Playing today and looking at one of the new gen 6 cousins - he has pointy ears! One of his older brothers does too but they don’t have the same father so I had a look at their mother’s ears and they’re pointy! I don’t know where those ears would have come from though! This is down Kit’s line, he was from gen 3. His youngest daughter Audrey had two girls with the same father (Gideon Harris) but only one, Elliana, had pointy ears! Anyone know if Gideon has pointy ears? I’m pretty sure the ears didn’t come from Kit’s wife, Violet, but I don’t know if any of Audrey’s siblings had them. I’ll have to check on Audrey and her twin brother next time (eldest sister Michaela passed away a few game days ago on her youngest daughter’s YA birthday 😢, but maybe I should check her children).

Update: Sheldon has them, but not Audrey, so I think that makes Violet, Kit’s wife, the origin of those ears. But how did Audrey pass them on to Elliana since those features don’t seem to skip generations? Michaela’s children Dylan, Max and Keira don’t have them. So the one child of Kit’s who didn’t have children got pointy ears but one of the grandchildren from one of the girls did get the ears and now has passed them onto the two of the next generation? How did this happen without me noticing! Looking back through pics of that gen, I can’t tell from the CAS photo whether they have them at that early age or not, or whether this is a glitch of some kind!

Incidentally, this is the breakdown of children per generation across the family tree:
Gen 2: 3 (1 boy, 2 girls)
Gen 3: 8 (4 boys, 4 girls)
Gen 4: 20 (9 boys, 11 girls) - 14 are still alive, all but two are elders
Gen 5: 35 (19 boys, 16 girls - one has just become an elder, the youngest is an infant 🤣)
Gen 6: 29 (9 boys, 20 girls so far)
Gen 7: 14 (7 boys, 7 girls so far)
It took me two hours to update the family tree the other day!

I’ll get another update done within the next couple of days but I had to share this - of all the grandchildren that Emerson and Rose have so far, only one of them doesn’t have red hair! That’s a lot of red-haired children 🤣.

Rebuilding Brindleton Bay Gen 5.14

Last update for gen 5!! Which is probably just as well because I'm halfway through the next gen already!

Harlow asked Storm out on a date but this is the only pic I got as the date glitched and Harlow disappeared very soon after.

Snow has taken to playing the violin often and loudly

I'm not saying that it factored in Winter's decision to propose to Molly and then move out but it totally did!! They moved out to a house in Windenburg to help with Winter's career as a politician.

Cohen passed away, so Emerson took Storm around to comfort Mabel, who still has at least 30 days left.

Then we were finally able to work on getting a kitten for this generation!

Night on the Town, so Emerson and Rose invited Winter and Molly over, and Storm and Harlow came along too. Aspen and Naomi, as well as Snow, arrived later as they had to work. (I didn't realise that I'd given Rose and Storm the same hairstyle for formal outfit until this date night )

Pre-Prom party. Snow tried to get Daniel interested in her (he had turned down her prom-posal two days earlier) but no luck. But fortunately, Lawson Goth was plenty interested!!

Prom again! Plenty of dancing, Snow finally got her first kiss, and the two girls both received royal titles!

And the next day, it was time for a lot of birthdays! Rose aged up into middle age, then Snow aged into YA. She gained the Perfectionist trait and will be getting a job as a diver.

Then it was Storm's turn. She gained the Squeamish trait (which will go wonderfully well with her aspiration of Outdoor Enthusiast ) and will become a detective.

Harlow and Lawson were invited around to age up as well.

I had issues with the cats breeding so I had to randomise a kitten in CAS. Meet Bellusdeo (from a series called Cast in Shadow).

Snow and Lawson got engaged, then moved out into a house in Sulani for her job as a Diver.

And finally, Aspen and Naomi eloped right there in the lounge room.

And so ends Gen 5! Halfway through the challenge - yay!! I'm so pleased to have made it so far with the support of all the lovely people also doing this challenge

Rebuilding Brindleton Bay Gen 6 house tour

Because I have the time to do this update, I'll show you Storm's new house.

Front view, although it's a little hard to see in the middle of winter!

Ground floor. Top row - lounge room, entryway with WC. Bottom row - Kitchen/laundry, dining room.

First floor. I apologise for the weird effect - for some reason, I couldn't get a better picture than this. At the back, master bedroom with ensuite and WIR (which will double as a nursery). Two bedrooms towards the front and a shared bathroom.

Basement for housing all the collections and photos so far.

I’ve been able to play a lot in the last three weeks and am nearly at the end of gen 6! I thought it was going to be hard to pick an heir this gen but it was actually fairly easy as I found myself favouring one child over the others. Once I get the heir aged up and married, I’ll switch to the Strangerville save and play through that generation, getting to play with infants again 🤣.

