Let seasons be an update... If they can add toddlers into gameplay in an update they can also do seasons. And then please give us an teenage gp because honestly what are they ? They are just a more boring version of an young adult. I want to be able to run away and get couhgt by the cops and go to the ball, have parties without my parents knowing breaking all their stuff and send them off to a military scool
I would rather see a school pack, in other words a pack that includes day care, elementary and high school along with a university. They could have 3 to 4 teaching careers. I like the active careers. And I would love for them to at least come out with an elders stuff pack. Elders and teens seem to have the least things to do to me.
I would love to see university. It could mean the introduction of a British themed world taking inspiration from famous universities like Glasgow, Oxford and Cambridge.
That's a bit depressing.
A whole two years before I can enjoy Uni.
It could probably be 3 years if they release a Superstar/Showtime EP before. No uni til 2020... but that is fine with me, I want a show business EP first.
YES!! I need Seasons and University in my life NOW!! This Cats & Dogs expansion is completely useless and honestly just looks boring. It doesn't even touch TS3 Pets as it's just cats and dogs - no horses or any other animals. Lame much?! I have gotten every stuff/expansion pack they've released up until this one. No way. Give Young Adults purpose with University. They are like toddlers. Not necessary, but completely fun if you build stuff just for them AND it helps with sim development. YAs need college and stuff built just for them, otherwise, why have them? And seasons is just freakin' cool and realistic.
Honestly they should ditch stuff packs for a year and focus that time and money into making Seasons AND University for 2018 with maybe 2 or 3 game packs in between. Or, no game packs and 3 Expansions! They managed it with Sims 3, and those EPs were awesome! At this rate, by the end of its life Sims 4 will have like 5 expansions, and that's just sad.......unless their plan is no Sims 5 and drag out Sims 4 for another 4 or 5 years.....

Thatll never happen. Toddlers were patched in because people were furious a supposedly better game didnt have something so basic. They will never. And i mean never. Give something away that they for years made millions of dollars on.
That is purely bad business.
I hate EA and its moneygrubbing but even Id say "wow. That was a veeeery special business decision"
My speculations on hints for future content:
-Cars Update
-Spiral/Diagonal Stairs Update
-Hotel Pack
-Romance Pack (possibly combined with Hotel Pack)
-Bands Pack
-Royalty Pack
-Fashion Design Pack
-Fairies Pack
-Werewolf Pack
-France-inspired World
I can only repeat what I already said.
Revealing Sims 5 before Sims 4 has all the Major Content would make a lot of simmers turn away from the series, and someone that has never played a Sims game will not be encouraged to try 5 when they hear that they just abandoned 4 unfinished. After all, nothing would stop them from Abandoning 5 with neither seasons or pets available for it.
Neither Seasons nor Pets will ever be a part of any Sims base game. Never. For Busines reasons. As stated here multiple times.
Not in a free update and not in the game from day one. That would be a waste of money for them.
Asking them to give you Pets and Seasons for free is for them like you being asked to do your job without getting paid from now on.
Toddlers can be justified, as they were in 2 and 3 base game. But I think they were originally planned to be in a generations type DLC.
But as they were in DLCs in all previous Sims games, they would harm their business, their company and their own income if they patched in pets, seasons, university, any occult besides ghosts, vacation, laundry, online dating, cities, apartments, celebrities or time travel.
While open world is possible, it is not guaranteed to be returning to Sims 5. Also, nothing of the things they won't patch it into 4 will make it into the base game of Sims 5 for the same reasons. They would harm themselves even more if they decided otherwise.
I still hope that I will be able to own a rideable pet dragon. Either in Sims 4 or in a future Sims game.
If 5 gets announced before 4 even has witches, that hope is lost forever.
What exactly is the point of TS4 Sims going to college? they do everything over the internet in this game and I can't really think of any careers that would require a degree they can't get on their handy dandy pc and so don't need an actual university building/world. If you think about it I don't know of many more careers since they are already doctors, (other than lawyer etc) police chief, astronauts, game designers, etc. Those careers seem like they might have needed a degree..but what do I know. Maybe game design doesn't these days, but it might help to get some sort of educaton about it before you start to design games, then again look at apps(and their creators),...maybe not.
I'd like something different than the traditional University "party hearty" scene. With the structure of the Sims 4 worlds, you could have Sims that "commute" to college rather than moving away. Or you could have a University world and entire families would be able to move there which would be good for Sims who are already married and want to go to University. I'd also like to see improvements in education for children and teens as well, such as adding homeschooling or other options. If some sort of semi-active education options were added, similar to the CL careers, that would give a lot of flexibility -- you could choose to send your Sim to the off-screen "school/univeristy" classes so you can focus on another Sim in the household for a few Sim hours, or you'd have the option of "study from home" where you'd have requirements to fulfill. Maybe your child would have to collect 3 frogs for Biology lab, or your teen could have to interview an Elder then write an essay about life in the old days. Then University students would have assignments related to their major -- if you're majoring in Culinary maybe you have to prepare a 3 course meal (appetizer, entree, dessert), or if you're majoring in Rocket Science you have to work on the campus rocket for a couple of hours, or if it's already completed go on a space adventure. If you get good enough grades in college, you'd be able to jump all the way to where you get to choose a career track.
If it was more of a general education-focused pack, I think it would have a lot more playability, and would provide more flexibility for players; keeping children/teens home a couple of days a week would give them more opportunity to work on skills/aspirations rather than having them stuck in school 7 Sim hours a day, then have to go home and get homework done.

