Today I played from Rachelle's point of view. Aleki called and invited her on an oh-so-romantic date to the university hangout.
Felix was debating there.
Partway through the date, Rachelle autonomously left Aleki to go sit with her ex-husband. I think she was just trying to mend fences and let Zachariah (on the left) know that she's seeing someone now.
Rachelle's roommate Charly went jogging and cleaned the house.
Charly and Rachelle threw a dinner party at Aleki's house.
Meanwhile, Kassandra, Romek, Paco, Jun, Aleks, John, Nadia, and Comfort moved into transitional housing through a non-profit program that helps low-income Sims live in a group tiny home until they can transition into regular housing.
This should be the last of the Kemp's Zalrian updates.
Running a store that serves as a place for merfolk to learn how to live like humans can be a real challenge at times. Kemps always has to chase after merfolk into the sea, and then, they almost always forget to change out of their swimwear or occult attire.
Haych worked on answering Aaron's questions. Aaron is Kylen Kailani's husband. Since he's a merman in the pod himself, Haych's appearance didn't phase him.
Kemp's praised Hana for focusing on the customers and answering their questions. Haych seemed to be working hard too, so he praised him too.
Kemp's had to give Anas a new task. It seemed that the moment he had nothing to do he went for a swim.
While Kemp's gave Anas a new task, the other two also came over to goof off. He had to give Hana a new task too.
Haych: "And that's when I saw him eat the sea slug."
Anas: "Gross."
The next day was Traveler's Day, and the pod went to Triton Beach for Karaoke. The pod might be made of different families, but they are like one big family.
Andria watched Lyric rock the Karaoke machine. Despite developing a people person lifestyle, Andria and Lyric are still very close.
As the night came to an end, as many members of the pod that could be there showed up. As Fin sang country, the Kailanis caught up with each other. Kylen, with his husband, gave his parents an updates on how things were going with them and how they found a white tail merboy lost at sea and took him in to live with them. This was exciting news given that the white tails used to be a lineage of Elder Merfolk in the pod.
With the mermaids leading the way, the pod swam home after a long day. Sara fell behind with Lyric. It was important for at least one adult in the pod to keep pace with the merboy.
On the last day of spring, Kemps played his first videogame. His reaction was kinda hilarious.
Tuvok lives in my favorite build of all the builds in my game, an abandoned bowling alley. Unfortunately, there are reasons it was abandoned. Today Tuvok was attacked by:
plasma bats...
spiders...
and hornets.
In between all the attacks, he did satisfying work, got a promotion, and spent time with his friends, Arthur Dent and Spock.
The Sulani Rags to Riches Challenge: The Orphan Merman: Calden Azure
After Mua Pel'am recovered, Calden was one of the first merfolk to return to the islands from the sea. Naturally, this young merman lived in the sea all his life, and he lacked the magic to shapeshift into a human form like the Mua Pel'am pod could. Normally, he wouldn't have considered taking the appearance of squid legs or having anything to do with them on land, not after what they did to the merfolk's sacred island. But, things were different and the island had recovered with the help of merfolk and humans working together. If the Mua Pel'Am pod never gave humans a chance or took action, nothing would change. Someone had to care enough to do something. He wanted to follow in their fins. Naturally, if you go anywhere in the sea, you swim.
When Calden surfaced at Mua Pel'Am, he was upset by the sight of trash on the shore and in the water. Despite the island's recovery, it was clear that protecting the island was a task that didn't end with its recovery. The young merman went to work cleaning the trash before exploring the island merfolk lost to the humans pollution. The trash slimed him, but the effort was worth it.
Like all merfolk, Calden had an ocean familiar and dolphriend. His dolphin was named Marlin.
Calden: "Marlin! Where are you buddy?"
Marlin surfaced with a squeak.
Calden: "How are you buddy?"
Marlin: "So many fish. Like seahorses and seadragons?"
Calden: "You mean those seahorse looking critters that hide in the seaweed. They are pretty cool."