Happy belated Cino De Mayo everyone! I am having issues with my save and gave up on it a while ago. I am hopping on today to try and see if I can fix it and if not rebuild, my rebuild lol! I am only bummed because Maddy had found love with the Gilberts sim I created ;_;

@OJenn - that you for the love on the house - I went specifically looking for some steampunk stuff given that I felt Storm would be into anime and steampunk, those kind of things.
That’s not good about your save! Hopefully you can get Maddy and her soulmate up in a new save and get them started on their legacy!

I’ve just about finished gen 7 - just got to get through the last day, transfer all the collections over to the heir and then shift them over to the new house, which is still missing some furniture. Not sure whether I’ll get to that today - still trying to get rid of yesterday’s migraine enough to tolerate the computer for a couple of hours. Then I’ll have to start posting gen 7 while I play over in Strangerville, get that family started properly.

Edit: I’m thinking about getting the greenhouse kit, hopefully when I get Jungle Adventures.

I was lucky enough to be able to get my save all figured out, I was really worried there for a second because I was just getting started working out Maddy and Theo's relationship. By the time I got things all settled I realized that Maddy had enough money for me to do more work on the interior of the house but then one thing led to another and the outside got done as well

I will probably rework the outdoor space again now that I have the greenhouse kit

Speaking of Maddy and Theo things were going great and their relationship fell into place fairly easily.

After some investigating it turns out it's because they have amazing compatibility with the new system!

Theo is over so often that he practically lives at Maddy's now

When she isn't entertaining Theo Maddy is going full on neat freak and successfully completed her aspiration


With one aspiration down she took some time to focus on skill building since she's an active seem Yoga fit right in.

I spent most of my time decorating so I didn't get to do much for Maddy but soon, I hope to get more time to play

I finished gen 6 yesterday and the gen 7 heir has finally moved into their home. Shifting all the collections and family photos took ages though, not to mention the size of the basement I had to create just to fit the photos on the wall 😆. Had to leave plenty of space too as the gen 6 and 7 cousins are still being born; gen 5 is finally finished! I’ll get posting on gen 6 this afternoon hopefully.

I went back to the Strangerville save. I’ve decided on a couple of challenges for this save that are different to the Brindleton save.
1 - the heir must have Xantara’s blue skin for as long as I can keep it in the family.
2- each heir must collect a collection and put it in the museum (Xantara will be doing sky/moon prints)
3 - each heir, or someone in the household, must learn painting to do a portrait of each heir for the museum.
4 - each child’s name must start with a letter of the previous heir’s name (so Xantara will have 5 children - x, a, n, t, r). I’m not planning on having pets in this save so they can have up to six children in each generation.
The collections I’m aiming for in future generations are, at the moment, Selvadorian artifacts (when I get JA), Star Wars stuff, crystals/metals, and I’m still deciding on the fifth. I might also add in one of every type of book (Xantara’s spouse is a writer) and by the end of the challenge, one of every different painting. Maybe 😏.

@OJenn - the inside of the house is looking good! I’m glad you were able to save the save! Where is that tile in the bathroom from?

Rebuilding Brindleton Bay Gen 6.1

Finally, onto a new generation!

Storm's aspiration is Outdoor Enthusiast so the first thing she and Harlow did was go on a vacation to Granite Falls. Fishing was an interesting activity because although Storm could catch fish, she could only get one at a time and then had to do something else because fishing is gross She did manage to catch the five fish needed though.

This bear looks like it's being a bit too familiar with Storm!

This kind of activity was much more Storm's speed.

Having a bit of fun!

Back home, both girls wished to get engaged so they did .

Then it was back to doing boring skilling I think this was the first and only time Harlow did any cross-stitch.

Note to self - don't let Harlow cook!

Emerson invited Storm to GeekCon. She got first place in the Hack-a-thon, and $100 for getting 70/100 in the Gaming Event, which is the first time a sim of mine has ever done that!!!

Winterfest! After decorating the tree and opening presents, Storm gets some surprising news...

The family is invited over for a family reunion. Rose's reaction sums up my thoughts as I hadn't wanted Storm to get pregnant until after her first day of work!

The guy on the left is Spencer, Harlow's younger brother. The lady next to him is Louise, the youngest of gen 4. I can't remember why she was there but she wasn't invited I think the guests were Mabel, Emerson & Rose, Aspen & Naomi, Snow & Lawson, Winter & Molly, Peyton with kids Samson and Shawn, Oakley.

This may have been when Storm finally got around to telling Harlow about the baby...

And Father Winter arrived. Both girls were able to get gifts.

