Hi. I just now went to go into the game and knowing that there was an update waiting I let it do it's thing and update. Well, it didn't update. I sent a ticket already via the window that popped up. I decided to try repairing the game. Well, now it's stuck with the base game finalizing which means none of the other games can repair either. I wasn't planning on going back to sims 3 until maybe January, but seeing that I can't play my sims 4 game due to this issue it looks like I'll be going back to sims 3 sooner then I planned.
It's been stuck for about ten minutes.
Please help me.

Try logging out of origin. Then shut down your computer completely . Restart the computer, log into Origin, then see if the issues remain.

There was a problem while updating your game. One or more files that requires an update may be in use. If the issue persists please restart your computer and resume the update.
Any suggestions, tips, pointers? I miss the days of Sims3 when you could download the patches manually

It would be best to completely shut down your computer. Then restart the computer. Go to Windows Update on your computer, and make sure that your computer is uptodate with patches. Then try logging into Origin and updating your game.

I already have a laptop with Sims 4 on it and now I am trying to download it to my desktop. But its stuck on finalizing and it won't let me log out :( I'm not sure what to do here. It's been stuck for a day now smh. Any suggestions?

it will not let me sign out of origin what do i do and it is stuck on finalizing

Try seeing if uninstalling and reinstalling origin may help to prevent this occurring the next tine that there is a game patch.