The two chatted until the next day. Marlin fetched treasures from the sea to help Calden save up for building a place on land. Calden always petted Marlin to let him know that he was grateful for his help.
While Marlin was distracted by the Sea Turtles visiting the shore, Calden jumped up and splashed him.
Marlin retaliated by splashing back. Some of the droplets got in Claden's eyes.
Calden thought: "That stings like a jellyfish."
Calden: "Have you seen those squid legs diving deep underwater? I narrowly evaded one exploring my sunken ship."
Marlin: "I never chat with them and swim away too."
Calden: "I'm too nervous to talk to a squid legs. They scare me a little, but I've given it some thought. I want to have squid legs too."
Marlin brushed up against the young merman and he petted him.
Marlin: "Why would you ever want squid legs?"
Calden: "I don't, but the Mua Pel'am pod has done so much for the island. I want to be able to do the same, and I need squid legs to do it."
Calden left the shore as humans began to gather on the beach. He was still shy around the squid legs.
Near an orange drifter, Calden spotted dolphins hunting a school of fish and proceeded to swim around with them. It was all in fun because merfolk didn't need to eat or drink as long as they swam in the sea. The sea sustains their needs. Staying hydrated was the most important thing to any merperson.
Calden met Kylen at the merfolk's secret spot.
Calden: "The coral here is so colorful. I love it."
Kylen: "Mua Pel'am has recovered a lot thanks to humans and merfolk working together. Not all humans know we exist, but many merfolk became conservationists and changed how the humans treated the environment."
Calden: "I want to do the same. I'm studying the shapeshifting mermadic power to get squid legs at Kanaloa High under the sea as an extra curricular activity."
Kylen: "Try not to use that word around humans. I'm not sure they would understand."
Calden: "You mean squid legs?"
Kylen: "I think you have a lot to learn about humans before you get your legs."
Calden: "I'm trying."
Calden rolled his tongue over the word "Human" as he said it: "That word is still odd to say."
Kylen returned to swimming, so Calden pulled himself just past the water's edge and began to read about humans in his text book. The art of shapeshifting into a human form also required learning about them. "Human" it still felt weird to say. Kylen saw the merboy studying and decided to entertain him with a story about a dragon in the mermadic cave at the base of the volcano. Kylen spent so much time alone after his parents passed that he forgot what it felt like to have a pod or family looking after him. Even at Kanaloa High, he was a loner in a school of merfolk.
Kylen: "You wouldn't believe it. But the fire in the Volcano is fueled by a dragon deep inside the mermadic cave. Some will tell you that Ember is the Volcanoes spirit, but the truth is that a dragon lives inside there, and it's huge."
Calden "Really?!"
Kylen: "Absolutely!"
Calden called over Marlin again to tell him about seeing a merperson in human form for the first time. The loyal familiar showed up immediately.
Calden: "I saw merman shapeshift into human form today! It was so cool!"
Marlin: "You're becoming a squid legs lover. I still can't understand why you want them. You can't do this with squid legs."
Calden petted Marlin: "Show off."
Marlin: "So you still want squid legs."
Calden: "Of course I do, I want to swim with a pod again, and I want to protect the sea around this island."
Marlin: "Well, if your heart is set on it, you have my support. Make a splash."
Calden: "I'm trying but I still can't change form. I'm such a slow learner."
Next to an orange drifter, the merboy decided to sunbathe and get a sweet tan before the end of the weekend. Also, a trip into the deep blue was in order. He had to check on his sunken ship he called home.
Feeling a little tired but not ready for the weekend to end, Calden instigated some mermadic mischief and sang a siren song and lured a snobbish human that littered into the water. When he swam over toward the Mua Pel'Am pod elder, the merboy swam as fast as he could to deeper water to hide.
In the deeper water, Calden called over Marlin: "What's Splashing?"
Marlin saw the sky and thought a thunderstorm was coming.
Marlin: "The clouds. There might be a storm on its way."
Calden: "Why? It's sunny."
Calden: "Do squid legs know it might storm?"
Marlin's thoughts: "Why would he be worried about the squid legs?"
Marlin: "I'm sure they'll be fine. I'm more worried about you up here near the surface."
Calden: "Don't worry about me. When the sky starts to look like pufferfish, I'll find a place to take shelter."
Marlin thought: "Never heard clouds called that before."
School at Kanaloa High was about to begin, so the merboy made one last swim with the dolphins before leaving for school. When he got home, he was mortified from embarrassment. It was a mood swing he had. A lot of the other students didn't understand why he would want to live on land. He knew life was better under the sea, but he had his dream of looking after their island after all. He decided to sleep it off.
When he woke up, he called Marlin to seek comfort.
Marlin saw him crying and squeaked as he pushed himself out of the water: "What's wrong? You can tell me."
Calden rubbed the tears out of his eyes: "Nothing, I just wanted to chat."
Marlin: "Wait here, I'll find something to cheer you up."
Calden perked up: "I'll wait right here."
Marlin returned with a Fighting Plakat that Calden was happy to release back into the sea.
Feeling better, Calden started smiling again: "Thanks Marlin. I feel much better now."
Marlin: "If it happens again, let me know who so I can give them a taste of my fin."
Feeling better, Calden pulled himself onto the shore and began working on a school project exploring electricity, the kind that electric eels discharge underwater.
The school project required a bit craftiness and handiness.
(His Handiness Skill reached level 2 completing the project. One required skill for building the hut's bathroom complete.)
Calden was careful to check the instructions on the waterproof instructions.
Calden Carefully screwed together each component.
The wrench proved difficult to turn in spite of his mermadic strength that allowed him to swim faster than any squid legs his age.
Before long, it was dawn and he just started studying the Art of Shapeshifting into a Human again.
The art of shapeshifting was a very interesting topic, but his tail felt sore sitting on land, and he needed to leave before humans showed up.
Before attending Kanaloa High, Calden met a new Dolphin friend: "What's up pufferfish?"
Flynn tilted his head. "Nothing much. By the way, the name is Flynn, not pufferfish."
Calden: "Oh, haven't you noticed how colorful the coral is here. It's beautiful."
Flynn: "I noticed, I like it better than land coral. By the way, Doesn't a merboy like you have somewhere to be at this time. I'm catching my breakfast."
Calden sank a little: "Right, school. We're friends, though, right?"
Flynn: "Sure."
Calden shortly left his new friend to hunt his breakfast and left for school.
Flynn met Andria near the Mermadic Cave on Mua Pel'am and invited her over to ask about the art of shapeshifting.
Andria: "Have you tried looking things up on a computer?"
Claden hunched his shoulders and looked at his tail flicking in the water: "A what?"
Andria: "Oh right, you probably haven't seen one. Humans don't make many waterproof computers. They don't exactly use them in the water."
Calden: "As soon as I get squid legs, I'm going to try one."
Andria chuckled: "I haven't heard that term for humans in a while."
Calden called over Flynn: "I don't suppose you know anything about Shape Shifting into a Human>"
Flynn: "You are strange. Why would you want to have a squid legs' form?"
Calden "Because I want to help look after the sea and teach squid legs to care about it."
Flynn: "It's nothing, if not, an interesting idea."
Calden tilted his head: "You don't think I can do it."
Flynn: " I don't doubt you. I doubt a squid legs' ability to change. It isn't in their nature."
Calden petted Flynn: "Thanks buddy."
Soon after Flynn left, Kemps took notice of Calden drifting around the pod's house.
Kemps: "Aren't you a little young to be on your own."
Calden: "Well, I was hoping of Joining the Mua Pel'Am Pod and helping to look after the Island."
Kemps: "That's admirable, and I'm sure the pod members actively looking after the sea and Mua Pel'Am, my nephews included, would appreciate the help. However, you aren't ready to shapeshift into human form."
Calden: "Why not."
Kemps took a deep breath: "You're young, so I looked the other way. However, you can't use your siren song on humans or merfolk if you want to me to help you. It's forbidden magic for a reason. Do you know how close to death you brought that human by using it? We only use that song if we are threatened or absolutely need to. It's something we do in self defense. I don't possess the power to banish you, but my grandfather and the Elder Council would have."
Calden: "What can I do to be given the gift?"
Kemps: "Do what you can from the sea to prove to me that you will show restraint in using your magic. Be good to humans."
Calden: "I'll be good to the squid legs."
Kemps: "You can start by calling them what they are. You wouldn't want to be called a mergirl, so don't call them squid legs."
Calden: "I understand. I'll call humans what they are."
Kemps: "That's a start."
Before Calden returned to Kanaloa High, he did more studying. This time, Andria swam over and began mentoring the merboy. This helped him finish his studies before he left for school.
I decided it would be fun to learn the guitar. I wanted to be a chef when I grew up, but music could be a fun hobby on the side.
No-one really needs an excuse for baking, but when it's Winterfest time baking is kinda compulsory, right? So I made some peanut butter cookies and decorated them.
On Winterfest morning, Xanthe was in a playful mood and made gummy bear pancakes. Having donned our Christmas jumpers, we sat down to eat them.
"Happy Winterfest, Apollo! Hey, look at this cat!"
The cat on screen fell off a desk into a dustbin.
"Oh wow, cats can be so stupid sometimes," he laughed as the cat hopped out of the bin looking very unimpressed.
I noticed a puddle in the bathroom and decided to mop it up. As I did so, however, I realised that I really wanted to learn the Scruberoo spell. I knew that mischief and untamed magic was more enticing to Spellcasters, but practical magic was so called for a reason; it was incredibly useful!
So, with this in my mind, I went over to the "magic corner", summoned my familiar and got practising. I managed to learn the spell quickly.
I popped over to Willow Creek to give Alexander his present.
"Oh, thank you so much! I look forward to reading this!" he said.
"Great! I'm glad you like it! Right, let's get inside, it is absolutely freezing."
"Hey, Helen! How are you?" I asked.
"I'm fine, thank you."
"I hear it's your birthday soon! You'll be able to join my teen club."
"Oooh, cool! I'm most looking forward to being able to practice magic, though," she replied.
"Yeah, of course. You'll be a great Spellcaster one day."
When I got home, Xanthe and I did some tree decorating; Artemis, Apollo and our parents had already done some of it. We always used a red-and-gold colour scheme, which I loved. Unlike during previous Winterfests, we'd put the tree on the bottom floor as opposed to near the kitchen upstairs.
Later that evening, we opened presents. I opened my box eagerly... and got a freaking CARROT. Seriously, I'm not a rabbit or horse! I liked carrots, but that was beside the point. To make matters worse, Xanthe got a slablet. Ah well, perhaps it was just a mix up, and I'd see the funny side one day.
When I asked Father Winter for a gift, I fared much better, receiving a fun MySims toy. They were a popular collectible item.

