    Thx for the tutorial :)

My game is not showing the "Diving area" opp in the Change Lot Type . I do have the Resort and Port opps tho.
    Help plox!!

Do you have the enablelotlocking true cheat enabled? I had the same problem - you have to enter the cheat or the diving area option will not show up.

 Thx I didn't have that cheat on atm (double face palm) :S Now is working tho!!!

Thank you so much for that video

will you uploade your dive lots? because it is more fun to explore lots you don't know already....
not sure if it is even posibel or if it reset to red thingy you dive at (I don't know the English word)

this look great and I can't wait to make a lot or 2 in HS

Hi there! You are very welcome! And thank you :D

I answered your question earlier on, so here's a link to that http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/694293.page#11048237 or scroll up to my reply with pictures :)

ok so shared dive lots = problems but they can be fixed?
    if so how?

I think that they could be if the terrain is like I say at the start. I haven't tried it yet though. I am doing a live broadcast tomorrow of lot diving so I will try this out and see if it works, and if not, see if I can fix it :)

Thanks for the tutorial!! Have a working dive lot in Sunset Valley now. Woot!! So nice to not be dealing with the constant lag IP is giving me.

I do have one issue with my lot. I suspect I missed a step in the process of setting it up or something. The sight distance underwater on the dive lot I made is very short before it goes dark. I have to get the camera right up close to things to see them clearly. I don't think it is just Sunset Valley's lighting because your video of your SV lot working doesn't have the same murkiness or darkness. Do I have to put in a bunch of the fog emitters set to ocean light rays to lighten it up? Or should I be adding my own light some other way? Or did I miss some step that makes it light up properly?

Thanks you very much for the step by step tutorial!

I created a diving spot in Sunset Valley yesterday. Now I just need a Sim to gain level one in scuba diving and try out the diving spot. Can't wait!!!! :D

What season is your game currently on? And what was its weather conditions like? The Ocean Light Rays don't actually create any form of light, they are only there to add depth and atmosphere to the water. There isn't any item in game (other than standard lights) which can light up the lot. I would maybe see if it becomes clearer after a day or so?

It was summer time when I was playing. Doesn't seem to make a difference if it is night or day either. I will see if it sorts itself then in a couple of sim days, or next time I start up the game. I have tried replacing the lot several times. Saving, going back to the main menu, and reloading a couple of times too. So far nothing has lit it up. It isn't unplayable, but would be cool to see more of it not in dark shadows as I look around.

Thanks again for the tutorial though. Even with this darkness it is much better than the pesky lag of IP. And I can also build my own lot without that kelp driving me nuts in my vision and giving me a headache as I look around. Lol.

I hope you don’t mind but I’ve got a lot of pics for you of what I’ve created/creating in Sunlit Tides so far:

PEARL’S UNDERSEA WORLD…A 40x40 flat lot at sunset behind Peal Yang’s new house:

Lilies on the surface are a nice touch don’t ya think?
    <a href="http://s305.photobucket.com/user/Cameonet1950/media/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Screenshot-193.jpg.html&quot; target="_blank"><img src="http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn232/Cameonet1950/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Screenshot-193.jpg&quot; /></a>

This is a nice shot from underwater looking up to the surface at sunset.
    <a href="http://s305.photobucket.com/user/Cameonet1950/media/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Screenshot-194.jpg.html&quot; target="_blank"><img src="http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn232/Cameonet1950/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Screenshot-194.jpg&quot; /></a>

Deeper and before I recolored the sea floor: The 2 caves didn’t work but I found the reason for that in the forum and fixed them. Pearl hasn’t been back since but hoping they’ll work when she does. I’ve since added a lot more including lights!
    <a href="http://s305.photobucket.com/user/Cameonet1950/media/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Screenshot-195.jpg.html&quot; target="_blank"><img src="http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn232/Cameonet1950/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Screenshot-195.jpg&quot; /></a>

LAIR’S SUNKEN BOAT DIVE…A 30x30 flat lot a bit behind The Lair with Andrei Varadi and his transplanted house on the beach:

Hope this isn’t high-jacking and forgive me for so many pics but I wanted to show what I discovered! You can place a diving area overlapping that sunken boat!

    Here’s the sunken boat.
    <a href="http://s305.photobucket.com/user/Cameonet1950/media/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Sunkenboat1.jpg.html&quot; target="_blank"><img src="http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn232/Cameonet1950/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Sunkenboat1.jpg&quot; /></a>
    <a href="http://s305.photobucket.com/user/Cameonet1950/media/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Sunkenboat2.jpg.html&quot; target="_blank"><img src="http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn232/Cameonet1950/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Sunkenboat2.jpg&quot; /></a>

Behind The Lair volcano lot with Andrei Varadi’s house in the distance on the beach at the base of the volcano:
    <a href="http://s305.photobucket.com/user/Cameonet1950/media/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Sunkenboat3.jpg.html&quot; target="_blank"><img src="http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn232/Cameonet1950/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Sunkenboat3.jpg&quot; /></a>
    Behind Andrei’s house:
    <a href="http://s305.photobucket.com/user/Cameonet1950/media/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Sunkenboat4.jpg.html&quot; target="_blank"><img src="http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn232/Cameonet1950/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Sunkenboat4.jpg&quot; /></a>
And he’s off to the new dive spot! You’d think he’d take a direct route but he didn’t:
    <a href="http://s305.photobucket.com/user/Cameonet1950/media/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Sunkenboat5.jpg.html&quot; target="_blank"><img src="http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn232/Cameonet1950/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Sunkenboat5.jpg&quot; /></a>
    <a href="http://s305.photobucket.com/user/Cameonet1950/media/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Sunkenboat6.jpg.html&quot; target="_blank"><img src="http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn232/Cameonet1950/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Sunkenboat6.jpg&quot; /></a>

