I kind of used to use the eco multi-lot thingamajigs (maker spaces etc) as a rec centre, I am wondering how different the actual rec centres will be.

Community Spaces are more focused on shared resources, skilling and small business (sales table) owners.

I like to place one in each poorer neighbourhood for sims with limited income and space to have access to larger/more expensive crafting items and communal food production.

As they attract up to 3 vendors they are also a good multi-purpose option if you want to use food stalls or have manned sales tables.

I think they only attract YA+ to the lot.

Rec Centres are more about hobbies and fun activities, whether that is physical activity, sedentary games, creative pursuits or socialising with other sims.

These are also great for low income/low space sims, as well as for social sims of all socio-economic backgrounds.

They attract all ages, so are family friendly great for meeting sims of any age. They also make a great party venue as there are various group games and activities available.

Agreed on all counts but I do have to note that my Community Centers attract all ages except toddlers. I have a dollhouse in one of my community center and it's one of the busiest items. Lots of kids.

Ah, I haven't really seen kids at mine, but I usually don't have toys there so maybe that's why.

Maybe that's because kids can do some crafts and gardening, as well as sell things on sales tables.

Toddlers and younger can do those things, except for playing in plants.

I think I'm going to enjoy making Rec Centres in various worlds with different specialties.

It’s really a fun venue to theme on the world. I’m not much a builder but my Henford rec centre is very Henford and not like the SS one at all.

In mine it’s mostly villagers playing cards while a couple of them work out in a little gym space, someone plays on the swings and the rest of them chat.

I’m not too sure how often they will use things that don’t need to be in the build is the only issue. Didn’t see anyone use my yoga mats yet. I’m gonna try to put tea sets everywhere to see if I can make them drink tea and eat slices of cake.

@JustinB113 please let us know if it works. I always forget about the tea sets and like the idea of adding them.

    Tea and scones 😀

I still need to try the power walk thing and also take a Sim to the movies.

I dunno where to put this so it's going here.

The Rec Center really interests me as a lot type because all I remember doing with those sorts of buildings growing up is having family gatherings, like a Christmas gathering or reunions. But once again, I lived where such places were 30 minutes away so I didn't have access to them normally. I'm super curious to see what Sims it'll automatically attract during gameplay.

Also would probably swap the Lounge in Mt. Komorebi out for one, depending if elders spawn in the Rec Center lot. There's also like, one lot in Sulani I debate on making a Community Lot or this one. Really depends on how things shake out with this lot type.

We really need a lot type that can be used for elders to spawn, like the lot type we have for teens to show up.

Thanks for sharing @simgirl1010 Interesting read for me as I no longer am using Twitter but adore positive info about infants.

I think they adjusted the lounge lot type to spawn elders mostly. Last time I visited the lounge there were only elders whereas before it used to be a mixed bunch of sims. I read from another simmer on the forum that they had a similar experience.

Written guide to Growing Together – Milestones and Infant & Toddler Quirks

Some of the milestones gate various actions and socials. For example, the fun need is locked until the Sit Up milestone is unlocked. Infants are also not able to sit in the high chair until they can Sit Up. Once they have the Learned to Coo and Learned to Babble milestones, you can direct them to coo/babble at other Sims. Once the infant ages to toddler, they get a bonus to toddler skills depending on what milestones they’ve achieved. So far I’ve only managed to get small bonuses, but it’s something.

Finally finished building, placing families and getting everything set-up for me to start my Growing Together journey.

Although I've played with this couple before, meet Denton Traus, Bella Purdy, their family and friends.
    Denton-Bella-at-home.jpg
The first family is Bella Purdy's sister, Carlie. Carlie is married to August Messer and they have a little girl named Emma. Eventually, I want them to have one more child. The family on the right is Bella's other sister, Anika. Anika is married to Mike Remy and they have a teen daughter named Angel and their son Luka who enjoys being a Scout. The last family is Denton's sister, India. India is married to Kent Clemons and they have twin daughters named Brittni and Kalyn.

Denton and Bella live in the beautiful town of Hopewell Hills. Denton is happy that one of his brothers, Daniel Traus (left photo), lives so close by. Daniel lives with his wife, Emily, their toddler (Noah) and their dog (Butter). Bella's best friend is Violet Zha (upper right). Violet's husband is Matt and their children are fraternal twins—Carley and Zack. Taden and Kiara Landis are friends of Denton's and Bella's. Taden and Kiara also have fraternal twins—Demi and Dax.

