  • With Dine Out I agree that it helps to pause the game and then click the host station immediately on entering the lot. I have also always redesigned my restaurants to have at least two chef stations and two waiter stations with clear paths around each so there are no routing issues. Occasionally I provide extra dishwashers…
  • It seems like the only new harvestable is the Prairie Grass. They mentioned three new recipes in the Livestream, though, with one of them being Basegame. Since it included squash I wish they would have added squash as a harvestable to the game as well. We already have black, green and soy beans, but red beans would be nice…
  • Two new aspirations (Championship Rider and Expert Nectar-maker) and two new traits (Rancher and Horse lover) for humans! I'm so relieved, because I was actually afraid there wouldn't be a horse lover trait.
  • I know, I initially thought this too! I would have loved something like TS2 Life Stories or Pet Stories or Castaway. I really enjoyed those games, back in the day. If this were to be a choose your own adventure type of system with different in-game events, choices and outcomes, that would be even better. Sadly it seems…
  • I could be wrong but this new delivery system seems like an excuse for them not to do regular patches with full patch notes and proper bug fixes. Speaking of bug fixes, we don't seem to be getting any major ones soon. I guess the Dream Home Decorator career will remain broken for the foreseeable future.
  • This was a very disappointing and lackluster livestream. The Simgurus who hosted it were fine, and I enjoyed the creator chat but the upshot of it is that there is next to no new content or gameplay coming to TS4 for the next few months at least. We're not getting the missing Industrial Loft Kit window until the end of…
  • I wish there was an option for "Mostly Satisfied." I've always liked the pack and have had a number of sims take yoga classes, use the spa services, learn to meditate, and even max out the skill. I like the new features quite a bit, and especially the fact that children can now participate. However, the glitches with the…
  • I agree with everyone in this thread, but would just like to add that, in addition to needing more costumes of every kind, especially for kids, but really for all ages, what we really need is a costume category to be set and used for both spooky and costume parties. I guess a new outfit category should be basegame, but…
  • I still think it was pretty lame that the Cool Kitchen set gave us only one kitchen style. Way back in Sims 2, with Kitchen and Bath stuff, there were two different design styles, Contemporary and Romantic, and they could have done something similar here. It's also inexcusable that we only got the ice cream maker as a new…
  • I really like both Outdoor Retreat and Spa Day, the two likely candidates for this pack "refresh" and I actually still use them a fair bit. My outdoorsy sims love to camp, and I have plenty of spoiled socialites and hippy types who love to use both the spa (especially the fancy baths and massages) and the yoga/ wellness…
  • Unfortunately, I found that even with a Sim who had nearly maxed his handiness skill, any farming upgrade parts I cheated my sim (by shift clicking on an animal sheed or coop) did not register in my sim's inventory when I tried to do a particular upgrade. You know how certain upgrades require 6 parts or whatever. The game…
  • I occasionally lose llamas when trying to take them to the fair for judging. It's happened to me twice. I had a beautiful beige llama (Taffy), fully maxed in its relationship with all my sims, very happy, and having recently been feed a rainbow treat, and had my sim take it, along with some rainbow wool, to the fair. On…
  • Has anyone been able to plant anything in the community garden in the Old New Henford neighborhood? There is an empty plant pot there, a space in one of the larger planters and two oversized crop plots which are also empty. They look as though your sim should be able to plant crops in them, but I find there is no way to…
  • I think it takes about 3 or 4 days for a rooster or hen chick to age up. I don't really keep track, but sometimes they seem to take a little longer to age up. Once I had two chicks hatch within an hour of each other. The first one aged up after 3 days, and then I kept waiting and waiting for the second one to age up and…
  • I agree it is very annoying not to have any access to the Quick Meal menu at all in the Simple Living Lot Challenge. I too used to use cereal, milk and orange juice. I especially used to like to use milk along side certain meals or desserts so that the sim kids could eat and drink at the same time (I particularly liked to…
  • That's neat; I didn't know that was the result of a NAP. I always immediately cheat each neighborhood to the max with 4 appropriate NAPs on moving in with a family, and I did the same here too. But I must have picked one I had never used before -- perhaps the Self-sufficiency one? I didn't mind all the De-stressing…
  • I'm starting to hate that pig. I never know what it means. And after something comes out, it always remains a head scratcher as to why it was posted in the first place.
  • I don't understand the need to fix Spa Day, a pack I quite like (if that is indeed the pack they are talking about). I never have had any real problems with it. The Wellness skill is awesome, and I give it to a number of my sims (depending on the personalities) because it comes with very powerful buffs. The massage tables…
  • It will be easier to get the OR plants for use in the remedies now without having to go to Granite Falls for a camping weekend during the Summer. (By the way, there is no point in going in the Fall or Winter, because nothing grows then, and only a few of the plants are also available in Spring; Summer is the best for…
  • I have played with herbalism quite a lot and a number of my nature-loving sims are herbalists at a high level. All of the plants from OR are available for sale at the gardening stall/ shop. (The potions though do not seem be sellable at either the grocery or gardening stalls). However, I have not noticed though that they…
  • I like to keep my mods to a minimum too, but I consider the TOOL mod to be essential. Mind you, I only use it with game objects, and I do try to keep it limited as well as using it in a logical way. I will also add that TwistedMexi is very good (and fast) about keeping it updated for every patch.
  • You could try to use TwistedMexi's TOOL mod to place a few objects around a world. I have used it in a limited way in a few worlds and it works great. You have to be careful, though, to place any objects only in spots where nothing is likely to spawn, (so in Cottage Living nowhere on the Festival Green in the centre of…
  • It's an oldie but a goodie. I only wish they would bring the movies from Sims 2 Freetime as well; there was one based on The Birds that had a bunch of creepy cats stalking about and accumulating that I particularly liked. I even have a couple of film clubs who just get together and watch movies, and even a movie theatre…
  • I think Eco Lifestyle and Cottage Living are two packs that go together really well. I always liked Eco Lifestyle, and Cottage Living is probably now my second favourite pack behind Seasons (displacing Get Together to third place). I haven't really had any bugs in CL, and so many elements of it add a lot of fun to the game…
  • I couldn't agree more. I would just have been happy if there had been a food stall, like the one from Britechester, selling unique English foods (fish and chips, bangers and mash or those new fast foods from DU like Mushy Peas, Fish Hand Pie, Chip Butty and Sausage Roll). Actually, they wouldn't even have needed to have a…
  • My Sim's dog, Friendly and Loyal, won't stay out of my chicken pen (neither will the toddler) and they both need frequent baths as a result. He also barks a lot at the chickens and they seem to squawk back. They all have thought bubbles of each other, and even take turns barking and squawking at each other, after which the…
  • I store all my non-hatchable eggs in the fridge until I am ready to sell them as they spoil fairly quickly but keep for days in the fridge. Blue (and all the coloured eggs) are ingredients in some treats and/or recipes (I haven't made very many of the treats yet so I can't tell you which ones) and can also be given to the…
  • Actually produce can hugely impact your sim's bills. If you have a quantity of vegetables, even if individually they are cheap and not good quality, I think the game counts the whole amount as part of your sim's wealth. When I've played with gardens I always made my sim sell most vegetables and fruits right away, which can…
  • I've never seen this happen in my game but my sim's dog has the friendly trait. What traits did the dog have? Does that make a difference I wonder?
  • I've played a lot with the Coop and am up to my third generation of chickens, all from the first rooster and hen. You can't avoid putting the eggs in your Sim's inventory because they have to "Collect Eggs" each day. However, you should have the option to click on any hatchable eggs and "Incubate in Coop." Once in the…