He went to the onsen, where the only Vulcan young woman in my entire game, T'Pol, just happened to show up. (Tuvok is also Vulcan.)
He invited her back to his bedroom... to play chess.
Tuvok got to know the Flower Bunny.
He joined the Vulcans for Democracy club. T'Pol's mother, T'Pau, called a meeting at the Willow Creek conference room. (The club is open to other outlanders in addition to Vulcans.)
Later, the club took a trip to Sulani for some relaxation.
It was Winterfest on Copeland household. Matt and his alien daughter Mysteria and Matt's wife Dina Caliente were chatting about the presents after Father Winter had left.
Matt & Dina's teen daughter Lucy was playing computer games on her laptop.
Mysteria was on a very good mood and started dancing.

When Winterfest was over Matt went jogging because he felt like he had overeaten during the holiday. He's always been a bit chubby and when he married Dina he's been very self conscious about his weight because Dina is an athlete and she's very fit.
Later Matt tried to help his children with homework, but their labrador retriever Charlie wanted attention too.
Matt is reading a book to his granddaughter Amanda who doesn't seem very amused.
Lucy showed photos to her sister Ariel who is Matt's oldest daughter (and Amanda's mom) from his previous marriage.
Apparently something embarrassed Lucy...
She cried to her mother Dina about it.
When everyone had gone to sleep Katrina Caliente's ghost appreared and it seems like she's the only one who can eat leftovers from the fridge on her own.
Madison gave birth to Wanda and Quanita today. I think it's time to set her to "can't get pregnant" lol. I got screenshots but I've been lazy to upload them, I got quite the backlog now.
Well, 2 out 7 is not bad I guess. Wanda is the only girl(out of 5 sisters) with the iconic Denny blonde hair, and the rest take after Jade in hair color, which is black. Henry is the only boy(his brother takes after Jade).
Maria and Irina are ballet dancers. I was using a career mod that stopped working, so today I tried out the Showtime mod. It's quite fun! So the girls did several street gigs, and Irina did a professional solo gig.

@Rouensims I kind of wish Sims 4 had more hobbies for kids and teens. Only scouts or acting is rather limited. Scouts is useful for the Scouting Aptitude trait, but even so... I know there are mods that offer more, but I’m not sure how up-to-date they are.
So, I have about 1 and a half sim weeks before I start my Sulani Rags to Riches challenge.
My rules are simple. I'm limiting my sim to Island Living Content and whatever he can afford to buy from the Undine Emporium run by Kemps.
My sim will be a merman. 🧜🏼♂️
He will be a teenager with the goal to get all 5 character values in the positive for the traits.
He will be limited to 1 odd job a week for income.
He can beach comb for shells, and he can sell only one collectible per week.
Items that can't be purchased in a store, for example: rugs, counters, roof objects like solar panels and wind turbines, can be purchased from the catalog.
Lot Traits will be limited to Island Living Lot Traits: Volcanic Activity, Island Spirits, and Off the Grid.
Using Carl's Guide, I identified which levels unlock different things. So, when a sim reaches these levels in handiness, they should be able to perform upgrades on the objects used in the room. The Logic skill can take a long time to build up. If more than one sim is in the household, I would delay things more by requiring all of them to reach these levels. Items for a room can be purchased from the store.

