May I presume the smoke has cleared and dust settled? Trinity term began last week so have been otherwise occupied. Victorian literature seems calmer than simming of late.
Not thought of HD that way before but you're right. That one pack changed not only TS1 but the trajectory of all that followed. Come to think of it, HD had the best dating mechanics. TS2 had a timer so you were focused on button pushing, not a meaningful experience. Not done any dating with either 3 or 4 to speak of.
blueybluesky, very sorry for all you've been through. That's a lot even if it had been over a longer time period, let alone one so compressed. That Simming has helped reduce the stress and carry you through is indeed a blessing. Wishing you all the best, a lighter path, and abundant peace.
Peachy. Can't help but wonder how many on the list will truly be fixed, how many will be made worse, how many things that currently work will be broken. No hint of removing the abominable cart I suppose. Yes, am wary after the last go-round.
Thank you! After all the years I've had it there is still so much that don't know. Sure would be nice if there was a guide out there somewhere on what it does and how to use it.
No more makeovers. The one for the Goths was barely tolerable but the one for the Calientes was horrible. Have no confidence in EA doing it remotely right.
Agree fully with all sentiments and will add food processors to the list. I fear we may need to wait until Titanic makes port in Boston Harbor under her own power.
Am part Scot and have the stereotypical trait of hating to spend money. So, the option that provides the most content for the smallest expenditure of funds.
Am feeling very underwhelmed by both. We have a buggy & broken game, and they spend their resources on those? Could probably blow the doors off both of them with a little time CC hunting.
The good news: Have figured out how the software works, that it ignores sims already EA made - new ones only, and that with its help have finally gotten the CC under reasonable control. Have adopted using a 'test' folder to put new CC into first to find out what works before putting into the general system. Easier to deal…
Not heard of that one, so safe for now. Prowled the net, read some articles and saw some videos. Have the impression that for Tray Importer to work one needs to make a sim specifically for CC work. So picked an existing townie, ensured that was clean of CC, and then applied one full body outfit, two tops, and 2 bottoms…
Sorry about your hand. May it fully heal soon. Being a published author am an incurable story teller, have been since TS 1. Mostly just let them play out with little to no planning. More like recorded goofing around and relaxing after a long stressful work day. Laptops in general are aggravating, especially the track pad,…
Thank you. Have always thought Sims 4 Studio is for modders. Can mere mortals use it as well? Learned that about blank spaces some years ago and actually managed to fix 3 recent ones by finding the originals thanks to the filenames containing info about the source. Not so easy on the ones that have been there a while, have…
With you completely! EA seems determined to make TS4 the Yugo of the gaming world. Keeping with the automobile theme, they really should follow an old maxim from Detroit in the days when the Impala ruled the car roost, "Putting you first keeps us first."
Have added the SimMattically mod to my layers of defenses. Not only do I have the protection but a lovely river picture in place of the EA home screen. Have also replaced the standard CAS background with one like TS2. Forget who made the mod. Things are much more pleasant when starting the game now.
How do you turn culling off? My games have been a slaughterhouse lately. Currently have a sim limit of 200 so every time there's a new baby or the game adds another horse to households that don't have the space for them another sim disappears. Not the useless random townies either, but the family premades, some of which…
Major bummer! You have my sympathies. As in physical damage or just horribly grubby that might be cleanable? Fortunately for me there is no one to touch my complete sets of Sims disks but me.
So far, so good, but will it really happen? I remember that waaaay back in the early days of the franchise there was similar talk about a movie being made but it got no further than that. Have reservations on how good an idea it is. Simming is active, a movie - no matter how good - is passive. We tell our own stories, a…
Desktop PC for the most part, 23 years or so of them. Have lost count of the PCs that have been bought, lived playing Sims (among other, more regular tasks), and gone on to where computers go when expired. I do have one, original OS having been Windows 98, that has my TS1 and one of my TS2 installations, but the hard drive…
