If I’m remembering one of the Game Changer’s video correctly, there is a hidden rabbit hole place, a cave, I believe, that has the special kelp that turns humans into mermaids.
This is more fuzzy, but I thought I also heard there is a chance of finding this special kelp when picking up trash or collecting beach items.
There is a Mermandic kelp to eat (dunno proper spelling) that can be found in a cave thing or when digging in seaweed trash by beach. Or yeah cheat codes, and it's an instant transformation unlike vampire that takes time to turn
there are apparently multiple ways to get the kelp, to ensure you don't have to make all your sims do the exact same thing. they can get it from the cave, from digging through the trash/seaweed on the beach or in the water before your island reaches 100% conservation, a dolphin might give/bring you some at high friendship. i wouldn't doubt mermaid townies could give you some as well, but we haven't seen that one mentioned
also, should point out that even with the cave, it's not guaranteed you'll get the kelp on every visit. one person got attacked by a crab instead