I'm certain that I'm forgetting something, and I had to dig up one of my oldest posts from when I experimented with the challenge to add to this post.
After everything I've done in the game, I'm still setting up my households. I did have a few glitches brake my saves and force a restart.
My only augmentation to these rules for my Island Living Rags to Riches challenge will be that all items found beach combing can be sold, but the Island Living Collections still need to be completed, and the items found beach combing can still be useful enough to not sell. Almost all of them have a functional use, so it does make selling them a difficult choice.
The Collections that must be completed are as follows:
The Sea Shells Collection
The Buried Treasure
All Island Living Fish (Without braking any conservation laws)
All Island Living Plants
All Island Living Photos
All Crystals, Fossils, Metals, and Geodes without leaving Sulani or buying them. The presence of a Volcano means that these things are very accessible in many different ways.
Because I have set up lots that have complete collections, it will be off limits to steal from Conservation Museums or other lots with collectibles in them.
All collectibles must be kept in the house. Meaning that this can be a real challenge given the fines for gathering some collectibles in the wrong way. This also makes being a merman, mermaid, or simply having the Child of the Ocean trait very important.
Before aging up, the sim must have five character values, ideally positive but they can be negative, and an A in high school.
The Merman in my game will be the third youngest in the pod, and for manual aging up, a time limit of one sim month or simply waiting for the desired goals to be completed is acceptable. This challenge is designed with auto aging turned off in mind.
I'm going to try and reach the age up goals before the end of his rotation.
I think the Biology Degree is a must for the Conservation Career, but the sim must attend University from Home. Merfolk must become Marine Biologists. Human Islanders must become conservationists.
There should be a moral dilemma for acquiring income. The conservationist career is unlocked after the degree for it is completed. This should mean that odd jobs and beachcombing should be the only source of income until the sim can go to University.
Purchases from anything in world is acceptable provided the funds are available.
Last Edit: The Mansion Baron Aspiration will also be a required aspiration.
I forgot to add the traits needed for the bedroom.
Because he's a merman, Cold Acclimation, Heat Acclimation, and Storm Chaser are all traits that are mandatory for a bedroom. So I'm editing that into my list of rules.
Calden finally gets his human form! He also saved up some money from things he collected in the sea to buy human clothes to go with the new form. He's also good friends with Juniper and Lyric. The three merboys and youngest members of the pod. I think of them as naturally becoming good friends simply because they are closest to the same age in the pod.
Kemps is starting to complain about the youths now. lol.
On the other side of things, I see the three merboys being pod brothers (brothers that are related by their connection to the pod instead of blood) and causing trouble for Kemps.

Parenting Problems
Griffin has been training up his vampiric offspring, Bjorn Bjergsen. He’s determined to get Bjorn’s vampiric level up to prime master. He doesn’t want to see him burnt to a crispy little bat out in the sun. So Bjorn gets lots of lectures about the dangers of sunlight
Griffin is having the most trouble with his daughter Lissette. She has been stuck on the same Distant phase for awhile now and gets really tense around family members. But she takes it out on her family and is downright nasty. She started insulting her father one evening
This has been a problem. She ripped her brother a new one earlier that evening. Griffin heard it from across the house apparently. They were upstairs. But he was downstairs cooking when he heard it lol. Must be the vampiric hearing…
But insulting her father was the last straw. Especially after her emotional meltdown
Griffin grounded her. No video games!! For a geeky kid like Lisette, that hurt lol.
She stormed up stairs in a huff
Simeon’s Aspirations
I played Simeon Silversweater and his family for a few sim days! I know Simeon ships with the Renaissance Sim aspiration with each save. Why not any of the spellcaster aspirations is weird to me. I decided to fix that! I had him work on both aspirations from the Realm of Magic pack (The potions/alchemy one) and the spellcaster one. He is top ranking so that wasn’t hard!
He had to do a lot of duelling other sims
He finished both!!!
Hot Stuff
Simeon was feeling his oats. He could tell his magical powers were growing! I spotted his neighbor Joanna running by in terror. They’ve been talking on the phone everyday or texting.
He stopped her and asked what was wrong. I guess she had another ghostly appearance at her haunted house
He managed to calm her down. They talked about the upcoming second season the Star Trek series Picard
Then Simeon autonomously flirted with her!
She followed up by complimenting his outfit. That gave them a romance bar!
Duel for Love?
He then asked her to a friendly duel. Really? Ok Simeon…
It was intense
He got in a few blasts of magic. She blocked them effectively!
She delivered a few stinging blasts herself
Simeon got incensed. And went a bit overboard
OW!!!
Joanna flew off after that. I sent Simeon on home.

Joanna was hoping Bonehilda would help...but she was more interested in flirting with herself in the mirror
Joanna would have to deal with the menace that is Temperance on her own. Basically Jo was terrified of her and was failing at everything. She begged the ghost to leave this family alone
Temperance laughed in her face. We were also running out of time for her work session. Joanna resorted to her basic nature to fight back. Temperance was breaking everything and scaring the kids so Joanna sent a shock spell
Temperance didn’t know what to make of it!
But the blast worked! It left Temperance dazed
Joanna was then able to use her meagre vampire powers to glamor Temperance and make her leave
Joanna is high ranking spellcaster but she is a weak vampire (she’s a hybrid). She relies heavily on her magical powers to handle most situations. But I think her Grandmaster vampire brother Griffin would have approved of how she handled the situation

The next day was Saturday. And the Festival of Romance was going on in the big city! The weather was forecasted to be beautiful. So Joanna bundled up her older 3 and they traveled to San Myshuno. She bumped into her parents being disgustingly cute together. Her mom Maribelle is a virtuoso witch that recently drank the immortality potion. Her dad Harry is an ancient vampire.
They are such a cute couple I hate to think of Maribelle dying and leaving Harry alone. They always wind up pairing up no matter what save I play them. Joanna gave her mom a huge hug
The kids thought the Romance Festival was awesome! Tristan was throwing flower petals at everyone. He did this himself!
Valyria and Maximus followed suit. I didn’t know children could throw festival flowers!
Everyone drank some sakura tea.

We start off pretty grim *sigh*
Hammy the Hamster passed away!
It was not actually the original Hammy, but Hammy 2 but Hazel never knew that (Dec her dad and Vanessa hide that from her).

After standing in shock waiting for this to not be real, reality hit and Hazel broke into tears crying her heart out.
A Sad, Stressful Day
She turned to her bunnies on her night stand and viewed each one including her stuffed bun-bun, tears welled in her eyes and back down her face, a thought entering her mind.
Hazel's Thoughts: At least they can't leave me, they are not alive.

Rod, Vanessa half brother came over, he was in an angry mood, after calming him down, Vanessa decided they would go to the movies, Hazel too, Declan did not wish to go.
Rod ran ahead and Vanessa and Hazel followed after.
While they were gone at the movies, Amelia came by to try and find test dummies for her practicing on massages, she did all the reading and studying now she needed to put it into practice.
Vanessa dropped of Rod back at home with her dad Tucker and her step-mom Rachel.
Then she did Hazel's night time routine tucking in her extra tight and staying with her, reading an extra story and promising Hammy is in a happy place for hamsters.
Then realizing Amelia had been abandoned downstairs she came to chat with her of course.
They talk about her strange symptoms she has been having and also her new massage home business she was trying to start up.