Took the words out of my mouth! I'm all for schools as a priority over University. I need more of a reason to play Kids/Teens outside of their immediate family unit. Schools would compliment that. Throw in some after school clubs and prom nights and I'll be very happy.
Uni is still important but they need to perfect that balance between 2 and 3 as both expansions had majorly good points alongside features that didn't work for me.

Let's say improving skills takes a shorter amount of time at campus and after your uni time you'll get a jump start on the career ladder? Uni will help you get promotions easier maybe? If I remember correctly, in ts2 the main advantage was that after uni you got home with higher skills. I think university adds more to gameplay than laundry does tbh...
I think university could definitely be a game pack. Name it Dorm living and we’re good. I would like seasons to be an Expansion though because then we can get things like holidays, more activities, more clothes/outfits and extras like sunburn and frostbite. I think it’s all achievable by the end of 2018!
I think they should release a gp that doesn't only focus on university but also elementary, middle and high school. I remember with the sims 3 so many people wanted to experience prom and boarding school etc.

I absolutely agree!!! There should be so much more for education and learning. I mean, they do well with schools / homework / projects / scouting / drama atm but there is definitely room for so much more, including the Day Care career like they had in TS3. A great EP pack would be principally a University pack where:
1. Sims could go to University like they did in TS2 and 3, but with more subjects as there were in TS2, especially History and Archaeology, which would tie in well with the current Archaeology skill. This more academic focus would contribute to higher pay in jobs, further skill gain with special rewards, and maybe even something to collect (for 'Collector' aspiration, maybe), like education-themed objects and diploma certificates. Sims could go at any age from Teen upwards, as they did in TS2 / 3, though perhaps it might be more suitable if they get the option to go upon aging up from Teen to Young Adult, to make it more realistic.
2. As an alternative to a 'traditional' college / university, Sims could also go to their community college to work on skills, and pay for skills classes, like they could in previous incarnations of The Sims. Teen Sims could also do an apprenticeship as an alternative to a paid after-school job to pick up some new skills that will prepare them for the world of work. Also, if adult Sims didn't get their High School Diploma, they could get it via evening class.
3. School for kids could remain much the same, but with the option of going to a private school or one that specialises, like in TS2 and especially 3.
4. Day Care should return as a career! It was great fun.
Let's hope 2019 really is the Year of the University! I'd call it 'Sims 4 Edu', or something similar, as a new EP.
I would love an Education pack including university but also private schools like Montessori online schooling as an option, Charter schools and even reform and military schools as options too along with other options.
Playtesting - not just tabletop games and card games any more. Really that should have been playtested in Beta and not
Hey folks, I'm going to leave this thread open as we're now in 2019 (even though it's originally from 2017, which feels like forever ago!). That said, let's please leave the chatter about our "extracurriculars" during uni/college to ourselves and keep this Sims related, thanks~

I second that.
Hahahahahahaha... that's so sad, and yet so true. Come to think of it, I am about to complete my degree this year. So that's exactly what I've done.
