New to Sims 2 - Help & Game Guides

MarLin114MarLin114 Posts: 1,724 Member
New to Sims 2, I've found a lot of useful and helpful advice and tips here and I want to thank everyone who is helping and guiding us new players. :D

I can't spring for all the prima guides so I went looking online for a guide to add to the mix.

I found this one on the StrategyWiki site and I want to share the link if anyone wants to look at it too. I'm not sure how accurate the information is because like I said, I'm new to Sims 2.

I do wish that they would add a special Sims 2 section here like they did Sims 4.

If anyone has helpful site or page links, please feel free to add them. Anything that would help new players is appreciated.

One thing to keep in mind is the regular posters at MATY tend to be overly rude and sarcastic. Pescado's mods are useful, and occasionally has useful information, but it is better to lurk and not post if you can't handle being verbally flayed alive.

Simbology: http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php has mods by Twojeffs and also has a very helpful general Sims 2 discussion area.

new to PC Version Sims. I've only played on XBox360, Wii & Sims Free Play for mobile. My question is are all the PC versions tied to one another? I see the bonus pack Sims 1-3 & figured i'd start there and build up to 4.

@Keylala: Welcome to the Sims1,2, and 3. No they aren't tied to one another.

Also MarLin114: ModtheSims2 is a great website to get custom content!

@Keylala: Probably 1, then 2 and 3. You can probably find Sims complete on Amazon.

I never played the first series, as I didn't have a PC until TS2 came out..I am enjoying revisiting the TS2...great pre-made families! And Puddinroy, that is a great suggestion for those just starting with the Sims..didn't know they made such a thing!

Well, I'm an experienced Sims 2 player who would be completely willing to answer any questions you may have  It's a lovely game! My favorite town has got to be Strangetown. The Sims there are so mysterious and intricate, plus you may or may not see the missing Bella Goth wandering about  I also really appreciate the Shakespeare references in Veronaville, being quite the Romeo & Juliet fan. Pleasantview holds several familiar faces from the previous installment in the sims series, plus a few interesting new faces, such as the Pleasants. Well, not new anymore, but you know...

Sorry if I bored you to death with that, I just love this game so much  Also, by the way, the cheat "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" does wonders.

Here's some advice, be careful with cheats and don't delete a family from the family bin, it will corrupt your game. Also don't delete graves and all this stuff...

    http://sims.wikia.com/wiki/Game_guide:Avoiding_corruption

Beside from that it is an awesome game!
My name is Joseph, please don't call me Joe or Joey.