Vanessa breath caught as her eyes widened like alien saucers, it was by far her first kiss but still with him... she relaxed closing her eyes enjoying this new moment wishing for more already.
The two spent some more time together after the entail kiss, doing a mix of shy and yet comfortable kissing and cuddles.

Vanessa held on to him tightly, she chuckled at having the feelings she read so much about in books not ever wanting to let go.

Beck asked hopefully holding her to the same degree.

I check the receiving moodlet for saying I love you and my heart melted because Mckenna started out so angry and hating love because of what her "mom" Gemma exposed her too as a child, aka horrible neglect and countless of woohooing with no romance attached.
I need a little break from my decade challenge and are playing with Charlotte and Tomax (non-story, just playing), but at first I would to like show how the third child Toni Kaufmann looks as toddler. I have found some bavarian cc by Ingeli and Toni looks so cute in this outfit.
I had to dig deep through my savefiles to find an early Charlotte, which I wanted to play from the start. I have bought a new pc last year and the old saved sims were all gone. I love this couple, they fit together and deeply adore each other.

They most to the expensive house, I have ever build. Even without any furnitures it costs almost 150.000 Simeleons. I'm sure you are recognised the building, it a famous house in Los Angeles, and because I'm not the only one who have build it. But I need to decorate it, the interior is not finished yet. Charlotte hates it's undecorated style at the moment. It's quite empty right now.
@sarabeth2984 I loved your update. Dylan (I think) summoned Bonehilda to help with Temperance while his twin brother, father, and Ember kept her busy. But Bonehilda went to tend to a fishing trap on the opposite side of the neighborhood.
Temperance stopped coming by after being zapped by Ember, Zeph conjured a thunderstorm that made her afraid, and Calum sang his Aegean's Question that stressed her out.
I have more I want to respond to. However, I'll answer the question about the suits of armor. They weren't actually recovered from underwater. It was just a storytelling gimmick to be funny. 😄
Have twins. Cayla went off for college, Lory hitched. Playing Cayla when she gets a call, Lory had twins herself. Unplanned, but thinking of making every generation have twins now.

The Mua Pel'Am Pod Elder: Kemps Zalrian
This should be the last of the Kemp's Zalrian updates.
Running a store that serves as a place for merfolk to learn how to live like humans can be a real challenge at times. Kemps always has to chase after merfolk into the sea, and then, they almost always forget to change out of their swimwear or occult attire.
Haych worked on answering Aaron's questions. Aaron is Kylen Kailani's husband. Since he's a merman in the pod himself, Haych's appearance didn't phase him.
Kemp's praised Hana for focusing on the customers and answering their questions. Haych seemed to be working hard too, so he praised him too.
Kemp's had to give Anas a new task. It seemed that the moment he had nothing to do he went for a swim.
While Kemp's gave Anas a new task, the other two also came over to goof off. He had to give Hana a new task too.
Haych: "And that's when I saw him eat the sea slug."
Anas: "Gross."
The next day was Traveler's Day, and the pod went to Triton Beach for Karaoke. The pod might be made of different families, but they are like one big family.
Andria watched Lyric rock the Karaoke machine. Despite developing a people person lifestyle, Andria and Lyric are still very close.
As the night came to an end, as many members of the pod that could be there showed up. As Fin sang country, the Kailanis caught up with each other. Kylen, with his husband, gave his parents an updates on how things were going with them and how they found a white tail merboy lost at sea and took him in to live with them. This was exciting news given that the white tails used to be a lineage of Elder Merfolk in the pod.
With the mermaids leading the way, the pod swam home after a long day. Sara fell behind with Lyric. It was important for at least one adult in the pod to keep pace with the merboy.
On the last day of spring, Kemps played his first videogame. His reaction was kinda hilarious.

The Sulani Rags to Riches Challenge: The Orphan Merman: Calden Azure
After Mua Pel'am recovered, Calden was one of the first merfolk to return to the islands from the sea. Naturally, this young merman lived in the sea all his life, and he lacked the magic to shapeshift into a human form like the Mua Pel'am pod could. Normally, he wouldn't have considered taking the appearance of squid legs or having anything to do with them on land, not after what they did to the merfolk's sacred island. But, things were different and the island had recovered with the help of merfolk and humans working together. If the Mua Pel'Am pod never gave humans a chance or took action, nothing would change. Someone had to care enough to do something. He wanted to follow in their fins. Naturally, if you go anywhere in the sea, you swim.
When Calden surfaced at Mua Pel'Am, he was upset by the sight of trash on the shore and in the water. Despite the island's recovery, it was clear that protecting the island was a task that didn't end with its recovery. The young merman went to work cleaning the trash before exploring the island merfolk lost to the humans pollution. The trash slimed him, but the effort was worth it.
Like all merfolk, Calden had an ocean familiar and dolphriend. His dolphin was named Marlin.
Calden: "Marlin! Where are you buddy?"
Marlin surfaced with a squeak.
Calden: "How are you buddy?"
Marlin: "So many fish. Like seahorses and seadragons?"
Calden: "You mean those seahorse looking critters that hide in the seaweed. They are pretty cool."