LAIR’S SUNKEN BOAT DIVE still under construct:
    <a href="http://s305.photobucket.com/user/Cameonet1950/media/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Sunkenboat7.jpg.html&quot; target="_blank"><img src="http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn232/Cameonet1950/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Sunkenboat7.jpg&quot; /></a>
    <a href="http://s305.photobucket.com/user/Cameonet1950/media/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Sunkenboat8.jpg.html&quot; target="_blank"><img src="http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn232/Cameonet1950/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Sunkenboat8.jpg&quot; /></a>
    <a href="http://s305.photobucket.com/user/Cameonet1950/media/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Sunkenboat9.jpg.html&quot; target="_blank"><img src="http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn232/Cameonet1950/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Sunkenboat9.jpg&quot; /></a>
    <a href="http://s305.photobucket.com/user/Cameonet1950/media/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Sunkenboat10.jpg.html&quot; target="_blank"><img src="http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn232/Cameonet1950/TS3 IP Diving Areas/Sunkenboat10.jpg&quot; /></a>

I have lots of work to do yet but at least you know THIS can be done and it’s pretty cool too. I'm really diggin' it!

Could you post a picture of this please, if you can. The game does change the way we can see things while under water. There have been a few times that it seems to get really murky, but it clears itself up again. Usually by zooming in a little, or if the weather changes.

Thank you! I am glad that people are able to enjoy this feature outside of IP. But I'm also wanting you to be able to enjoy it too.

OK, first of all, WOW! You have done an incredible job with your Diving Areas! I am really getting tempted lately to start a game in Sunlit Tides, and your pictures are really making me want to even more! The colours are so beautiful and unique! The pinks and the blues, just...wow!

I love the idea of the lilies! I've only recently started playing with other items on the surface, and I completely forgot about those lilies! It looks as if they float up a little above the surface? When you next go to make a Diving Area, try flattening the entire terrain to the same level you do when adjusting the height of the Scuba Buoy and Surface Shark Spawners. This will let you place other items (such as standard fish spawners that you find in ponds and stuff) at the correct height too. As normal, you can use the Flatten Lot tool once you have placed things. I'm not criticizing you BTW, just sharing a little something I worked out lol.

I see you have placed fountains! I was doing a Live Broadcast yesterday while I was building Diving Areas and answering peoples questions and stuff and I was asked to place a fountain. When I hopped into Live Mode to make sure the lot works, I was surprised to see the fountain was happily producing water! It was so funny!

Please, do not worry about "thread hijacking" and I am loving your pictures! You aren't hijacking it, so post away lol. I love seeing what others have been doing with this!

I'm loving the whole "sunken boat" look! I spotted this item in Buy Mode the other day and thought it looked perfect for Diving Areas. But as I was creating a dirty diving lot in Bridgeport (hint, the Trash Spawners, childrens toys and the little junk piles are GREAT for creating a dirty environment!) I never got to see it in action.

It looks really good though! I can't wait to see what else you do with this lots, and any others you make!

    Dear Sweet Weealbet! :D

I’m so glad you like what I’m doing. Yeah, ST is a beautiful world for this. I’ve also tried importing the other dive lots from IP to it following instructions found on the forum but they all failed miserably and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong with THAT so I guess I’ll just keep making my own little simple ones.

Bed time for me now but I’ll work on lowering those lilies if it can be done. They look like that on ponds and lakes normally so we’ll see. I’ll give it a try.

    Nighty nite!

My Starlight Shores lot is working great if you want to confirm it on your Worlds list.

I saw they had your tutorial link on Sims VIP - great! I hope more simmers learn about this and we can eventually solve the import problems so that we can share our diving areas.

I thought I had done that! Sorry!!

Yeah, they sent me an email about it a few days ago, I was very happy! :D It's had about 3,000 views so far!!!

I hope so too! The only way that I can think to get around it is if people edit the terrain below the Scuba Buoy. While it is logical, it is impractical as you will need to move items, edit the terrain, move the buoy, edit the terrain and then move the items. Even then it isn't guaranteed to work, I still had Sims floating 3 stories in the air!

Is anyone else having trouble getting this to work?

I followed the steps in the video, one of my dive lots is even in almost the same spot as the Aurora Skies video... but when I direct my sims to go to the lot they can't. I get the unroutable foot stamp. I tried having them swim there and if I direct them to swim into the dive lot at all a taxi comes for them and takes them back to shore.

Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I must confess Weealbet, I love listening to simmers I know voices and yours is my favorite. OK, I love accents but you sound really nice.

OK, back to the tutorial discussion.
Nothing to see. I don't even care about the forums.

So I started making my dive lot last night using your Video as my guide, I want to play test it tonight to make sure that sims actually can get to it and dive.

However, I was not able use the Terrain Paints. When I clicked on the terrain paints, my entire screen turned green and I could no longer see the terrain, and I couldn't see or paint the terrain. Very weird. Then when I clicked back on buy/build mode I could see terrain again.

I think I may have just replied to your thread, I'm not too sure lol.

When you place the lot are you returning to the Main Menu and reloading that save? Your diving lot won't look right until you reload. There is like a blue-ish hue over the sea bed until you reload.