I forgot to sum up the last generation! Emerson completed four childhood aspirations and two adult ones, topped the athletic career and mastered three skills. Rose mastered cooking but didn't complete any aspirations and only got to about levell 7 or 8 of the Civil Designer career. Now they're going to settle down and wait for grandchildren to come along

Next time, Storm will finally get to work (gee, the detective career gave me issues), cousin Elliana has the baby that prompted the search to find the origin of the pointed ears, and hopefully you'll be able to meet the first of gen 7!

Oh and the tile in the bathroom of Maddy's house in my game is from the Courtyard Oasis kit!

@OJenn - that explains why I don't have that tile. I don't have very many of the kits, though I am thinking of getting the Greenhouse one. And yes, Storm's red hair is a very strong gene - there's only one out of all the biological grandchildren of Emerson and Rose who doesn't get it!!

Rebuilding Brindleton Bay Gen 6.02

Storm's first day of work as a police officer. This is the first time I've played this career so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Storm examined crime scenes, analysed data, but wasn't allowed to make an arrest yet.

Molly and Winter both showed up at the station!

Sidney Price is the chief of police. Interestingly, he is also the father of cousin Alvetta's baby son, Lennox. Alvetta, who is an evil genius, works at the police station as a detective so it's a workplace romance!! (She is probably not a good cop if she's evil but she was never anything but nice to Storm.)

Storm's cat, Bellusdeo, aged up so she and Harlow adopted a companion, Shadow.

Baby shower time at the new recreation centre in Brindleton Bay!! Invited guests were parents Emerson & Rose, siblings Aspen & Naomi, Winter & Molly, Snow & Lawson, aunts Oakley and Peyton, cousins Kayla, Sullivan, Samson, Shawn, plus grandmother Mabel. It was during this time that Rose and Storm got the Close Dynamic notification. Storm also got a new trait - Cheerful - and Harlow got the Jealous trait, which made sense as Harlow was already getting angry at Storm waving at non-existent other people in their empty house!!

The baby shower also doubled as a wedding!

Naomi was also pregnant with hers and Aspen's first child.

Later that night, Storm went into labour. Mabel is still the doctor, and the ghost of aunt Beatrice is the receptionst/nurse.

Welcome baby boy Riker Wolf! The naming theme for this generation is sci-fi characters/cottagecore.

Because I was eager to try out infants, Riker aged up the next day. He completely takes after Harlow!

And so my adventures into exploring the infant lifestage begin . This was also about the time that cousin Elliana's son Barnaby aged into an infant and I discovered the pointy ears.

I don't know how I missed seeing them in that family line before!!
Nellie is the only member to pass away during this update, but there were plenty of marriages and babies. Snow, Storm's twin, is also pregnant by the time Riker aged up, so there'll be plenty of babies next update!

Be careful if you have a fussy toddler and an infant at the same time - I've discovered that the toddlers spend an awful lot of time being sad or angry at the lack of attention if there's an infant in the house!!

Saving Strangerville - Prologue part 1

This is Senior Technician #3 reporting in from Strangerville on my first assignment. I shall be using the alias Xantara Genesis so as to better blend in with the local population. I have created a disguise as well so as to remain undetected.

I have acquired a small dwelling which has the minimum requirements for my needs. It is across the road from a bar, which I am told the
local military personnel attend, and a library frequented by the scientists.

I attended the bar but unfortunately, there was no-one around apart from the bartender.

So I then investigated the library. This was more fruitful. I met with fellow undercover contact Alexa, who I was surprised to see was not wearing a disguise. Perhaps the inhabitants of this town are more experienced with aliens than I had suspected. Or, given the self-proclaimed 'conspiracy theorists' that I met, maybe she is drawing their attention so other matters can be dealt with.

On my way back to my dwelling, I made contact with a sim named Edwin Pries, who runs a Curio shop. He was full of information about the strange happenings in the town, though I am unsure how much is actually true. Still, he could prove to be very useful in the future.

I travelled to the Secret Lab (which was very easy to find...). I documented all the evidence I could and returned to town as soon as possible - the lack of inhabitants in the lab was eerie.

As I was returning to the library to plant bugs of the scientists there (listening to their conversations might prove illuminating), I came across two inhabitants acting very strangely. I tried to talk to them but their responses were gibberish. This is likely tied in to my mission.

At the library, I was able to plant several bugs.

Upon returning to Edwin and giving him a copy of the evidence I had discovered, he gave me a keycard that will allow me further into the lab. Then I returned to my dwelling and listened in on the bugs during the evening, allowing me to plan my actions for the following day.

The next day, I returned to the lab. I could not get far as there was some strange spores in the air, so I collected them and returned to town to see if I could find Alexa, who I knew could create a filter.

I thought I'd try something different for the prologue . Xantara has the traits jealous, hot-headed and romantic, so they should be fun to find a partner with! She has the Soulmate aspiration but will be completing the Strangerville one first. I'll try and get the second part out by the end of the week...