While Marlin was distracted by the Sea Turtles visiting the shore, Calden jumped up and splashed him.
Marlin retaliated by splashing back. Some of the droplets got in Claden's eyes.
Calden thought: "That stings like a jellyfish."
Calden: "Have you seen those squid legs diving deep underwater? I narrowly evaded one exploring my sunken ship."
Marlin: "I never chat with them and swim away too."
Calden: "I'm too nervous to talk to a squid legs. They scare me a little, but I've given it some thought. I want to have squid legs too."
Marlin brushed up against the young merman and he petted him.
Marlin: "Why would you ever want squid legs?"
Calden: "I don't, but the Mua Pel'am pod has done so much for the island. I want to be able to do the same, and I need squid legs to do it."
Calden left the shore as humans began to gather on the beach. He was still shy around the squid legs.
Near an orange drifter, Calden spotted dolphins hunting a school of fish and proceeded to swim around with them. It was all in fun because merfolk didn't need to eat or drink as long as they swam in the sea. The sea sustains their needs. Staying hydrated was the most important thing to any merperson.
Calden met Kylen at the merfolk's secret spot.
Calden: "The coral here is so colorful. I love it."
Kylen: "Mua Pel'am has recovered a lot thanks to humans and merfolk working together. Not all humans know we exist, but many merfolk became conservationists and changed how the humans treated the environment."
Calden: "I want to do the same. I'm studying the shapeshifting mermadic power to get squid legs at Kanaloa High under the sea as an extra curricular activity."
Kylen: "Try not to use that word around humans. I'm not sure they would understand."
Calden: "You mean squid legs?"
Kylen: "I think you have a lot to learn about humans before you get your legs."
Calden: "I'm trying."
Calden rolled his tongue over the word "Human" as he said it: "That word is still odd to say."
Kylen returned to swimming, so Calden pulled himself just past the water's edge and began to read about humans in his text book. The art of shapeshifting into a human form also required learning about them. "Human" it still felt weird to say. Kylen saw the merboy studying and decided to entertain him with a story about a dragon in the mermadic cave at the base of the volcano. Kylen spent so much time alone after his parents passed that he forgot what it felt like to have a pod or family looking after him. Even at Kanaloa High, he was a loner in a school of merfolk.
Kylen: "You wouldn't believe it. But the fire in the Volcano is fueled by a dragon deep inside the mermadic cave. Some will tell you that Ember is the Volcanoes spirit, but the truth is that a dragon lives inside there, and it's huge."
Calden "Really?!"
Kylen: "Absolutely!"
Calden called over Marlin again to tell him about seeing a merperson in human form for the first time. The loyal familiar showed up immediately.
Calden: "I saw merman shapeshift into human form today! It was so cool!"
Marlin: "You're becoming a squid legs lover. I still can't understand why you want them. You can't do this with squid legs."
Calden petted Marlin: "Show off."
Marlin: "So you still want squid legs."
Calden: "Of course I do, I want to swim with a pod again, and I want to protect the sea around this island."
Marlin: "Well, if your heart is set on it, you have my support. Make a splash."
Calden: "I'm trying but I still can't change form. I'm such a slow learner."
Next to an orange drifter, the merboy decided to sunbathe and get a sweet tan before the end of the weekend. Also, a trip into the deep blue was in order. He had to check on his sunken ship he called home.
Feeling a little tired but not ready for the weekend to end, Calden instigated some mermadic mischief and sang a siren song and lured a snobbish human that littered into the water. When he swam over toward the Mua Pel'Am pod elder, the merboy swam as fast as he could to deeper water to hide.
In the deeper water, Calden called over Marlin: "What's Splashing?"
Marlin saw the sky and thought a thunderstorm was coming.
Marlin: "The clouds. There might be a storm on its way."
Calden: "Why? It's sunny."
Calden: "Do squid legs know it might storm?"
Marlin's thoughts: "Why would he be worried about the squid legs?"
Marlin: "I'm sure they'll be fine. I'm more worried about you up here near the surface."
Calden: "Don't worry about me. When the sky starts to look like pufferfish, I'll find a place to take shelter."
Marlin thought: "Never heard clouds called that before."
School at Kanaloa High was about to begin, so the merboy made one last swim with the dolphins before leaving for school. When he got home, he was mortified from embarrassment. It was a mood swing he had. A lot of the other students didn't understand why he would want to live on land. He knew life was better under the sea, but he had his dream of looking after their island after all. He decided to sleep it off.
When he woke up, he called Marlin to seek comfort.
Marlin saw him crying and squeaked as he pushed himself out of the water: "What's wrong? You can tell me."
Calden rubbed the tears out of his eyes: "Nothing, I just wanted to chat."
Marlin: "Wait here, I'll find something to cheer you up."
Calden perked up: "I'll wait right here."
Marlin returned with a Fighting Plakat that Calden was happy to release back into the sea.
Feeling better, Calden started smiling again: "Thanks Marlin. I feel much better now."
Marlin: "If it happens again, let me know who so I can give them a taste of my fin."
Feeling better, Calden pulled himself onto the shore and began working on a school project exploring electricity, the kind that electric eels discharge underwater.
The school project required a bit craftiness and handiness.
(His Handiness Skill reached level 2 completing the project. One required skill for building the hut's bathroom complete.)
Calden was careful to check the instructions on the waterproof instructions.
Calden Carefully screwed together each component.
The wrench proved difficult to turn in spite of his mermadic strength that allowed him to swim faster than any squid legs his age.
Before long, it was dawn and he just started studying the Art of Shapeshifting into a Human again.
The art of shapeshifting was a very interesting topic, but his tail felt sore sitting on land, and he needed to leave before humans showed up.
Before attending Kanaloa High, Calden met a new Dolphin friend: "What's up pufferfish?"
Flynn tilted his head. "Nothing much. By the way, the name is Flynn, not pufferfish."
Calden: "Oh, haven't you noticed how colorful the coral is here. It's beautiful."
Flynn: "I noticed, I like it better than land coral. By the way, Doesn't a merboy like you have somewhere to be at this time. I'm catching my breakfast."
Calden sank a little: "Right, school. We're friends, though, right?"
Flynn: "Sure."
Calden shortly left his new friend to hunt his breakfast and left for school.
Flynn met Andria near the Mermadic Cave on Mua Pel'am and invited her over to ask about the art of shapeshifting.
Andria: "Have you tried looking things up on a computer?"
Claden hunched his shoulders and looked at his tail flicking in the water: "A what?"
Andria: "Oh right, you probably haven't seen one. Humans don't make many waterproof computers. They don't exactly use them in the water."
Calden: "As soon as I get squid legs, I'm going to try one."
Andria chuckled: "I haven't heard that term for humans in a while."
Calden called over Flynn: "I don't suppose you know anything about Shape Shifting into a Human>"
Flynn: "You are strange. Why would you want to have a squid legs' form?"
Calden "Because I want to help look after the sea and teach squid legs to care about it."
Flynn: "It's nothing, if not, an interesting idea."
Calden tilted his head: "You don't think I can do it."
Flynn: " I don't doubt you. I doubt a squid legs' ability to change. It isn't in their nature."
Calden petted Flynn: "Thanks buddy."
Soon after Flynn left, Kemps took notice of Calden drifting around the pod's house.
Kemps: "Aren't you a little young to be on your own."
Calden: "Well, I was hoping of Joining the Mua Pel'Am Pod and helping to look after the Island."

