Just heard they put the prices up (but NOT for everyone). Doubt I will buy it now......

The UK does not have EUROS we still have good old english sterling :) .
At current exchange rates one euro = £0.89p one dollar =£0.79p
Price increases on virtual goods sheesh! Unless this pack is REALLY good I won't bother.
    Simming since the beginning! :)

Is there any way to buy it now? I want to play as soon as possible!

Edit: £9.99 in the UK?! They used to be £7.99, i'm looking to see if it is less expensive elsewhere. Goodbye Origin.

Actually the Canadian prices on CD Key is more than the new price of $12.99 (stuff pack) up from $10.99 on Origin at $13.99.
This does suck I will for sure not be getting anymore add on unless they are on sale for 50% off.

I could understand if they were just readjusting to match the US dollar, except that this was not the case here at least. We got an increase of 100%, from R$20 to R$40, when the dollar USD would be in fact around R$30.

R$40 was the price I paid for the base game lol I'm surely not giving that to a SP.

The price is $9.99. Currency in other countries fluctuates when compared to the dollar. Is it possible the exchange rate has increased?

Not to be ungrateful, but leave it to EA to screw up a simple release. I'm sick of them screwing everything they touch up because they have no competition in this genre. plum EA....your time is about over! There has to be a company out there willing to give EA some real competition. I'll find them!

What did they mess up? I'm actually getting it earlier than the usual release for a stuff pack. I don't see how they have messed anything up.

They increased prices of stuff, game and eps in 4 countries.

The UK price has increased to £9.99 which is $13.76 USD.

Slimy cash grab, I refuse to buy at this price. I'll wait for a sale or for it to be available elsewhere at £7.99 or less.

That really has nothing to do with the release so I was confused. I understand the surprise in those countries but as others have said, with exchange rates it's not really a shock.

I think @ElenPink 's signature basically surmises these ridiculous price increases.

Thanks. I hadn't checked the most current exchange rate recently.

I think it's pretty poor to do this and to make very little noise about it. It's very easy for game changers to say "oh just buy it, it's only 10 bucks" but they get given the product for free so that's irrelevant.

oh well $3.00 price increase in Canada...

Now people understand why I don't pay $10 for stuff packs in my own country? I feel like I'd have a heart attack if I bought them in those countries.

and here I thought £7.99 was pushing it, £10? nope,
I don't understand why prices vary so greatly from country to country :/
For physical copies I guess an argument can be made, but, digital? Why the price differences?

This is a good question, though at the same time, aren't most digital copies the same as physical copies for games? I'm in no way trying to excuse the sudden price hike, but wouldn't people with physical copies be upset that they're paying more? Idk just a thought.

@Simgurl20 I've generally done this for GPs and EPs unless I really wanted them anyways, but SPs I didn't mind giving the cash once in a while. But it's gonna have to be all sales from now on.

Well, I have to say I was shocked when I went to buy the SP to see it was £9.99, I had to do a double take! I was so sure the SP's were £7.99. Ouch, I think I will have to have a rethink as to me buying the SP or not now.

Yeah this is outrageous. I already thought $40 CAD for an EP was a bit steep. Increasing it to $52 before tax (which is 11% total where I live, bringing it to almost $60) just makes it easy for me to finally say goodbye to this game. $60 used to be the cost of a new base game. Now I’m expected to reach into my threadbare pockets and shell that same amount out for an Expansion pack. I would never buy a stuff pack for $13 either. That’s just nuts. It was barely worth $10. It’s not at all worth $13. Just no. The economy right now is getting worse and worse. We are paying more and more just to live. We are taxed on everything in Canada too. We are taxed on groceries where I live. When everything costs more and more, I can’t justify throwing money at a video game. I’ll save and buy a game I know I’ll truly enjoy. And put some aside for my child’s future. So long, Sims.

The way I look at the prices here is that for 51$ plus taxes, as someone who collects games, too, I can buy probably two SNES games on Ebay or Amazon for that price. May be risky if the batteries aren't working, but get some tech guy with a solder and a new CR-2032 and you're good. That's a bit derailing though.

To bring it back, as said, I'll wait on sales or try giveaways. Not worth reg. price.

I think that none of the packs are worth full price already.
