To be honest the casual simmer shouldn't have to do special cheats or go through tutorials to lay stairs. In my opinion something this basic should already be available in game. In addition those stairs are quite nice.
I agree, the current method that relies on cheats can be overwhelming at first. So I hope they can work on something to make it as easy as plopping a normal stair.
Me! My own stairs goes up to a landing, makes a turn, and goes up to the next landing. I would LOVE to recreate my house, so I can "pre-arrange" the furniture, and use half landing stairs to be more accurate.
Here's hoping !
Mine too! I haven't found a spiral staircase to be very fun in my house, that's probably the only issue I have.
However, I'd rather they do it more like TS2 "stages", but a little higher. With that kind of foundation tool, we could place the landing as wide as we want, then add the stairs for an L-, U- or T-shaped arrangement.
I know it is possible with the CFE cheat (which I do all the time) but these stairs are so much better not having the false levels and warped walls.
Just a shame they don't have the animations for them.

Agree. I've been wanting the platform tool since Sims 3 release day. I would rather have the simple tool than a pre-made set of stairs, because there are more designing variations you can make with the platform tool. They should also make them stackable or able to adjust the height of the landing.
Just the landing would be fine. I would love it if there were 3 heights: 1/4 wall height, 1/2 wall height (similar to the one Inge made) and 3/4 wall height. That would allow for a L or T shape stairs.

Ooh! I have those! (Well, they're on my to do list, haven't got around to downloading yet)
I am interested in using the stairs we already have I just would like to see a style similar to the type shown in the pictures. Them and scrolled wrought iron instead of spindles.

it would be nice to add a carpet option to stairs
L shaped staircase
T shaped staircase
and staircases that get wider at the bottom
wow i need to calm down
YES! The house I grew up in had L shaped stairs and I would love to recreate it.

I want my platform and I want it now!
But not a squillion different variations.
How about just selling the landing so we can use the modular stairs we already have???