Kemps took a deep breath: "You're young, so I looked the other way. However, you can't use your siren song on humans or merfolk if you want to me to help you. It's forbidden magic for a reason. Do you know how close to death you brought that human by using it? We only use that song if we are threatened or absolutely need to. It's something we do in self defense. I don't possess the power to banish you, but my grandfather and the Elder Council would have."
Calden: "What can I do to be given the gift?"
Kemps: "Do what you can from the sea to prove to me that you will show restraint in using your magic. Be good to humans."
Calden: "I'll be good to the squid legs."
Kemps: "You can start by calling them what they are. You wouldn't want to be called a mergirl, so don't call them squid legs."
Calden: "I understand. I'll call humans what they are."
Kemps: "That's a start."
Before Calden returned to Kanaloa High, he did more studying. This time, Andria swam over and began mentoring the merboy. This helped him finish his studies before he left for school.
I decided it would be fun to learn the guitar. I wanted to be a chef when I grew up, but music could be a fun hobby on the side.
No-one really needs an excuse for baking, but when it's Winterfest time baking is kinda compulsory, right? So I made some peanut butter cookies and decorated them.
On Winterfest morning, Xanthe was in a playful mood and made gummy bear pancakes. Having donned our Christmas jumpers, we sat down to eat them.
"Happy Winterfest, Apollo! Hey, look at this cat!"
The cat on screen fell off a desk into a dustbin.
"Oh wow, cats can be so stupid sometimes," he laughed as the cat hopped out of the bin looking very unimpressed.
I noticed a puddle in the bathroom and decided to mop it up. As I did so, however, I realised that I really wanted to learn the Scruberoo spell. I knew that mischief and untamed magic was more enticing to Spellcasters, but practical magic was so called for a reason; it was incredibly useful!
So, with this in my mind, I went over to the "magic corner", summoned my familiar and got practising. I managed to learn the spell quickly.
I popped over to Willow Creek to give Alexander his present.
"Oh, thank you so much! I look forward to reading this!" he said.
"Great! I'm glad you like it! Right, let's get inside, it is absolutely freezing."
"Hey, Helen! How are you?" I asked.
"I'm fine, thank you."
"I hear it's your birthday soon! You'll be able to join my teen club."
"Oooh, cool! I'm most looking forward to being able to practice magic, though," she replied.
"Yeah, of course. You'll be a great Spellcaster one day."
When I got home, Xanthe and I did some tree decorating; Artemis, Apollo and our parents had already done some of it. We always used a red-and-gold colour scheme, which I loved. Unlike during previous Winterfests, we'd put the tree on the bottom floor as opposed to near the kitchen upstairs.
Later that evening, we opened presents. I opened my box eagerly... and got a freaking CARROT. Seriously, I'm not a rabbit or horse! I liked carrots, but that was beside the point. To make matters worse, Xanthe got a slablet. Ah well, perhaps it was just a mix up, and I'd see the funny side one day.
When I asked Father Winter for a gift, I fared much better, receiving a fun MySims toy. They were a popular collectible item.

He went to the onsen, where the only Vulcan young woman in my entire game, T'Pol, just happened to show up. (Tuvok is also Vulcan.)

He joined the Vulcans for Democracy club. T'Pol's mother, T'Pau, called a meeting at the Willow Creek conference room. (The club is open to other outlanders in addition to Vulcans.)
Later, the club took a trip to Sulani for some relaxation.
T'Pol came back to his place for some bowling.
Matt & Dina's teen daughter Lucy was playing computer games on her laptop.

Later Matt tried to help his children with homework, but their labrador retriever Charlie wanted attention too.

When everyone had gone to sleep Katrina Caliente's ghost appreared and it seems like she's the only one who can eat leftovers from the fridge on her own.
Well, 2 out 7 is not bad I guess. Wanda is the only girl(out of 5 sisters) with the iconic Denny blonde hair, and the rest take after Jade in hair color, which is black. Henry is the only boy(his brother takes after Jade).
Here they are practicing ballet. (I don't use poses, so you have to use your imagination a bit, lol.)
He and his brother, Dorian, played juice pong against their brother Zachariah and Zachariah's partner, Bodhi.
Then he went to a scripture study club meeting at Stanley Friend-Zimmer's house.
I forgot to add the traits needed for the bedroom.
Because he's a merman, Cold Acclimation, Heat Acclimation, and Storm Chaser are all traits that are mandatory for a bedroom. So I'm editing that into my list of rules.
Calden finally gets his human form! He also saved up some money from things he collected in the sea to buy human clothes to go with the new form. He's also good friends with Juniper and Lyric. The three merboys and youngest members of the pod. I think of them as naturally becoming good friends simply because they are closest to the same age in the pod.
Kemps is starting to complain about the youths now. lol.
On the other side of things, I see the three merboys being pod brothers (brothers that are related by their connection to the pod instead of blood) and causing trouble for Kemps.

And its awesome that they are bonding together and that she has started to help her out with chores. Sometimes the hardest thing to learn in life is that our parents are not perfect. It looks like she has learned that early unfortunately. But she knows she has people around her who will always be there. And she can be there for them too.

Parenting Problems
Griffin has been training up his vampiric offspring, Bjorn Bjergsen. He’s determined to get Bjorn’s vampiric level up to prime master. He doesn’t want to see him burnt to a crispy little bat out in the sun. So Bjorn gets lots of lectures about the dangers of sunlight
Griffin is having the most trouble with his daughter Lissette. She has been stuck on the same Distant phase for awhile now and gets really tense around family members. But she takes it out on her family and is downright nasty. She started insulting her father one evening
But insulting her father was the last straw. Especially after her emotional meltdown
Griffin grounded her. No video games!! For a geeky kid like Lisette, that hurt lol.
She stormed up stairs in a huff
Simeon’s Aspirations
I played Simeon Silversweater and his family for a few sim days! I know Simeon ships with the Renaissance Sim aspiration with each save. Why not any of the spellcaster aspirations is weird to me. I decided to fix that! I had him work on both aspirations from the Realm of Magic pack (The potions/alchemy one) and the spellcaster one. He is top ranking so that wasn’t hard!
He had to do a lot of duelling other sims
Hot Stuff
Simeon was feeling his oats. He could tell his magical powers were growing! I spotted his neighbor Joanna running by in terror. They’ve been talking on the phone everyday or texting.
He managed to calm her down. They talked about the upcoming second season the Star Trek series Picard
Then Simeon autonomously flirted with her!
She followed up by complimenting his outfit. That gave them a romance bar!
Duel for Love?
He then asked her to a friendly duel. Really? Ok Simeon…

