@SnowBnuuy thanks for that great comment you left on the blog. As you're within the first 10 chapters and I'm currently about 90 odd on in the story I won't reveal any spoilers about what happens with Jeremy suffice to say he has an ongoing tussle between devoting himself to his business work and his social life. You hit the nail on head about how he interprets social interactions.
As the saga (and It's scary sometimes to think what was once an experiment in writing is now over 100 chapters old) doesn't follow one character, but is the story of Sim City in the late 60s, it's very much an ensemble piece with the plot being steered by gameplay plus my "interpretations" of what occurred in game: I love writing dialogue and each character voice I have in my head illustrates their personalities. I hope I can make the characters seem vaguely authentic: I am not a 20 year old Dolly Bird, Mod Guy or Hippy from that era so I have to guess a lot. I am interested in that time period and the story was influenced by about half a dozen of my favourite films made in the late 60s. The research into fashion and decor was the monster that was spawned as a result! I have a large library of photos from the 60s and I keep getting suggestions for CC which HAVE to download! Every outfit you see in Sim 66 is based on a real 60s outfit from my files. The Sims has always had a retro-feel to it; dating back to Sims 1. There's a lot of base game Mod styling in furniture; the trick is to hide the modern day tech when screenshotting.
There's a lot I want to do with Sim 66 and incorporate the real era into the game and the story. However this is a world my characters inhabit, not one they serve. Not everyone will be protesting the war in Vietnam or burning their bra or dropping acid; most will be navigating their way through that time period although all those issues will be covered here and there. Anyway, I hope you continue to enjoy it.
@Kellogg_J_Kellogg That's really cool though, when you have a bunch of influences for one project it makes it more fun ^u^ I really like how thoroughly you do research as well; it's cool looking at what was cool and fashionable back in the day. Yeah I was thinking that actually when I went back on PS2 Sims 1 the other day. The furniture and electricals from TS1 on PS2 give me a sort of 50s/60s vibe.
Yeah I know what you mean with the IRL era influences; you want to keep it feeling authentic to the era, but also don't want to 'inject' too much of the real-life stuff in a way that 'gets in the way' of the story if that makes sense. I look forward to reading more < 3
i'm here. for te last few days i was trying to get the private practice mod to show in game. still no luck. and now i got to add my mods t my fresh mods folder.
Oh, what a chapter. That screenshot of Aine walking through the flames gave me CHILLS. No wonder she cares for Morgyn as much as she does. Even among her students, they are quite special.
Morgyn’s thoughts, though, seem to be running darker as the chapter goes on. From what he said to Aine about revenge, I’m worried that he might lash out at his parents or other people in his own version of justice. Maybe I’m reading too much into this At the very least they're spiralling into their arrogant self.
I’m so glad you liked this chapter and the scene with the fire! I wanted it to be perfect so I’m glad it looks cool. Yeah Morgyn defnitely seems to be getting a little darker as the story goes on. Let’s see what kind of lengths Morgyn is willing to go to with their new shiny Untamed powers!
It's been a while but for anyone interested in legacy stories or interested in anything Disney, check out my Disney Princess 10 Gen Challenge story! I think you'll like it
i wish i didn't need to see what beverly and alvin are up too. writing later. lauren just shocked me. i think her problem with noel is that divorce has been good to him not so much to her. so she attemted to break up a marriage and had a baby........................with nol.
