* Reward * Offered for Fairy House or Cottage ** ANNOUNCEMENT in 2nd Post **

«13
I would love to start playing a game in Hidden Springs with my newest Sim Faire Faye, but poor Faire doesn't have an appropriate home to live in.

Using the search function on the Exchange brought up many lovely lots that may or may not be what I'm looking for, based on the requirements below. And, I'm afraid that I may have missed out on viewing some lots because I used 'Fairy' as a keyword.

I am offering 500 SP Gift Rewards for the 3 Fairy Houses or Cottages that I think would be a perfect home for Faire. All you have to do is add the link to an appropriate creation you have already uploaded to the Exchange; or if you have the time, build and upload a new creation and post the link if you feel the Reward is acceptable for a new build.

Deadline for posting links is Monday, September 19, 2011 at 7:00 PM US Eastern Time (apologies for the short notice). Announcement of my selections will made the following day. 500 SP Rewards will be in the form of items from wish lists. There is no limit on how many lots you may submit.

Requirements and Notes:

* No outside sourced custom content. EA/Sims recolors, textures and patterns using Create a Pattern are acceptable
* All EP/SP and Store objects are acceptable (the more fairy-like, the better)
* House or Cottage should have 2 or 3 bedrooms (or an extra room or two that can be easily converted to a bedroom when needed)
* There should be room outdoors for a vegetable and fruit garden
* A basement would be nice but it is not a strict requirement
* Faire is fond of the colors found in nature, earth tones and seasonal colors
* There are no cost limits
* Must be on standard lot size, no larger than 40 x 40
* Can be 1 or 2 stories high
* Prefer a lot without a garage but a potting shed-like structure on the lot would be a plus
* Modifications to existing lots with CC are okay if all of the CC is removed and the lot is re-uploaded to the Exchange
* You can only submit the links to your own creations

Think of fairies and the types of homes that they would live in.

Faire Faye's Traits: Green Thumb, Loves the Outdoors, Nurturing, Friendly, Easily Impressed. Her Lifetime Wish is to have the Perfect Garden. Faire is currently single with no children.

Please feel free to make suggestions or ask questions if there is something I may have missed adding or have not thought of. Requirements and Notes may be updated as needed for clarification.

Faire Faye

Thank you in advance for submissions and/or thread bumps.

:D

Edit to add:

500 SP Gift Reward is not limited. The reward is for the lot so it's possible that 3 people will be awarded 500 SP each, or one person could receive a total of 1500 SPs in wish list gifts, or anything in between.

If your lot includes store items that I do not currently own, I will purchase them before I view your lot. I would like to see it as you created it.

    * Announcement *

Each of you who submitted a house or cottage should be very proud of your designing and decorating skills. You all have an eye for detail and color. Your imagination is awesome and it's easy to see that you all enjoy what you do when building and decorating. I loved all of the details that I saw on each lot. Little surpises for both my Sim and myself.

My purpose was to find 3 lots that I can use for my newest sim, Faire Faye. I plan on playing her for a while, likely in different towns starting with Hidden Springs. I was able to place, view and pre-play all of the submitted lots but one. I tried several different ways to get the lot into my bin so I could place it in town and it would not work. Several times a day, every day I tried but I always received an error message at the launcher/installer.

To be 100% fair to everyone, everyone who submitted a lot in this little contest will receive the 500 SimPoint Reward. I believe that it would be wrong to disqualify a lot because of a launcher/EA issue or glitch. And, since I couldn't see every lot in-game, I feel that this is the right thing to do. I love all of the entries and I thank each of you for submitting them...DarkAmaranth1966, Rawr2019, BadSeagull, strelitzia19, judywork1957, ZooProfessor3, Oilbasedoleander, tic10175, and nedswife.

So, each and every one of you have 500 SP gifts coming your way!

Please add the links to the Store items that you want to be gifted with a total of 500 SimPoints. Or, you can post the specific items names from your Wish Lists.

Let the gifting begin!!! Thank you everyone, I've really enjoyed this.

    *hugs* ~ Lin

Great! I want to play this gal but I don't want to just plop someone named Faire into a random house. Looking forward to seeing your submission.

Built in Hidden springs. Though it may be a bit heavy on store content, it is a cottage for your sim fitting of Hidden Springs. Included are a gazebo for listening to music, a study in case she needs to look into the outside world, room for a laundry if she desires. Of course there is a garden and a small orchard, even filled nectar racks for her pleasure.

Nothing a sim with no gardening skill can't get, but I saved the hassle of finding seeds an placed the basic plants for her. And if she wants to hide things, she can take them over the bridge that arches into the willow grove.

DA your house looks amazing! Left you a rec, and I rec'd your sim hun she's very pretty. I entered this house into a contest a few weeks ago with the similar theme, but some other ladies did a much better job and I was given 5th place. So hope you like this.