She delivered a few stinging blasts herself

Joanna flew off after that. I sent Simeon on home.
Joanna and the Ghosties
I played Joanna after that to make sure she and her kids were doing ok. It was a stinging defeat but she was still interested in Simeon romantically. She’s also still working as a ghosthunter. She managed to turn herself into a specter herself one evening!
She had another job lined up. I had her travel to the location. The family lived in Newcrest. The residents were so disturbed they refused to go in.
Maybe. This place was haunted!!
She wound up doing 3 ceremonies
And was cleaning lots of ectoplasm and creepy dolls
It was still haunted. So she conjured up Bonehilda

ITS TEMPERANCE!
She popped up a few seconds before
Joanna would have to deal with the menace that is Temperance on her own. Basically Jo was terrified of her and was failing at everything. She begged the ghost to leave this family alone
Temperance laughed in her face. We were also running out of time for her work session. Joanna resorted to her basic nature to fight back. Temperance was breaking everything and scaring the kids so Joanna sent a shock spell
Temperance didn’t know what to make of it!
But the blast worked! It left Temperance dazed
Joanna was then able to use her meagre vampire powers to glamor Temperance and make her leave
Joanna is high ranking spellcaster but she is a weak vampire (she’s a hybrid). She relies heavily on her magical powers to handle most situations. But I think her Grandmaster vampire brother Griffin would have approved of how she handled the situation
She cast repairo and scruberoo on everything before leaving
Birthdays!
I sent her back home. She and the kids went to bed. I went ahead and changed her lot back to regular residential rather than a Haunted house. She is a single mother of 4 and it was getting to be too much:) She has her hands full!
Besides the kids were getting older!

Romance Festival
The next day was Saturday. And the Festival of Romance was going on in the big city! The weather was forecasted to be beautiful. So Joanna bundled up her older 3 and they traveled to San Myshuno. She bumped into her parents being disgustingly cute together. Her mom Maribelle is a virtuoso witch that recently drank the immortality potion. Her dad Harry is an ancient vampire.
The kids thought the Romance Festival was awesome! Tristan was throwing flower petals at everyone. He did this himself!
Valyria and Maximus followed suit. I didn’t know children could throw festival flowers!
Everyone drank some sakura tea.
I know adults and teens get flirty. Children get a playful moodlet
Joanna asked the Romance guru some romantic advice. She said her romantic future was optimistic. The handsome silver fox there is also Joanna’s uncle on her mom’s side.
Valyria had fun serenading everyone with her karaoke “skills” lol
The children were tired and it was time to go home. Tristan and Maximus have a pair of bunk beds they sleep in

Little Colton/Orion has a tiny room just off Joanna’s. She read him to sleep for the night.

Hammy the Hamster passed away!
It was not actually the original Hammy, but Hammy 2 but Hazel never knew that (Dec her dad and Vanessa hide that from her).
But now there was no hiding this....
After standing in shock waiting for this to not be real, reality hit and Hazel broke into tears crying her heart out.

Vanessa came home happy as can be about her ladder climbing at work, she is now in the gardening track!
But she also got a little stressed due to the Declan fire incident, and had to help Hazel try to cope and grief her hamster, seems about right about how things happen to poor Vanessa all the time!
Rod, Vanessa half brother came over, he was in an angry mood, after calming him down, Vanessa decided they would go to the movies, Hazel too, Declan did not wish to go.
Rod ran ahead and Vanessa and Hazel followed after.
While they were gone at the movies, Amelia came by to try and find test dummies for her practicing on massages, she did all the reading and studying now she needed to put it into practice.
Vanessa dropped of Rod back at home with her dad Tucker and her step-mom Rachel.
Then she did Hazel's night time routine tucking in her extra tight and staying with her, reading an extra story and promising Hammy is in a happy place for hamsters.
Then realizing Amelia had been abandoned downstairs she came to chat with her of course.
They talk about her strange symptoms she has been having and also her new massage home business she was trying to start up.

Also, Amelia talked Vanessa into coming over to get a free massage since she seemed a bit tense and a little stressed.
Vanessa's Shift In Romance
Over at Vanessa's the other night to talk about her strange symptoms, she thought Vanessa looked much to stressed... probably Declan again to be perfectly frank, so Amelia invited her over for a massage.
Vanessa looks a little hesitant but agrees.

She was always the hesitant one due to her obligations -self felt- for Declan and not self felt for Hazel, but she asked him autonomously!

Beck moved forward, it was cold but, he had a surprise or step of his own in their relationship.
He just hoped she would accept it, though a bit shy in his movements he leaned a bit inward and!
kissed her! Right on the lips and with a lot of his lovey dovey good-natured feelings.
Vanessa breath caught as her eyes widened like alien saucers, it was by far her first kiss but still with him... she relaxed closing her eyes enjoying this new moment wishing for more already.
The two spent some more time together after the entail kiss, doing a mix of shy and yet comfortable kissing and cuddles.

Vanessa held on to him tightly, she chuckled at having the feelings she read so much about in books not ever wanting to let go.

I check the receiving moodlet for saying I love you and my heart melted because Mckenna started out so angry and hating love because of what her "mom" Gemma exposed her too as a child, aka horrible neglect and countless of woohooing with no romance attached.

I had to dig deep through my savefiles to find an early Charlotte, which I wanted to play from the start. I have bought a new pc last year and the old saved sims were all gone. I love this couple, they fit together and deeply adore each other.
This is how they met each other for the first time.

Charlotte is an actress and became famous with the time, like Tomax became famous through his books. Both tried to live their normal life in the city.
Then I have played a different household for a short time. During that play, Charlotte became somehow pregant. I'm not really surprised, but, erm, I didn't want to have children right now.
Tomax is singing a serenade for Charlotte and later Xander was born.
With the royalties and income from both, the wealth was not far away to buy a better home for their family. Both are now global superstars and now need to move, but not before the bady became a toddler and the return of the original state of the apartment.
They most to the expensive house, I have ever build. Even without any furnitures it costs almost 150.000 Simeleons. I'm sure you are recognised the building, it a famous house in Los Angeles, and because I'm not the only one who have build it. But I need to decorate it, the interior is not finished yet. Charlotte hates it's undecorated style at the moment. It's quite empty right now.

Temperance stopped coming by after being zapped by Ember, Zeph conjured a thunderstorm that made her afraid, and Calum sang his Aegean's Question that stressed her out.
