitely have to have some humor! lol
I think I have a secret love for Bryon myself 😋
@Kanindota -Welcome! I love your sim's name - River Funke-Townes and I love Sulani! I went to your website and read the first part of River's story. Intriguing, especially since we only see the back of him - twice. And I love that conversation between the food vendor and River and then he shows her that he does indeed have simoleons and she changes her attitude. Great start!
Also, if people want to use the Charts I've made on my website, they're free to use!! I did switch up some worlds in my charts. For example Sulani is not my ending world. I just think that Sulani belongs in the Summer. Forgotten Hollow gives me Halloween vibes, so that's why I made it October. Brindleton Bay is my favorite world and my birthday is in November, so that's why it's there. I did agree with Britechester belonging in April because that way your Sim can easily attend college!
Notes:
They talked it over and decided to leave that night. Tessa made the call and they were on their way. I had a bit of a snag once they arrived at the Onsen. I couldn't find any trail markers. Where were they? The instructions just said to gather team members at the trail marker, but didn't say where it was located.
I decided they must be up by the slopes, so sent them on the gondolas up there. Looking around I still couldn't find any trail markers. I even minimized my screen and did a search on Carl's site. Nothing. Good thing I had the game paused or they definitely would've ran out of time. Finally, I remembered seeing some kind of sign at the top of the medium climbing walls and checked that out. Bingo!
They both climbed up there without incident and moved on to the next part. Luckily, the sun was shining under a clear blue sky, at least for a little while longer. Once they reached base camp and the tall walls, they set up the tent Tessa had brought along and took some time to rest before moving on.
It began to snow a little, but I wasn't too worried... I should've been. o.O Tessa's energy wasn't fully green, but I got them up anyway and had her drink some energy juice. Focused is the right mood for climbing, but I couldn't do anything about that at this point.
They packed up the tent as it snowed even harder and headed over to the walls. Josh, of course, scrambled up them like a monkey, no problem at all. I had him again set-up the tent and read the Wilderness Guide while he waited for Tessa. She made it okay, with a few slips, but no falls. By this time a raging blizzard was in full force!
Tessa hurried over to the tent, or I should say ran in a panic with 'run inside' popping up over and over in her queue. Thankfully, they had some time before the clock ran out to just hunker down and ride out the storm. A very good thing since it was now thundersnowing too! I was hoping, yet...not, if that makes sense there would be thundersnow. Very cool to hear. I thought there would be lightening too, but nope.
The storm wasn't letting up, at all, but they were running out of time to move on. I had a passing thought that maybe they should just go home and try again next weekend. But, they'd come this far already, why not just go for it, right? o.O Packing up the tent, they moved on to the next, and hopefully last obstacle before reaching the top, the tallest walls.
Holy Simoly, they weren't kidding, those walls are twice, maybe three times higher than any of the others. Plus, they were covered in ice and had HUGE frozen snowsicles hanging down from above. A majestic sight to behold, but very intimidating to say the least! I seriously wondered, along with Tessa and Josh, why were they out in a blizzard trying to climb a mountain? Maybe they should finally call it and go home.
I adore, no, love a challenge though and was determined Tessa (and Josh) would reach their goal, tonight. Not very smart risking my Sims lives like that, but... guess I'm not very smart.
She got the same message after checking the walls too though, and the blizzard had finally begun to subside. While Josh again set-up the tent in case Tessa needed a rest before the next goal, she began her ascent. She slipped and even fell a couple times at the lower part of the walls, but didn't get hurt. I was very surprised about that. By the time she was halfway up, the snow completely stopped, the stars began to shine and the moon rose high overhead. It looked like she was going to make it, and, of course, she did! \o/
I threw my arms up in the air and yelled out, "YES, YES, YES, She did it!" after getting the message they'd reached their goal. I'm a dork, what can I say?
Josh packed up the tent one last time and the two slogged through the deep snow up the trail to their final destination. What a beautiful sight to behold! I have to say, the Devs did a brilliant job with this pack in my opinion. The views at the top are absolutely gorgeous!
Tessa and Josh shared a lovely hug and she thanked him for helping her reach the ultimate goal, she didn't know if she would've been able to do it without him. He told her with a smile on his lips and a look of pride on his face, he knew she could do it, was so very proud of her and extremely happy he could be there to share in her joy! BFFs and Snowbros forever, right? After that, Josh took their picture, they made a Snowpal together in place of a flag to mark their victory and Tessa placed the Polar bear gnome she'd brought along next to it. Instead of a name, I put a message, 'Tessa and Josh were here!'
Lastly, they made Snowangels, shared a Snowbros High Five with the bright sun shining down upon them, and then I sent them home.
I won't apologize this time for the length of these notes, I loved this experience with my Sims and wanted to share every moment with all of you! However, I'll try to keep them shorter in the future.
I don't know what to do now. Should I send Josh back home to live with his Brothers? Or let him continue to live with Tessa? I confess, again, I would love to make them a couple when Tessa is a young adult. The sentiments they keep getting for each other and the constant looks shared between them makes me feel like they might want that. It could just be my silly romantic heart imagining all of that though. I hesitate for obvious reasons... What do you guys think? Should Tessa and Josh stay together or would that be too cheaty since he's a Super Sim? I just don't know, I'm torn. Anyway, thanks for reading and, as always...
