Some default replacements don't show up when you first load a game and only will after going into CAS (any kind) with the sim in question. I don't use custom sliders but that would be my first troubleshooting step. Did the changes stick after you left CAS?

NRaas Story Progression has expanded genetic options including getting facial features from grandparents. So if you saw it in someone's else's legacy it's probably from that mod. But it's a big mod to use for just that purpose of course.

I switch when 1) some goal was achieved and the previous generation's story feels completed enough or 2) when the heir is a teen and interesting because I don't like writing kids!

I think 6-10 is a good number for a forum post (especially in more general threads where people might not be reading it for your content) but I put the limit higher for dedicated story threads and personal blogs. Walls up, i tend to play my game from a top-down view and it's one less setting to remember when doing screenshots. I also think it helps with building so I can't forget how a room is laid out.

Looks like the Plum Tree App is shutting down (and as someone who pays for webhosting of my own, I get it completely) but giving users ample time to download trees. Personally I was always a Family Echo girlie but I'd hate to see people lose their projects so hopefully this gets the word out!

Thanks for this rec @MonaSolstraale, I haven't enjoyed simlit this much in ages (I also haven't really read any simlit in ages) It's easy to catch up to and it makes me like the Villarreals a lot more than I did. I always thought the kids were pretty bleh.
