  • I also wish they had kept the original. The new version is great but it is not the same. The "picked out" 70s fro was quite different but still something to cherish, in my opinion.
  • While I enjoy University it drags on too long for me. I know how to have my sims can graduate with A or A+ GPAs, but it's a slog. So in the past I've used a mod that reduces the number of credits. It works very well. However, for my latest sim I decided the mod was too cheaty, and she was going to have to slave through the…
  • I have all the packs installed except one game pack (Journey to Batuu - which I bought but haven't downloaded yet). The program files--in Program Files (x86)/Origin Games/The Sims 4 are around 42 GB. The save files, mods, CC, etc. in Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 are, in my case, less than 3GB. So the complete game…
  • Oh, there absolutely should be one. If they haven't added it yet, they need to do this. "Scared to Death" makes more sense than dying from telling too many jokes. One of my most memorable moments playing the Sims 2 was having Alexander Goth unexpectedly drop dead after being scared by the ghost of Cassandra.
  • I have to confess I actually bought the Snowy Escape pack mainly because I hoped it would fix a couple of bugs I was encountering (it did). I was planning to get the pack eventually, but I was annoyed by the bug where my sims would become instant friends with others upon introduction. Someone mentioned that installing SE…
  • Not only that but if there's a *garden* sprinkler anywhere on the lot, if there's a fire, it will be automatically extinguished by a sprinkler that mysteriously appears from the ceiling. Even without the "Fire Prevention System Utility Panel" installed. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
  • By household if I'm playing rotationally; by generation if I'm playing legacy-style.
  • No. In my belief system, the ultimate goal of life is enjoyment (without hurting others, of course). When I play games such as the Sims, I'm enjoying myself. Therefore, I'm achieving my life goals!! Of course there is balance in everything. I trust in myself to discern that balance.
  • I totally agree there's little to no financial challenge in the game. We need more ways to spend large amounts of money, and maybe some gameplay where our sims could lose largish amounts of money (like chance cards with an "ignore" button for those who don't want to risk it). Sure, there are mods and gameplay "hacks" to…
  • At times I take long breaks to play other games, but as of today, I have 3618 hours.
  • I am having a bug where my sims get fined for using too much water, only the Water NAP was never active. They do get fined. I don't know how to remove this popup/fine. Other than this bug, I am not having problems with the Eco pack. I am liking it so far, although I haven't played with the new neighborhood yet.
  • Destination wedding! Love the idea :)
  • While I loved the dominant/recessive aspects of the Sims 2, I don't think the genetics in Sims 4 have gotten overall worse. True, it would be great if there were dominant/recessive hair colors and eye colors in Sims 4. The Sims 2 "surprise" of recessive genes from grandparents were neat. But in other ways, the Sims 4…
  • If I'm playing rotationally, it's aging on for active family only, except at the end of the rotation, then aging on for everyone so the townies can age up. If I'm playing legacy-style (which I am lately), it's aging on for everyone.
  • I enjoy the sentiments! I made a teen argue with his twin brother. One of them got the Festering Grudge sentiment, the other got the Hurt sentiment. From thereon out, whenever they were in the same room, there would be sadness and tense moods and anger. The best part is that even if they had a handful of happy moodlets,…
  • Found a fix for this - turns out the script mod fix for the freezing due to Father Winter ALSO fixes the club outfits bug! It's the "Should_Fix_SIAFU_Error" mod fix, you can find it here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/leroidetout-stop-41967978
  • 1. Cars 2. Improved/overhauled Whims 3. Bands
  • I downloaded some CC masks, although I haven't really had my sims wear them yet, just wanted to have the option. I just got Eco Living and I would LOVE if I could alter the Paper Bag NAP to a Mask NAP. Would be awesome!
  • I initially said "No" but I have had some issues with the patch. I don't have Snowy Escapes (nor even Eco Living) yet. - Occasional crashing. Not horribly, but enough to undo a couple of Sim days worth a few times. Now I make sure to save every sim day or more. - Aging up with the cake fails unless the cake is placed in…
  • Sorry if this is considered a necro, but it fits right in line... Has anyone been able to get 5-star vet clinic ratings lately? I had been on a hiatus of a few months (since June) of playing Sims 4. Right before that, I had spent quite some time creating, from the ground up, a 5-star vet clinic. In the last week, I started…
  • Use one of the negative Lot Traits.
  • I voted that it looks pretty good - and it does - but, I'm saying this from the standpoint of not having played the Sims in 3-4 months. I'm still waiting for certain game-breaking bugs to be fixed, haven't gotten Eco Living (nor Nifty Knitting) with all the reports of buggyness. Honestly I think I'll wait until they've…
  • I go through periods of playing and not playing the Sims. Right now I'm playing a different game. I am not happy with the bugs introduced with the June patch (in particular, the low bills bug) so I put the Sims on hold for now.
  • Just learned a new version of SNB Bills by SimRealist is out now. Apparently it fixes the Lot Tax problem! Haven't tested it yet but will very soon. Check here: https://www.simrealist.com/post/snb-bills-is-now-available
  • Yes apparently the problem is not specifically the tax percentages, but that there's a bug in the actual calculations, that a simmer has pointed out on EA Answers HQ. More details here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-Lot-taxes-seem-too-low/m-p/9182738/highlight/true#M135550 And if you want to add your "Me Too"…
  • Thank you for taking the baton, @Duvelina, and putting the retweets in spoilers is perfect
  • Yes far too much. Now it's 1/10th or less. Totally changes removes a vital gameplay element. My rich sims need a reason to keep working. Before, at least high bills could provide for a possibility of challenge. I do think it's a bug though, not intended.
  • It's been reported on Answers EA here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/UNSURE-Lot-taxes-seem-too-low/m-p/9171466#M133665 . It's listed as "Unsure" but it's hard for me to believe this isn't a bug. Do the low bills still happen for those who have the Eco EP installed? Sometimes an EP "fixes" a bug that appears in a…
  • Thanks @Sigzy05. I assume others have a higher "Lot Value" in their bill breakdown? I will try removing all my mods (which includes MCCC) and see if that changes the bill valuation.
  • I looked at some of the links in this thread. None of it appears to be true leaks, just speculation.
