Have a question Don't know what to search for to answer it

I dowloaded Sim3 sims from the exchange or outside website and within those sims are clothing and a skin that loads into the game and disappears when i remove the SIM files from the Saved sims folder. i would like to use these items without having to have those sims installed in the game. Is there any way i can search for find or extract that info from that sim package or find it in my sims3 folder

Oh wait, sorry. That's how to get the sim without the CC, not how to get the CC without the sim. Basically, you can't. You'll have to either leave the sim package in your saved sims file or hunt down the CC elsewhere. Mod The Sims 'Where Can I Find' thread is pretty good for hunting down CC you can't find.