Verrry nice build DarkAmaranth1966, to say the least! I loaded the lot to my launcher but there are some store items included in the lot that I don't currently have. I want to see the lot just as you built it so I will check the listing and buy what I need. Heavy store content is perfectly okay with me.

I don't know if you noticed, but I added an edit to the OP. There is no limit to how many submissions anyone makes and there are no restrictions as far as how many Rewards one person can get.

Off to shop in the store :)

Hi MarLin, this lot is not exactly a house or cottage, it is the home of my 'loves the outdoors/green thumb' avi and everything is outdoors except the bathroom and basement so she has the outdoors moodlet pretty much all the time. There is already the start of a decent garden plot. I extended it for a contest by adding the second 'bedroom' and observation deck and the link to the lot and pictures are on the contest thread here:

    The Inside-Out House

I have moved it to Hidden Springs myself, and my only gripe is that because my terrain painting was done in Sunset Valley it doesn't quite match the lush greenness of HS, although it still looks fine. Oh, and the hopscotch court now looks a really funny colour instead of matching the grass  In my HS version I also replaced the trees with pines so it disappears into the native woodland.

    Hi BadSeagull,

Your lot is extremely creative! If I had known that this type of lot existed, or could be made, I wouldn't have limited my description to 'house/cottage.' I'm not as creative a thinker or builder, that's why I'm offering rewards for my Sim's home(s).

Thank you for posting your entry :)

So there is a reward offered for a Fairy House?? So a reward is usually offered if you 'find' something. If I 'find' a fairy house, can I still win some points?

EDITED TO ADD: Oh Darn, I just read the rules. Darn Rules, that counts me out!! LOL.

Can we use the Dr Pepper items?

It's great to check in and see more submissions!

nedswife... I made it a requirement that you can only submit your own creations because I wanted the builders to get the credit. One of these days we can play a fun game of 'Find the ______' and I will put your name at the top of the list of players...LOL! I didn't think about Dr. Pepper items but it's okay if they're used for decoration. I don't have DP objects that could be used on residential lots so it would be best not to use the DP door for example. Poor Faire would have to teleport in and out of her home and she hasn't learned how to do that yet. You are not counted out...it isn't Monday yet.

strelitzia19...What an adorable home your entry would make for a fairy! Or anyone really. Store items are perfectly okay. I already own too much of the store stuff and I will buy whatever I don't have that's included on a lot. I'll check to see if it downloads okay for me with mediafire and I'll update this post after I give it a go.

judywork1957...Yes, store items are perfectly okay to use. Thank goodness I have those fairy statues that you used on your lot, I love them and they recolor nicely. Yours is the first lot that I've seen that put those tree stumps to good use. Your submission is also adorable and so fitting for a fairy named Faire!

I'll be adding new submissions to the 2nd post right after I check out mediafire. I've rec'd everyone's lots, I really envy your creativity. Thank you all for your interest and entries!

    :D

@strelitzia19..Mediafire worked perfectly for me. I don't recall ever having used it before so I was surprised at how easy that was.

    So many excellent fairy lots!

Here is the link to Summerland Farm (intended for a Fairy Sim and eventually for a unicorn as well) which I made recently.

Here is a link to a thread with MANY pictures of the lot and a little description of what you get:

Hi ZooProfessor3...Thank you for submitting your Summerland Farm lot! All the entries are fabulous and perfect for any fairy, or non-fairy household. Really, I must say it again, I envy your abilities to build such beautiful houses. Updating the 2nd post now.

    :D

ZooProfessor3, I will download your lot once I make sure that I have all of the store items that are included.

    Thanks, MarLin!

I used all the fairy sets from the Store. I don't know what all else I used, but I definitely used those. No CC, but unless I'm building it for someone else I use stuff from all SPs, EPs, and Store (as well as free items for Dr. Pepper and T-Mobile) as the fancy takes me without really noticing what set its from.

To tell the truth I didn't even realize this was a contest when I put the link for my lot on your thread. Hence I didn't read the rules. I (by sheer luck) followed all the rules EXCEPT that there is only one bedroom. There is a sub-basement (which has a hot tub and nectar maker right now) with room for another bedroom and there is a room on the basement floor that is set up like a study but you could make it into a bedroom.

My point is: why don't you disqualify me from the actual competition since my house is (currently) a one-bedroom. If anyone wants a nice fairy farm for Hidden Springs (or for the town in Pets) they can use it and are welcome to it. I don't need a prize or reward. It makes me really happy to think of people enjoying my builds.

Sorry for the misunderstanding!!! I hope I caught you before you went to a lot of trouble "judging" my lot.

Hey ZooProfessor3...I'd prefer not to remove your lot from the listing, if that's okay with you. There is plenty enough room on your lot to make a second bedroom when the time comes for Faire Faye to start a family. I added that I was looking for 2 or 3 bedrooms because some houses are smaller with one bedroom and no room to add a second. This is a contest of sorts, but with much looser 'rules' than some. With not much notice until the deadline, I'm thrilled that I have a lovely selection to choose from.

    Have a great night :)
