Simoleons seem easy to come by and hardly get exhausted outside of purchasing homes and decor. What ways do you think the devs should implement to make earning and spending money more compelling?
A Casino would be nice, blow all your money gambling and loose it all.
If you are interested in challenges; check out the Reincarnation challenge right at this link! here!| If you want spectator mode; go to this link. (for sims 3) here
Child support for sims not living in the home. I use MCCC to accomplish this.
I invited a sim to the spa but realize I couldn't pay for them to get service. Then I went to the carnival and couldn't buy them no food or drinks. Just being able to buy for other sims would give you more ways to spend money.
I'd personally like it if CAS items cost simoleons, especially the more expensive looking stuff. Would be even better if clothing started to wear out over time.
How about if it becomes like real life where Sims can't watch TV or play video games without all sorts of monthly access fees that drain their bank account like a thousand tiny leaks sinking a ship? No more free fun. Everything is now streaming and subscription-based and nothing is owned outright anymore. Gotta pay up every time q sim wants to watch a movie at home or hop on that pc for gaming. Or console either.

More bills might help, but I think there are a lot more encouraging ways to make you want to earn the simoleons and also have simoleon goals for lifestyle needs (outings with friends, special amenities, items with extra special life enhancing features, etc.). A more realistic approach like being sued for beating a sim up, hiring a lawyer, going to active court or even getting locked up and having to pay for bail or legal representation to get your life together would all be great ways to make simoleons more important in your sim story.
Now I agree that outfits should cost stuff. It would offer a great opportunity to do quite a bit! You could donate clothing you don't want, play a phoney rich person or poor person, vampires could have ancient hand-me-downs... but what if the spellcasters could enchant their heirlooms with special powers for the next generation?
Also, the jewelry! If it cost something, we may just have thieves trying to break in to snatch the expensive pieces.

Introducing a "crafting" aspect for occults and regular sims would be dope. It would be a huge extension on the existing gameplay. Again, find more useful ways to make simoleons compelling for more than buying knick knacks, appliances and the most expensive mansion on the gallery.
I feel like after you make 1 million and achieve both fortune aspirations, the simoleon income is through the roof to the point that you can't spend it fast enough.
I even donate my excess to a community bank (the vault from GF) and placed it on a gallery lot for all of my broke sims to "withdraw" from to get a good start.
We shouldn't have to create ways to make the in game money useful. I'm sure the devs are more intelligent and skilled to know that simoleons are a cheat code away from being worthless in a matter of seconds. Even without cheats, after a day of gameplay, you can pretty much break the income feature through aspirations and the lottery alone.
With all of that, they should do the following:
Increase the money cap past 9.999 mil
Give earners more ways to utilize and diversify funds (not just donating funds down a rabbit hole via the computer) i.e. donations should result in environmental improvements or maybe make a broke NPC rich and see the changes in game
Just my thought. I keep hearing the Sims 3 was way more fun than 4, to the point that I'm 🐸🐸🐸🐸 I can't play it on ps4.
It shouldn't be this way.
Please devs, read and consider some of our suggestions.

I would love...absolutely love a casino with in game visual versions of card games...Blackjack especially. We should also have the casino atmosphere with a hotel connected to it. It would be a cool way to introduce the hotel system.
A fun getaway to blow money and win more money would be nice and welcomed, but that would still neglect any real useful way to make those new earnings work for you or enhance your gameplay. That's whats missing and they should implement both.
It should be a base game implementation, with casinos and resorts being an EP. Everyone should be able to have access to making simoleons work for you.
What if simoleons made you more alluring to your gender of choice (I'm str8 as an arrow fyi but just sayin)? We could have gold diggers with sentiments, traits..even aspirations to work towards.
I'd make a sim whose main goal was to accumulate and exploit sugar mamas far and wide from young adult to rocking chair bound. Now there's a free scenario idea devs .

What I was thinking is having Sims have separate simoleon accounts it will be up to the player to open one. So let's say a teen has a job opens an account and instead of it going to the household funds it goes into their own account and they can spend from either funds.
I wish there was a way to initially tell the game to give the newly created active households how much money they start out with, without cheats. Say you want to be poor, start off with a few thousand, standard is usual amount, rich would be, like, motherlode or something.

All of these ideas would be game changing. I like the jewelry store bit. More bling for the wealthy.
I actually don't have any ideas of what they could add as far as things to spend money on, but I do think that I have too much money in the game and there is barely anything to spend it on once you upgrade your furniture and some other build mode items. I have over a million dollars made mostly from gardening and I have basically nothing that challenges me financially. It doesn't ruin the game but would be nice to have more options.
maybe they could implement a feature that requires your Sim to go grocery shopping in order to cook pretty much anything: like buying spaghetti sticks and other needed ingredients to make spaghetti, lettuce and tomatoes to make a salad, ext. but I can see why wouldn't it work. it's way too easy to earn money in the game, but it is a simulator game after all. Any other thing that comes to mind is making non-décor nor rent things pricier (just like real life lol)?

The Cottage Living EP adding something sort of similar in the form of a "Lot Challenge". While you don't physically need to go grocery shopping to buy the ingredients (you can order them to be delivered) but you DO need to have all recipe ingredients on hand in order to make that recipe.

I really wish that Venue ownership aspect from Sims 3. My billionerie sims are too bored with their fortune. I reckon there were a mod of that but requires many packs and change all venues quite drastically.
That would need to come with ways to lose it. Bring back casinos, even the online ones would be nice, or at least a spending addiction where sims would get this craving to visit a shop and buy some things.
There’s little in the way of progression. I started out in a little tiny cottage struggling to pay my bills, then when I got 10k Simoleons I could pretty much just build a two story house and never really worry about money again unless I purposely overspend.
There’s a real imbalance between what the jobs pay and how much you can make just painting/gardening etc. You go from only being able to afford the cheapest worse cooker to the most expensive one very quickly, skipping most of the steps in between.
I think the best way to solve this is just to make money harder to get and make everything more expensive, especially housing itself. If I wanted to add a patio to my house in real life it would cost money.
But I think many players just don’t want to worry about things like this and so the bar is kept low.

I really love these ideas and actually would see potential for an expansion pack in them - something like "Sims get rich" pack- perhaps a Vegas world location, mostly a destination location but not a destination only world, because it want to be able to visit any time and also own lots. Hotels, Casino, Show-lounge, DECENT cross pack integration with downloadable high end spa with extra unlockable high cost VIP treatments that make the venues in the world exclusive dependent on your fame or personal worth and/or both, the celeb chef restaurant again another cross pack integration with dine out- have a downloadable lot and new recipes that only 4 star celebrity chefs can cook that cost the earth. Release some kits that are destination worlds for people to holiday with their sims & enable the ability for sims with over 1 million Simoleans to buy themselves a vacation property, rather than just rentals. Introduce nectar making as the new skill but make it really expensive to invest in as a business venture- needing a large amount of grape plants/space to harvest and really expensive machinery to process and age your wines, really expensive upgrades... a rich man's hobby. upgrade museums, introduce donations and more philanthropic options for generous sims to help our less well off members of the community, but also bring in burglars who will break in to properties over a certain worth/museums/jewellery shops.

They should add a Theme Park EP where our Sims can spend their money.