Saving Strangerville - Prologue, part 2

After Alexa created the filter, it was back to the lab.

From there, I was able to delve deeper in to basement levels and find the cause of the strange behaviour.

It was not quite like I had imagined...

Returning to the main part of the lab, I was able to create an experimental vaccine.

I then returned to town and tested the vaccine on several inhabitants.

Using more of the alien spores, I was able to create a working vaccine. From there, I cured three inhabitants who would be able to assist me in my confrontation with the alien.

The names of the women were Jess, Leslie and Hannah, and they all agreed to assist me.

Before that, as evening approached, Leslie took me to meet her friends. The male seemed most pleasing to the eye but now was not the time for distractions.

The next morning, my friends and I returned to the lab and after a prolonged battle, were able to defeat the Mother Plant.

After our victory, we returned to town and celebrated. Thus my mission was complete.

But I was not prepared for how much I enjoyed living in this town and the people in it...

@MayaRose1138 - Xantara is blending in nicely with the local population in Strangerville! Good thing she has Alexa there for help to see the mission through. Congrats to her and her team for taking down the mother plan, I wonder how she will get on now that the task is complete and she has saved the people of Strangerville

So who is excited for the Horses EP? I’m not terribly fussed about horses (I used them very rarely in S3) and I can’t use them anyway in this challenge until gen 10 for BB and I’m not sure about Strangerville as I haven’t got that far yet in building the houses. The mini goats and sheep will be great for the remainder of my farming challenge before I bring Isolde over to San Sequoia. Will have to wait and see just exactly what is in the pack.

@Ojenn - thank you! An interesting situation developed over who Xantara would end up with, which will unfold in the next update. I’m halfway through the generation, with all the children born, but haven’t decided yet who will be heir. I have started building the next gen’s house, and there’s no room for anything outside! I think I went for the most difficult build though 🤣.

Saving Strangerville Chapter 1.01

It was time for Xantara to make a life for herself in Strangerville. There were two people she had met that interested her, so she arranged a date with both.

First was Mark Eccelston. They went to the local bar and Xantara had a fun time learning some local "customs" (I was following her whims for the most part during the date just to see how interested she actually was in Mark).

The date went really well but no wish to become boyfriend/girlfriend. So the next day, Xantara asked Leslie over on a date. It was going well until Mark arrived just as the women were kissing. Xantara asked him to leave but he wouldn't so she and Leslie went over the road to the bar for the rest of the date. It ended with Xantara asking Leslie to be her girlfriend.

Xantara decided she liked Strangerville and decided to put down roots. She called Alexa for help and soon was the proud owner of a house on top of the hill. (house plan A)

Xantara invited Mark over, as well as Leslie, so she could interact with them more and see if she had made the right decision. (Or maybe even if they would both join her household). Mark immediately asked Xantara to be his girlfriend and she accepted. They went inside and started chatting.

Leslie wandered in and out of the room, drawn to the computer in the spare bedroom, but eventually came back and gave Xantara a kiss. Mark was furious and immediately slapped Xantara!! (I missed the pic of this, I was so stunned! And I though Xantara was the hot-headed jealous one!)). Xantara wasn't having any of that and told Mark that they could no longer be together. He wasn't happy but had to accept it.

Xantara invited Leslie around for dinner and then realised she would have to cook. It seemed that cooking sim food was harder than it looks!

So while Xantara went and got started on her fitness, Leslie took over the cooking.

That evening, as they observed the stars, Leslie asked Xantara to marry her (pop-up only so no pics). Xantara agreed.

So Leslie Holland joined the household. She is a Geek, a Bookworm and a Goofball, and wants to be a Bestselling Author. She'll stay home with the children mostly while Xantara works as a Secret Agent.

One day after work, Xantara and Leslie decided to elope. They went to Tartosa and eloped in front of the Town Hall (because I obviously still can't get them there on time to actually go inside :facepalm:). Then they went had dinner at the local restaurant, and afterwards, a "spa"

Soon, Xantara found out that the romp in the spa had some consquences. Leslie wasn't thrilled initially but soon came around. Little does she know just how many kids they'll end up with...

So Xantara was having wants for both Leslie and Mark, so that's why they were both invited around. In retrospect, that may not have been the best idea. I was so stunned when Mark actually slapped Xantara for kissing someone else, even she wasn't the one who initiated the kiss. But Leslie is a good match so I'm happy with the way things worked out. Stay tuned for the first baby of the challenge!

Hey all, sorry I haven't checked in within the last few days been busy irl I got a new computer so I have been trying to get myself set back up again with my game saves and what not. I realize now that I didn't save Maddy so I need to work on remaking her but I did save the house and Theo so that saves me some steps.

In the midst of all of that I came down with food poisoning so I have just been in bed and resting for the last two days.
