Can Get The Sims 3 To Launch!

I just bought a brand new gaming laptop so I could play all my Sims games, and then I installed The Sims 4 and The Sims 3, I got the launcher to open for the Sims 3, but when I hit play on it's launcher, it just went back to the new EA game launcher! I was so looking forward to being able to play The Sims 3 on my new laptop, and now, probably, because of EA changing their launcher, I can't even get it to launch at all now! Is there something special I have to do to play through the new EA game launcher or what?

Does this new gaming laptop have a 12th-gen Intel processor? If so, that's the issue: Sims 3 doesn't start correctly on these CPUs. (The same appears to be true for 13th-gen processors as well.) The workaround is to limit the game to one CPU core as it's loading. For various ways to accomplish this, please see the accepted solution in this thread:

Keep in mind that your game uses TS3.exe and Sims3Launcher.exe, both without the W, since you installed through the EA App.
