It's happened, I just can't CAS modify another single townie whose outfit I don't like. Nope. Done.
I was wondering if there is a mod, or a way, I could select a small group of clothing options for my townies to populate into so when they spawn they only wear items from that selected group of clothing?
With so many packs these days the clothing combo options for townies is crazy. I would love a way I can make the game only populate my townies, in say jeans, sneakers and a tshirt (instead of weird, ugly and at times frightening ensembles I'm currently getting) so they blend in the population more than standout.
I know I could CAS modify each and every one but I'm so tried of doing that and TBH not only does it make me bored but at times borderline hostile, which is unfair to those in close proximity to me at the time. I'd much rather load/play a game and not have to CAS modify every townie I see because they look like a toddler has dressed them.
Writing this down I'm wondering if I can achieve this through S4S? Would I have to mass select all my clothing options and disable for random?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know what you want but here are about two creators who work on these mods:

As for forcing them to dress in a specific way, MCCC can do this. I don't know the details on how though, a friend in a Discord server wrote a tutorial but it's uploaded only to that Discord server.
Try this link and see if it downloads the tutorial? I tested in incognito and it seems you don't need to have Discord to download it, so give it a go.

The mod have worked fine for me but it can sometimes cause last exceptions because the game is trying to use a sim for multiple roles, especially with roommates in Discover University. I tend to remove it from time to time so that the game can generate some townies, then I add it back and change those townies in CAS with cas.fulleditmode.
I really appreciate the detail replies! Thank you.
I'm actually going to splice both your suggestions. First via MCCC I think if I populate my tray with sims I like then I set MCCC population to import tray at 100% it'll make the game choose the tray sim before choosing a townie and to stop the game needing a townie I'll also use NPCC to fill roles with my sims. So by MCCC I'll have generic townies I like and NPCC will give those sims a role in the game stopping random generated townies.
To prong attack.... I'm ready 👍