Denton's final sibling is his brother, Dorian Traus. Dorian and his wife, Jasmine, have their hands full with fraternal twin toddlers—Tania and Tanner and their daughter, Sloane, whose enjoys slumber parties. Denton's parents (left photo) are Hayden and Angela Traus—loving called Grandpa and Grandma Traus. Bella's parents (right photo) are Ben and Reyna Purdy who happen to be best friends with Denton's parents.

Seeing this made me laugh out loud, I love milestones.

Also, I'm enjoying the compatibility system, this guy has Awful Compatibility with virtually every single Sim and it's hilarious. I wonder if you can make a challenge out of this to try to make friends with a Sim who dislikes every single conversation and every single Sim characteristic.

The Sims 4’s Growing Together Expansion Grants Me The Drama I Crave
I’m currently embroiled in a feud with a baby.

Everyone in The Sims 4 was just nice. That is, until Electronic Arts released the new expansion Growing Together on March 16. Now, my Sims are all part of the Real Housewives of San Myshuno. Everything’s all drama, all the time, and I am living for it.

When you look at the world, it is very beautiful. Moved from Hopewell Hills because the mortgage was way too expensive. Plus, you barely see any Sims walking about. They are there but you turn into a sleuth when you are looking for them.

Now my Sims live in Anchorpoint Wharf along the water. You see way more Sims bustling about. So, I like it here much better. Also, it is really pretty at night.

Denton and his dog, Porter, went for a walk then stopped to listen to this Sim playing the piano.

I just want to mention how much I LOVE how far sims are coming along in regards to reacting to things and personality. Having no reaction to anything around them is what IMO made sims personality feel lifeless and like they didn't care about their loved ones.

I have two sims living together in an abandoned haunted night club that comes to life after midnight because one is a vampire. Sky and Cloud (yes from ff7😆)
I'm just playing with 2 sims for now before I introduce my infant because I wanted to see how their relationship (non romantic) progress naturally with all the new features. It's been pretty interesting with the compatability and I LOVE the new pie menu. I didn't realize how much of a disaster the old one was until now. I guess I was just kinda living with it lol.

Sky's brother comes over every day on his own.
Sky has always been the dampened emotion party animal with no regard for most humans, and his brother, the kind hearted spiritual type who's all about wellness. I had set their dynamic to close and the game was like nope. These two got nothing in common 😂😂 and they developed a difficult relationship as a result so I rolled with it.

My favorite part though is when the three of them were eating take out pizza together and Sky's brother started using mean interactions towards sky and Cloud automatically got up out of his seat to "confront him about bullying"
His brother got mad and left and Cloud got this moodlet. I forgot he had the loyal trait and it's my first time playing a sim with that trait so I was surprised.
    N4Fqwjo.jpeg
I was so proud of my friend 🥺.
Sky now has an adoring sentiment towards him and much later Cloud asked to be best friends. I'm like OF COURSE! They added eachother on social bunny and send silly messages there lol.

But I definitely remember a time when sims reacted to literally nothing but fire lol.
Now I know who I'm taking to my mountain climbing excursion and Greg hunt. I was going to take my brother but a loyal friend is more dependable 😤
These are the kind of traits I love to see. There are older traits I never use because it's like: *tense because he didn't go outside* *tense because he didn't exercise* *tense because he didn't read a book*
*tense because he's feeling tense* and I'm like 😑

But @EA_Cade I wanted to thank the team for bringing the sims themselves so far along! They just keep getting better! This was just one example of the many things the team added to make them feel more life like or closer to their loved ones.
I hope they keep up adding reactions for sims and loving shows of affection (like the new kids hug) with the future packs because it really brings them to life! Especially if they all react differently according to their personality and trait.
    THANKS SIMS TEAM 🥰

    Lol. They really do listen.

They always listened. It just sometimes seem like they don't because development takes so long ☠.
But they proved time and time again that they want to make simmers happy 🙂

Where is the area where they can do those power walks?.

@Nh6650 ....There are 3 power walk signs in Gilbert Gardens.
    1. One is near the bridge
    2. One is located near the Arboretum building
    3. One is near the Rec Center
    Sign near the bridge.

The other night I had one of my sims teach his son to ride a bike - they were practicing in the market-stall area in the Arts district of San Myshuno. It probably took about 5 or 10 minutes all told to complete. I realized for the first time in quite a while that I was completely enjoying just sitting back and watching my sims DO something. I've also been making infants scoot all over because that is the cutest animation I think I have ever seen in the Sims 4.
