That sounds like such a fun idea - please share it if you do. I want to start making a few other characters. I might make a Ron Swanson who is a master woodcrafter and he petitions against the community garden and any NAPs Leslie supports just because.
Sorry for the bad images - building on console and can't figure out how to get good photos to post on here. I built The Pit off Parks & Rec as a community space. My Leslie Knope is about to start campaigning to turn it into a beautiful garden/park. It's here on the gallery if anyone wants to check it out.
This is giving me Sims 1 vibes. I wonder if that same prank call / message appeared in the Sims 1 or Sims Bustin’ Out because it seems so familiar. If it’s not exactly the same message, it’s definitely Sims 1 humour, and I love that.
I’ve just created Leslie Knope, and I’m hoping I can turn a community space into “the pit” and get her to campaign and convince people to turn it into a nice community garden.
I'm excited for all of it, but the wind turbines and solar panels are probably what I'm most excited about - sounds sad but that's one thing I've been wishing for for so long. It looks like there's a lot of focus on a community aspect, which is interesting. I want to turn the community lot into the pit and petition for it…
I agree with the OP. This is the kind of thing I've wanted in the game for a while; it's a topic that's important to me and I'm looking forward to checking the pack out, and seeing the build/buy and CAS items. I'n hoping it will complement and work well with other packs/existing features, and I hope it gives us the option…
I was kind of surprised there wasn't a similar kind of power system for mermaids like vampires. As @darkchadmeister said, it would have been really interesting to have a mermaid lore skill.
I don't think they released any achievements after the base game. I don't understand why because surely it wouldn't be hard to have a handful of achievements per pack. Like you said, you could have one for completing the career that came with a pack, and doing things that interact with the pack.
I'm on PS4, so I feel your pain. I'm really looking forward to it. I've watched a couple of Let's Plays and I'm really excited for the whole aesthetic and feel to the island, build/buy & CAS. I also love that they introduced the conservationist career, along with odd-jobs and part-time jobs.
In case anyone came here looking to find out what time the patch rolls out, it's 08:00 pacific time, which is 16:00 in the UK. And then Island Living is dropping two hours after the patch. https://twitter.com/SimGuruLegacy/status/1150804087333502977
It really depends. Some days I'll play the game and not listen to anything else, other days I'll listen to a podcast at the same time. I don't tend to listen to podcasts that require me to be concentrating really hard because I'll miss bits here and there. I'm a newbie to building, so whenever I build I'll probably be…
I play Sims that are pretty similar. Most of my sims make money from painting or gardening, so I'd like to use the other careers. And, stop making Sims who have the same few traits - I want to try out playing an evil sim (but I hate being mean to my other sims, because I like them so much!).
I only got Spa Day a couple of weeks ago, so I don't know if it's a new bug or not. Hopefully it's fixed in the update that'll come before Island Living.
Mine is exactly the same. Every time I do a class, the instructor starts the class and the Sims just stand there for ages. When they finally start taking part, they're out of sync with the instructor.
I wasn't fussed about it when I heard about the rumours but my mind has been completely changed after watching the stream and seeing videos from E3, and I'm very excited for it. The world looks beautiful, CAS and build/buy looks stunning as well, and I love that you can be a conservationist. Not sure how much I'll use…
The only rule I have is that I don't use cheats - this is mostly because I'm on console and want to eventually get all the trophies. I used to use cheats all the time on PC but I feel like I'd have this rule about no cheats if I played on PC because my playing style has changed.
I couldn't vote because about half my Sims are freelancers usually, and the other half will have rabbit hole/semi-active jobs. I don't have GTW, but some of my Sims have semi-active jobs and I don't usually choose work from home - it depends what's going on with that sim, where they live, and who else is in their household.
You're trying to find the fast-forward button as soon as you get to work. When I used to play on PC, I remember sitting around waiting somewhere and my finger went out as if to press the speed up button. I chuckled to myself when I realised I was trying to fast forward actual life.
Thanks for sharing this. That's really exciting, I've been wanting my creative and green-thumbed Sims to be able to have a part-time job while they're starting out for so long.
There are so many fun storylines we could make for IL. I think the first one I’ll play is a Sim who is fed up of the rat race and moves to Sulani (after visiting and never wanting to leave) and becomes a conservationist.
I’m really happy that it’s a world sims can live it. If you wanted to vacation there could you use the tents (if you have Outdoor Retreat) and make your own campsite on the beach? I’ll definitely try that with some Sims who don’t live on Sulani.
I chose Island Living because we don’t really know anything about Realm of Magic yet. I wasn’t too bothered about IL when I saw the leaks earlier this week but I’m so excited for it after watching the stream. It looks really well put together. I’m looking forward to learning more about magic - don’t remember playing Makin…
When I saw the rumours about the next pack being Island Living I wasn't hugely interested at all; after watching the stream I'm really excited for it. I love that they're adding in a conservationist career; I'm really excited that they're adding in something that's important to me (and many others) into my favourite game.…
I love Laundry Day even more than I thought I would, and I think you'll enjoy it if you like family play. It makes it more realistic, and the CAS and buy stuff is really nice and I regularly use it. If you get Laundry Day, make sure you empty those lint traps - I've lost a lot of Sims to dryer fires.
