After the youngest child in a generation becomes a teen I usually add new families and sims to empty houses or give some sims makeovers. I also use MCCC for story progression.

My mods are mainly just for CAS, I hate the way most of the default CAS items look, so I can have fun without mods, but my CAS creativity would be very limited.

I always use move objects on, and sometimes skill cheats. I rarely use money cheats as it takes away some of the reality from the game, but if I'm doing a storyline then it's pretty important.
